Actionscript 3 :: Loading Images And Video In AIR Without HTTP
Jan 2, 2012
I'm curious what the correct methodology is for loading image and video data directly from the file system, without employing HTTP.I'm writing an AIR slideshow application, and it works great but currently relies on a local MAMP server to hand the app all the media via the standard, tried and true, FLASH media loading methodologies.I know that since FLASH was developed as a web plugin it handles this way of receiving data best, but I'd really like to extricate this rather onerous and unnecessary bit and have the app as a stand-alone player, however, I'm unclear what the "correct" way is to load the media.I have the File objects ready and I've gotten as far as having the user select the local directory from which to pull the media and I'm getting a list of the files (based on their extensions) from the list.
I am trying to create the sample file for loading the video images with thumnail. But i don't know how to create thumnail for video file (using video component).give any tutorial and give some sample files.
I'm working though the Adobe "Flex in a Week" video training series, and I've reached Exercise 9, which deals with creating a remote service call. Up til this point, the data source and images have been local assets (located in src/assets in my Flash Builder project). I access the room list by this:
private function httpFaultHandler(event:FaultEvent):void{ Alert.show("There was a problem","Error"); }[code]...........
However, when I run the application in the blazeDS container, I get no rooms despite the fact that the room list clearly exists in the deployment directory after running the application:
How can I debug the reason for this failure? The deployment process used by the Flash Builder tool is fairly opaque, and the tomcat instance isn't advertising 404s from Flex apps. Is there logging somewhere, or something, that needs to be turned on?
I'm setting up my fmis to deliver video through rtmp and http.I'm on a locked down network. What ports need to be open to allow people outside of the network to access the rtmp/http streams? I am correct to say only port 80 and 1935?
I just installed Flash Media Server 3.5 and was trying to verify my installation. When I try to 'Verify progressive download over HTTP' as given in [URL] i am able to 'View a sample video' on start screen but when i try 'View your own video' i get this message on the player "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again."
We recently purchased FMS4 and I'm in the midst of setting it up. However, not that it's a HUGE deal, but....
I see conflicting answers in the forums about whether or not it is possible to stream media in the HTML5 <video> tag (going back to early 2010).
Ideally, I'd like to stream (most of the time using flash), but for the specific browsers that support it, (chrome, ff, IE9, and select iOS devices) HTML5 video tags.
If so, how? I gave it a shot using the above code (minus the "blah, blah, blah" ), and the video doesn't play - if all it is, is a syntax error, then please be so kind as to provide the correct syntax.
However, if it isn't possible unless you download something else, like the File Packager for HTTP Streaming or the Origin module for HTTP Dynamic Streaming..
I have created a Java program to Encrypt the FLV video. Here is what I am trying to do: 1. I have encrypted first 100K of the FLV video. 2. I have created a Flash player to play the FLV file. 3. At the load of player, player sends a request to Java server for the location of the video. 4. Java returns the HTTP path of the encrypted FLV to the player.
Now here is what I want to do: 1. As soon as first 100K of video is loaded I want to send it to java code for decryption. 2. While the decryption happens I want to continue downloading the video in Flash. 3. Once I receive the first 100K of decrypted video I want to replace the first 100K of buffered video and start playing the video.
I've got a bunch of flash files being served off a HTTPS site in IIS7. With contentcompression turned on, the flash files wont display. Does flash not support HTTPcompression, or is IIS doing something unusual?
I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL]. That swf tries to access a flv file on a network drive: \sub.mydomain.comdatamediamymovie.flv I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when I try to load that flv file. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash I the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single backslahses. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the network drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that netwrok as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, but that doesnt work. But it actually works in plugin version 10.1.. but not in 10.2 or 10.0. How is that for weird. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks.
I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.
My first swf loads a singleton class and instantiate it , and I access to it in the following swf's files (they were loaded in local system).
Now I have to load all swf via http. The issue is when I load second movie throw the first one, I can't get the singleton instance... it seems it lost reference...
if I repeat this IIS topic, I couldn't find the answer to my problem any where on the internet. I installed FMS Dev 3.5 on Win 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 enabled. I don't have any issue with port 80 Listening, I used the IP address 192.168.0.21 for my web application (IIS) and 192.168.0.22 for FMS (I only have one network card and port 1935 is open under firewall). I can play the sample videos (RTMP, HTTP, and Dynamic Stream) using the Flash Media Start Screen (or from the location C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webrootindex.html) without any problem.
I then modified the IIS Default Website to look at the "webroot" folder (C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webroot). From IE, I can access the default web site by enter http://192.168.0.21/index.html. The website loads up correctly, and the RTMP video is playing perfectly. However, if I click Play Video (HTTP) or Dynamic Stream (tab), I receive "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again." I look at the log file (access.01.log) and see the error log "Session disconnect
This isse occurs in flash player 10.2 but not in 10.1. Im sorry if my rusty english is making this hard to understand. I have an issue that causes my hair to turn grey. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks share from http. I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL] That swf tries to access/stream/load a flv file on a network share unc path:[URL] I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when i try to load that flv file. I catn even load an image from that share. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash i the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single back slashes. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the netwrok drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that network as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, I can provide you with more info if you want to.
I'm building an image viewer that has violent content (video games), and so it requires users to enter their birthdays. Problem is that because of company policy, I can't expose any of the source images being viewed in the event that someone might use their resources/net tabs (or just sniff the request) and get the direct link to the image. (I know that they could screenshot it, but that's out of anyone's control and not something I'm worried about.)Is there anyway to inherently mask loaded resources (images)? I've been using sockets, which is great, but there's also the problem of actually loading the image binary (after HTTP request headers are removed) as a Bitmap in Flash.
Explaination: MX 04' Pro Thumbnail Nav. loading images with XML Loader resizes and displays images when users click on Nav. reading XML Problem: Users click Thumbnail Nav. first image gets loaded and loader resizes to image. However the next choice by user on thumbnail click, the second image doesnt get resized in the loader. It goes beyond holder. Here is my code for Thumbnail and Loader:
[Code]....
Now the first image loads fine and the loader sizes to file from XML. However, when users click second choice from Thumbail the loader doesnt resize to new image size. It only gets resized on the first selction or if users click the next or prev. buttons then the images fade correctly but nothing fades back in. Now if they do hit next or prev and then hit a thumbnail option it loads and resizes.
im loading multiple images but how do I make sure the program will start once all images have dispatched a complete event. like make a universal loader for all the other "small loaders" if you understand.
I need to load dynamically a few images (4-6) so that by clicking on particular image user would invoke particular action. Embedding images solves the problem but at the expense of file size. If I load them dynamically, they lose their ID.
I have typical situation where big loop is loading lots of images and its done asynchronous which make browser to frees during loading and I want to make it synchronous but having big trouble doing it. I found this class synchronous loader and it work great but you cant add mouse event listener to loader. Here is sample code:
So I want to read http streams using flash tcp sockets. I do not really need the http header at all - all I need is body which contains flv. so how to read http response body into byte array using flash sockets?
I want to have an AS3 app load images from url supplied by the user. But I don't want a malicious user to be able to load an SWF file in place of the image, such as with an altered extension "maliciousSwf.png". Well, not sure how big a security threat that is above and beyond the ability of the hacker to decompile swf, but I think that ideally such behavior should not be allowed.
So, is there any way to prevent this? When people allow users to load images in their Flash apps, do they somehow guard against loading of SWF? Or is this really absolutely no big deal?
How would you defer loading of other graphics on the page until after the images in a Flash gallery's images.xml file are finished loading? Is there any way to detect for this, or would I only be able to check if the flash swf object is finished loading? I'm pretty sure the swf object would be loaded/ready as with document.getElementById('flashobject').onload = function(){}; before the corresponding images have loaded though, instead of after.
I am loading images of different size and then images are scaled and border is drawn for each image as shown in below link,[URL]... I want that border of images to be of the same width and height and for that I need to find out the max width and height size image before loading all the images. Is there any way that I can know the width and height of an image before loading it completely?
As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http? What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
What is technical difference between buffering and loading ? Say, i have a video, which is showing loader bar in progress. Then what's happening exactly ? Buffering or Loading ?
I'm trying to generate a flv video from several pngs but the output video seems to be corrupted, no player can play it.[code]The browser do not display anything (not even for milliseconds) and nor do the vlc player and others. To grab to video to file i use:URL...Whats wrong with importing the png? Why I cant watch the video?
