Ideally, the app would be able to retrieve the DOM path of the selected element. Posting back the innermost surrounding DIV-element to some Flex/AIR method would be fine too.

Apr 3, 2012I am coming from flash to flashbuilder I have a directory, AS3_classes_dir, on my computer that stores all of my classes, including my greensock and papervision packages. In every flash app that I make I include that directory in the Source Path, so that I can import whatever I may need. Compiling in flash (using ctrl/enter) takes very little time; only the classes that are specifically imported are compiled.So today I did that in flashbuilder, included AS3_classes_dir via Flex Build Path/Source Path ... but now the compile time are a couple of minutes, even though I am not even importing ANY of the classes from within.

Jul 25, 2011I am trying to load local HTML (that exists in the project's folder structure) in an instance of webStageView. While this works fine in windows and ipad/iphone - it fails to locate the files in Android (only tried it in 2.2)
File.applicationDirectory.url returns "app:"
File.applicationStorageDirectory.url returns "app-storage:"
File.applicationDirectory.nativePath returns an empty string, as specified in Adobe's documentation.The problem is that the webview gives a "Web page not available, app:/test/index.html not found" error. Is there a way to get the full path, or to "force" the browser to understand that app: refers to a specific folder?

Mar 5, 2009I hope this is the right place to post this I am working on a flex project in AS3 (no mxml).. I unchecked the "Generate Html wrapper file" and when I compile for debug it works fine in my target deployment path (which is called WWW).
my problem is: if my document class is on the root of the sources folder, the generated SWF will be on the root of the Deployment folder (WWW/main.swf) .... but if my document class is inside a package like com.projectName.main.as for example, the generated swf file will be:

Flash :: Mxmlc Compiler - Source-path Preferred Over Library-path?
Nov 9, 2011the same class is passed to the mxmlc compiler in SWF library as a symbol linkage class and again in a source-path. But the compiler uses the definition from the source-path so creating new instance of that class won't create new instance of the library symbol. How do I tell the compiler to prefer the definition linked to the symbol (the one dfrom SWC)?
I have my design assets in an FLA file and they are linked to classes (e.g. [URL]. Then I export those assets to a SWC library and pass it to the compiler. Now when I create an instance of the class (new MyAsset();) it will be a new instance of the library object.
But there are other classes too in the source folder (e.g. "com.myproject.model.*" so I need to pass the source folder to the compiler too. And that is the problem, now the compiler will use the MyAsset.as definition from the source path, not from the SWC where it is assigned to the library object so if I create new instance of MyAsset now it won't duplicate the library object.

Flex :: HTML Post Error - Swf Made HTML Posts To PHP Scripts?
Dec 5, 2010I have a swf that I have created that make a few HTML posts. When I run and compile the swf locally, it successfully makes posts to my php code hosted on my domain. However when I then upload my swf to my domain, and then alter the embed tag to have a fully qualified path to my hosted swf, the swf will load correctly but it will make any HTML posts to my PHP scripts. The reason that I have an an embed tag with the fully qualified url in it, is that my goal here is to be able to place the html embed code on a number of different sites.
I have it working on a single remote site, and it has a wild card crossdomain.xml file in it. However when I try to apply a crossdomain.xml to any of the hosted sites, or to my computer locally nothing runs when the I use the embed with the fully qualified URL, if I just the locally hosted swf on my computer the HTML post work just fine. I feel this is related to the crossdomain.xml file, however I guess I'm not understanding some aspect of the security model.

Jul 1, 2011I have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I hope it's a bit clear what I want o_0. don't know where to start.

Html :: Flex - Display HTML Text In A Textarea Control?
Apr 15, 2012I have created a textArea element but cannot display my HTML content. If I just display regular text it works or if I change the textArea element to a RichEditableText element it works fine. Since this is for a mobile app I would prefer to use the textArea element as recommended by Adobe.Here is the MXML code for the textArea. All I get is the border and no content displayed.

Feb 21, 2011I am working on a project that is primarily ASP.NET based. The main project is meant to be deployed to multiple locations for different clients, so one client might be located at website.com/client1 and another at website.com/client2. Within the application, we regularly use the application root operator ~ to get the path to a resource.
We also have a bunch of Flex applications that get deployed in there, and many rely on web services within the ASP.NET application. What I'm after is a way to reference the services relative to the application root. Here's an example of the location of some files for two client deployments:

FlexApplication and webService are both exactly the same, so what I want to do is something like this in the Flex code:

I would like to avoid using relative paths for the usual reasons. Is there a good way to do this or a good way to pass the root url to the flex application from ASP.NET?

Nov 23, 2011I'm using a custom tooltip in order to be able to use html tags. The method I used is described here.I'm using SDK v.3.5. I also did a little hack so that the TooltipManager.tooltipClass would work (check this post for more details).Here's some code.

Everything works fine BUT 2 things: First, font colors tags don't work. If ever I use sth like <font color='0xadadad'>...</font> it won't work. However, if I use <u>...</u>, it works fine
Second, the <a href='...'>...</a> does not work either. I checked in several websites, and the solution would be to set the selectable property of the text to true.
