Actionscript :: Flex - Reset IdleCounter For Mouse Scroll?
Dec 23, 2011
I am using the FlexEvent.IDLE event to track if the user is idle for more than 5 min. If so, the user will be loggeg out. I am also calling a popup in my application which has a scrollable data grid. When I scroll my data grid for more than 5 min , the IDLE event is triggered, which means if I am not moving my mouse and simply using the scroll, the idleCounter goes on increasing. How to reset the idleCounter on mouse scroll?
I have (yet another...) TextField issue. I have an input textfield that is used both for capturing user input and displaying messages. It's around ten characters wide, single line and not resizable. I have a method that allows you to flash a brief message into the textfield for a couple of seconds before returning it to the state it was in:
ActionScript Code: public function flashDisplay(alert:String):void { tempText = textField.text;
[Code]....
Usually this works fine, but when the user types a long word into the textfield, the text scrolls left and the first letters of the word scroll out of view. This isn't a problem until you try to show an alert and the alert is also scrolled out of view at the beginning - even if it's a short word.
How can I reset the horizontal scroll that the user has created when updating textField.text?
I know this is a dumb question, but it would've taken me forever to search through all the rest of the posts regarding Scrolling Text boxes. So I have text scrolling in a dynamic text box. Buttons control it's movement, up and down with (scroll --) and (scroll ++). Let's say I read to the bottom of this text, and then load a new file into this same box. When I do this, the new text is scrolled to the bottom. My Question: How do I reset the scrolled position back to the top for each new file that I load??
I'm using the dynamic scroller found on the kiropa site found here [URL]..In the action script on the ScrollBar, I can't find what variable to change to reset the position of the bar to the top of the scroller when I use the same dynamic text area for other content. It loads just fine, but if the scroller was left at the bottom, it stays there on the new text until you move it a bit, then the text catches up.
I'm hoping to find the variable and reset it when the new text loads.
I have a custom class that extends List which I am using as a container. However, the scroll speed is too fast on the mouse wheel, as in it scrolls loads even if you only move the wheel a tiny bit. I tried adding an event listener to my list for MouseEvent.MOUSE_WHEEL and setting the value of event.delta but this has had no effect. Does anyone know how I can make it slower?
I have a component extending a Spark List, and when I scroll using the mouse wheel it scrolls too much in one go. I have tried looking for the handler that deals with mouse wheel scrolling in the List class and VerticalLayout class to override but I cannot find it.
I know you can use the mouse wheel to scroll through text in the flash componenet scroll pane, but is there a way to set it up to work with the code I have posted below?
fscommand("allowscale", "false"); bar.useHandCursor = dragger.useHandCursor=false; space = 5;[code].....
I wrote a short AS program to create a tileList and it functions fine, but I need to be able to scroll the list of pics according to the position of the mouse with out actually moving the scroll bar.... example of what I mean: the farther to the right mouseX is on stage, the faster my tileList scrolls to the right, if mouseX moves to the left of the stage, so does the scroll bar...Here`s my code so far:
import flash.display.Sprite;import fl.controls.TileList;import fl.controls.ScrollBarDirection;import flash.text.TextFormat; var tlc:TileList;[code]........
is there anyway when i use scroll bar component in flash... how do i make it so that i can be controlled by your mouse scroll button.. thing.... ( if its possible )
I am having endless trouble trying to get flash to scroll with a mouse scroll wheel on both PC and Mac. Pixel Breakers code "swfmacmousewheel" seems to be the way to go but despite everyone raving about how amazing it is and showing many version of it working very nicely, I cant get it to work. I've followed all the instructions I can find as carefully as possible but I get nothing. I just want something similar to this > [URL]
This one's been irking me for a while. When I'm using the mouse scroll wheel to scroll up and down in a webpage, and a flash movie comes into the path of the cursor, the scroll wheel stops working. Also, when a flash movie has focus, you can't use browser shortcuts like Ctrl + L or Ctrl + R.
I'm writing a flex application now and I'd like to find a solution, so that at least my users aren't plagued by this inconsistency of the user interface behavior.
I should think there would be a way to tell flash to propagate such events as the mouse scroll wheel and keyboard input back up to the browser unless they occur in an element for which they are useful, like in a flex textarea. I can't find any solutions out there though, nor even anyone talking about it.
Specifically, how can I make it so that:
When the user is scrolling with the mouse, the browser scrolls unless the mouse is over a flex container with scrollbar, or another component that wants to scroll.When the user presses a button or combination of buttons on the keyboard, it will be propagated to the browser unless there is an active keyboard listener, or the cursor is in a text field, etc.
i want to change my scroll effect from a drag to a mouse scroll.i have an example of the drag scroll, anyone know what bits of the code I have to change?
I have just wrote a code for vertical scroll of image through mouse scrolling. It works... but It works only after click on the image or inner space of the window..
var obj:Object = new Object(img); var over:Boolean = false; var lim:Number = 0 - (img._height - Stage.height);
I have 2 overlapping movieclips on the stage. Both are instances of the same movieclip, but with different names. One bigger then the other, due to a magnifying effect. (I have tried to out-rule that code by the way, so its not that). The intention is to make both movieclips play when the mouse is over the stage and then stop as the mouse leaves the area. Seems simple and I have done that alot of times with other animations.
i recently doing a custom scroll bar with mouse wheel,i succes to make it scroll and wheel in internet explorer, but when it come to firefox, it can't wheel but can scroll. I wonder how can i solve this problem.Here is the script ( it actually the tutorial from kirupa, i remember some people have post it before, but i wonder he/she can wheel in firefox.)
scrolling = function () { var scrollHeight:Number = scrollTrack._height; var contentHeight:Number = contentMain._height;[code]....
Just new in forum and just new in as3 programming. All i want to do is to make some physics simulations (i'm physics teacher...). So i made my first sim with the following code, just to simulate a simple motion with constant velocity. It works ok, except the part i need to reset the display by the means to start the motion all over again (reset button). Then the motion starts but the traces of the previous motion remains on stage. I tried the null command (sp=null) but the sim could not start again because the sp nedded to be non-null...
I have an issue with adding a reset button to my drag and drop movie clips.The problem is, if a student drags a movie clip to a wrong location on the SWF file I want them to be able to hit a reset button that would take them the same SWF that they opened and what would showup would a clear page for them to restart their drag and drop exercise.I know how to make the button for this just want the proper action script to be able for user to start over with no movie clip symbols on the page.
I have a flex application that has a home button. I need to reset the application when this button is clicked. I can't use navigateToURL or ExternalInterface.call("window.location.reload"); as its not acceptable to reload the swf file.
reset in google yields only its use for timers.However I have code bg.reset() which I suppose puts the background back to the beginning of its timeline.
I have another problem with my scroll pane. I now have a bunch of Loader objects that are used to display thumbnail images in a scrollpane. I want to add a MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER event so that when I a person rolls over an image there will be some buttons displayed, IE a remove button so the user can delete an image from the gallery. However my ROLL_OVER and ROLL_OUT events are firing like CRAZY when I place my mouse over a picture. Right now I have the roll over and roll out events set to just hide the image (so I know that it's working). But all that happens is the image flashes....
I have a mouse sensitive vertical scroll panel... actually i got 5 next to each other. When i hover my mouse over one, it starts scrolling, and the second i remove the mouse, it instantly stops... and it doesnt look very neat. So what i would like is an easing effect, so that if i pull my mouse away, it takes a second or so before it stops scrolling.
Here is my code for one of the scrollboxes, incase you need it
ActionScript Code: box01panel.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, panelOver01); function panelOver01(event:MouseEvent):void {
