<Node myURL="images/cow.jpg" myTitle="Cow" myDesc=" libero sed dapibus aliquet, quam risus luctus lacus, vitae tincidunt dui diam dictum mauris. Morbi tempor, Nunc eleifend sapien ut odio pharetra eu aliquet eros fermentum. Proin et nisi vel risus eleifend pulvinar. I'm trying to load an xml file from via http into my flash 8 file. Locally it works fine but when on the server it fails. I assume this has to do the flash security sandbox. How do I get around this. I own the servers so is there some sort of fix that I upload to allow the swf to receive the data?

I'm working on a function that checks for 2 things to pull up the correct .swf file. I have to check for 2 things
·_global.theYear
·_global.theDate
Is there a different way I could write this function to say something like:
checkAll(_global.theYear, _global.theDate) = function(){
loadMovie(_global.theYear,_global.theDate".swf", 1);
}
So when a button is pressed, it runs the function above and fills in the variable. Names in the .swf name, does that make any sense, am I on the right track? Because all the .swf file names are all consistent such as 2009_18.swf, 2007_5.swf., etc. The only problem I see is there are 2 sets of buttons, one when you press it sets the _global.theYear variable and the other sets the _global.theDate variable.
So would one button look like this:
mybtn.onPress=function(){
checkAll(2008,_global.theDate);
}
And the _global.theDate would be set with what the current var is set at as?

I need to set a value for the Referer header when making a request to my local proxy script from Flash. As recommended in this question: Facebook Proxy Loader Security, I need to check the HTTP_REFERER to test if traffic is coming from my own domain. The problem is that when using a loader like the code below, no Referer header is sent.
package com.utils.loaders {
import flash.net.URLVariables;
import flash.net.URLRequest;
[Code]...
According to the Flash docs: [URL] there is only very limited support for HTTP headers in Flash Player, and Referer is prohibited. Is there anything I can do here other than have my proxy check that $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] is empty? (and that seems like a fairly large hole in security right there)

I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: url...That swf tries to access a flv file on a network drive: \sub.mydomain.comd atamediamymovie.flvI get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when i try to load that flv file. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.I've tried both with single and double backslash i the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single backslahses.It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the netwrok drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that netwrok as well.Ive added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, but that doesnt help.But it actually works in plugin version 10.1.. but not in 10.2 or 10.0.

I'm looking for a tool to facilitate mulitple webpage file uploads from a single file browse dialogue. I know this has been asked previously, but I can't find anything current.I'd like to check file size prior to upload, and I gather Flash is still the only way to do that cross-browser? Ideally, I'd like an upload progress metre.I'll be using Linux and Apache servers, but don't have access to install add-ons such as PHP APC. Again, I assume something flash-based is the only option there?
I've looked at SWFUpload, but that appears to be another of these projects where the developers have become quite zealous and turned a simple concept into a full suite of tools for the masses.It seems quite cumbersome and I don't think I want to use it for my purpose.I'd prefer not to have to write something from scratch for this.suggest a non-Flash alternative if there is one? I do need full cross-browser compatibility without too many layers of degradation, so anything HTML 5 probably isn't what I want.

I am making rest calls with a urlload.load(urlRquest).
also
urlRequest.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
urlRequest.contentType = "application/xml";
When I make the calls within the Flash IDE, I get HTTPStatusEvent.status = 400 (or whatever) when an error occurs. And the IOErrorEvent.data contains xml (or sometimes a string).
However, when I run the swf in a browser (Firefox Mac or PC), the HTTPStatusEvent.status = 0, and the IOErrorEvent.data is empty. (Interestingly in Safari Mac, I do get the 400 status, but still no data.)

I have been trying to insert flash file but I keep getting error messages that:
Not Found
The requested URL /annimations/Snow.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I firstly publish flash into both swf and http files. Then, I opened view source of the http file and pasted the code onto the dreamwaever file.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="[URL]" width="700" height="500" id="Snow" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
<param name="movie" value="Snow.swf" />
[Code] .....
In addition, I deleted code that swfobject.registerObject(FlashID) on the http file. The dreamweaver gave an error message that the code swfobject.registerObject(FlashID) can cause error when downloading the flash. Finally all http, swf and flash files were uploaded. But I still got the error message above. In the past, I managed to upload flash using the method above, although I did not get any message regarding swfobject.registerObject(FlashID).

I'm trying to build a workaround for embedding my (downloaded) flash videoplayer. (it's the JWplayer...)
At the moment, when somebody wants to embed the videoplayer they have to include the swf with all the added flashvars (url...). That's messy, and it feels a bit risky... people who know what they are doing can also just remove the plugin and other added data, resolving in me not being able to track pageviews etc.[code]...
Turns out that, when I use file_get_contents on a regular test file, info.php, that responds through a $_GET['var'], the above stated code works, but when I use it on the flashplayer, it doesn't...
As in: the flash file does not seem to be accepting (or responding to) the added header variables...

We have a lot of crossdomain.xml files at my company. Every service that has Flash availability needs one. Keeping them in sync is annoying, so I'd like to be able to have just one crossdomain.xml file hosted somewhere, and then http redirect (302) all the requests to that central location. Is this possible? I can't find documentation anywhere on the web about the rules.

i'm trying to integrate with a plain http service which has both http/https flavors available for consumption. sadly they never thought of a flash client consuming these services and it will take another 6 months to roll a crossdomain xml policy file on their service (there security team has to approve the process, pm team has to include it in their roadmap and blah blah). i've already implemented the flash client which works fine from a flash ide security sandbox. is it possible to get around this crossdomain policy requirement.
my flash file will always be hosted as [URL] and i will be communicating with [URL]. i'm saying [URL] because they do some loadbalancing at the backend and allocate random servers on connection (which is fine from their server side design perspective). I tried putting following two lines in the constructor of my movie clip, but couldn't pass through the security sandbox error:

I've got a small client/server test application where I have a Flex app that makes an HTTP request of a server app. The server app is a script running on my local machine, listening on port 8001. The client is a swf that I am running locally, and uses mx.rpc.http.HTTPService to make the page request.
The HTTPService is being set up as per below:
_HttpService = new HTTPService();
_HttpService.url = "http://localhost:8001";
_HttpService.contentType = "text/xml";
When I make a basic page request, my server app is first receiving a "GET /crossdomain.xml HTTP/1.1" request, which is failing since I don't have a crossdomain.xml file in place. The reason I don't have one in place is because this is all happening on my local machine (for now) and I shouldn't need one (I don't think).
I definitely had this code working before without a crossdomain.xml when I was using Flex 3.x. I thought I had it working with Flex 4 as well. Now I'm using Flex 4.5. Is there an issue here, possibly due to security policy changes?With all of this happening on localhost, why is the Flash player requesting a crossdomain.xml file?

Im building a flash banner that takes dynamic xml data from another domain and displays them as links. To make the swf reload the xml (the xml links change all the time) every time Internet explorer is updated (instead of loading from the cache) I added +new Date().time to my URLrequest, and suddenly the links takes 9 seconds to display. Firefox doesnt have the cache problem and without the +new Date().time it displays the updated links almost instantaneously. Can anyone tell me why this happens and how I can fix it?? a 9 seconds loadtime is too long.
Here is the first parts of my code:
__________________________________________________ ____________
var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
var xmlData:XML = new XML();
//en trace variabel til hover state. Fjern da ogs variablen de steder den benyttes.
var hover:Boolean;
[code]....
After that I use the linkList to dynamically create the links as textfields, with some formatting, hoverstate, linebreaks etc.
only thing I changed was adding the +new Date().time, and it displays the links so slow.
