I'm working with Collada files and I need them to be a certain size. When instantiating them in pv3d you set the filename, materials, and scale. Scale works like a percentage, and there's no way to get the width, height, or depth of the DAE once in flash. I want to be able to specify the size of DAE in 3D space relative to other pv3d native geometry.

When I look inside the collada file I see "Material1" used a lot in places where I think there should be proper material names from the 3d program.Ive attached the DAE and the textures if anyone can help, this was all working fine from the same model exported from Maya so I have a feeling its bad exporting from c4d.
i'm doing a materialtest with papervision, using some collada-objects that i load with the DAE-class. one thing that i didnt get to work is creating a shadedmaterial, not a shader as a material but combining a shader and my original material (loaded with the collada-file) into a new material. i dont get any errors, and when i look at examples i think i'm doing the right things, although the examples always create a new object from scratch (and add the ShadedMaterial to the fresh materialslist).What i do is load the objects, store their materials in an array (i clone them once they're loaded), and use this object-loop to create the shadedmaterial and replace it with its original.[code]The original materials are actually Bitmap FileMaterials, but since that's a subclass of BitmapMaterial i think that should work just fine. This is really my first venture into the realm of 3d and I've read some of the basic tutorials so I'm not 100% clueless, but I am a bit confused by what is appearing with the following class (this is a document root class, loaded by the .fla file): the images I loaded to skin the board with are showing up, but just in specific triangles. I want it to skin across the whole board. I would like to make an animated collada file just simply loop through an animation. I am pretty sure its possible but I don't know whether the examples Ive seen use code or whether the animation is imported.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to build a portfolio application similar to the used by Whitevoid. I am using Flex 4 and Papervision3D 2. I have everything working except for one issue. When I try to load an external SWF as a material on one of the planes, I can see any native Flex or Flash components in their correct positions, but the papervision objects are not being rendered properly. It looks like the viewport is not being set in the nested swf. I have posted my code for loading the swf below.

Below I have posted two pictures. The first is a shot of the application running by itself. The second is the application as a MovieMaterial on a Plane. You can see how the button created as a spark object in the mxml stays in the correct position, but papervision sphere (which is rotating) is in the wrong location.
The template is built under Flash and has .swf, .fla and html files and was setup on an html background. To make things look nice I decided to use an XML web template as a background to his template. The problem starts from there.The XML web template allows us to add our own SWF files, so I decided to add the swf file of my friend's template.
The swf file was set to "noscale" and when I imported it into the web template it didn't fit properly. So I took the "noscale" off from the actionscript and imported it again. Even then the scaling of the swf file was not correct.As soon as you load the file, it scales towards the left and not center.My question is how can I write a code within the fla file so that when the swf file is loaded it automatically centers itself?2nd question is how can I setup the dimensions of the file as in terms of height and width of the file without getting it cropped. I tried to set it up from 840x610 to 650x430 however the swf content got chopped off (even with noscale off).

I try to make a 3d wall gallery using 3dpapervision. My gallery contain photos & video. I can make with the photos, but when I insert the video file ( FLV) there is a error: "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type."

View 1 RepliesI've got a movieclip called img_container that holds a draggable image (img_mc) and a mask over img_mc. I can save my img_container out as a transparent png which works great but the issue I have is that the png dimensions are still the size of the original img_mc. I fairly new to AS3 so I'm at a stand still. What I would like to do is save out the bitmap as only the visible area of the masked img_mc. The mask (called myMask) is also draggable and resizable so I'm not sure how to go about saving that specific area only.

View 1 RepliesI'm using a .png Menu/Sub Menu from FireWorks to go to a particular swf file and then to an anchor within the swf file.But when I click on the same menu item and different sub menu item it doesn't go to another anchor within the same swf file. If I navigate away and then click fresh on the link that didnt work, it works.It seems to think it's at the right place and ignores the link.
View 12 RepliesI've been given a Flash file (.swf extension) to put into a web page. Opening the file in my browser makes it quite blurry, so I'm assuming there is a natural size for the file, same as an image.
It's also rectangular so I need to work out the aspect ratio if I don't have an exact size. How would I find this information out?
I'm trying to create a method of saving data to disk in Flash.
Uploading the data to a PHP server works... well enough I guess. The issue is that when I go to reload the data, the file has been cached, and so I can't load the saved changes.
Is there a way to force flash to reload a file? Or clear it's current cached version?
I am creating a web site using Flash CS3 actionscript 2.0.I know how to but the one extra thing I need to do for this site is create a button that anyone looking at the site can click and it automatically downloads a zip file containing music. (it's a site for a band who want their fans to be able to download their music.)A lot of the information I am finding pertains to PHP, which I don't understand. I updated the flash library XML/SWF (chart library) to the latest version on my web application but the users still see the charts with the old library which is saved in there browser cache.How can I force the browsers of my users to download the latest version of the SWF files.I can't add a parameter at the end of the SWF file like : charts.swf?v=1234.
If I do that I get an error because the chart library load dynamically other SWF files of the library. The charts.swf file will be the new version but the other files will still be from the older version and I will get an error...
I have an upload form for an image. The user clicks browse and selects a file. How can I get the image dimensions the moment the user selects the file (before the file is even uploaded to the server). It obviously has to be something client-side with maybe javascript/jquery or flash/flex (prefer js//jquery though), but can either of them do this? This is the code I'm using to tie into zozo's getImgSize() function, but it gives me 0*0 as size.

Unfotunatly the browser ( IE and FF are what i have tried so far ) just takes the xml file from the clients browser cache even if i have changed the xml file on the server. So the only way my visitors will see my updated content, is if they clear their cache every time before they visit my site. ( even a ctrl-f5 does not seem to do the trick )
is there a function or something i can call to force the swf to re-download the xml file every time? (is really small, less that a kilobyte or two im sure.)

When I deploy a new .swf file in an HTML file as shown below, I have to clear the browser cache before the new .swf file loads in the browser. Is there anyway to force the browser to load the .swf file when I replace it with a new one on the server.
