SWFAddress it's very cool way of providing deep linking in flash. But unless you use #! in urls (and a other things too), google wont index your internal pages.
How would be the best way to configure (or modify) SWFAddress to use #!?
In terms of HTTP request performance should I pick AJAX or Flash? To be more specific, I'm more into Flash than AJAX and I'm currently working on a wide scale web project. I wanted to try AJAX out for once and now it's getting too messy for me. Before it gets more complicated I thought may be I can run Flash on the background for HTTP Requests and use it with javascript. I couldn't find any benchmark on the Internet, but I think AJAX is faster than Flash. So what's your personal experience? Is there too much difference between Flash and AJAX?

After that, flash contact PHP with ajax but request is never sent. When you refresh page, everything is working without any problems.If you remove the application on privacy settings, refresh the page and try again -same bug happens.If you allow application, refresh page, in other tab remove application and start application in previous tab - user is asked for permissions but everything is working after allowing application.This is FBJS code

openPermissions is called to display permission dialog, and on allow flash function allow() is called. In flash, allow() calls JS function ajaxCall(), which should make ajax request. But, ajax.post never sends request. I know that for sure, because flash function parseAjax was never called and also debugging tools in browsers are not showing any ajax requests. URL and parameters are same as when it is working. No flash or JS errors are detected...
The timeline swf itself (the core of the site) is being loaded into a wrapper swf, as one of the requirements is that this timeline can be used elsewhere, in other projects. This wrapper, however, will have some additional visuals that pertain to a stand-alone version of this timeline. As a result of never knowing exactly where this is going to be used (either a subchapter in another flash website, or as a stand-alone site by itself), I've decided to dump all of the swfAddress code into the wrapper, in a child class of it. To handle the navigation changes, I'm dispatching custom events (from the timeline) with parameters that describe the nav changes, which gets picked up by the parent wrapper, which then calls a function in the swfAddress child class for handling.
Also done in this swfAddress class is the parsing of the URL onChange event (when a browser back button button or history changes the nav, rather than a Flash button). This, too, dispatches an event with info about the parsed URL, which the wrapper is picking up and then calling a function in the timeline's API to make the necessary changes.

how to use SWFAddress within MCs? All the tutorials I find seem to use the maintimeline, but I need to know how to make it work within multilevel mc's, dynamicly loaded in. Ive got a working code but this one is static. View 0 RepliesI think I had this issue before I decided to try and learn mvc, which I'm doing right now. it's not a complex problem. But I can't figure it out. First, should I add swf address to my controller? that's what I think, considering it's between the view and the update. But mainly... I feel like it's just going to loop.. for instance. I add the .setValue method on a click handler. and it changes the url and everything.. grand. but during the change it fires off the change event of course.. now how can I make adjustments to my file based on the change event listener, if it's going to fire every time something in my movie sets the value?? as you can see i'm trying to use simplemvc's classes.. i'm just trying to learn though.

The problem is I need to be able to run FMS on an IIS machine, and there is a conflict over each trying to binding to port 80. I have read that a solution to this problem is to have 2 IP addresses, having FMS bind to one and IIS bind to the other. This is not a requirement for Apache and FMS. Why is it a requirement for IIS and FMS? This question my show my lack of knowledge of the difference between the 2. But, is it possible to configure IIS or FMS so that they share port 80 like FMS and Apache do? how Apache and FMS work together, and why IIS cant?

Open the Project properties and change the "Test Movie" option to "Open Document...". Click on the button which should appear, and enter bin/index.html (path to html page, relative to project root) in the prompt.
What is the bin/index.html file? Is it where my SWF is loaded? I currently have a SWF that loads from a PHP page. So I pointed it to my PHP project's index.php page build project. After build I get a generic Windows message that Windows cannot open the file with that extension.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to configure BlazeDS to work over HTTPS. We've got Apache in the front that is set to redirect all http traffic to https. Apache then communicates with the application (a JBoss AS 5.1) via http. I've tried a lot of configurations for BlazeDS, and finally the following solution worked for me:

The thing here is that in my-secure-amf channel, I use mx.messaging.channels.SecureAMFChannel in the channel-definition, and flex.messaging.endpoints.AMFEndpoint (not flex.messaging.endpoints.SecureAMFEndpoint). This has probably something with the Apache-Jboss setup to do, but I haven't found anything that explains what the different tags actually define. To get some sense in all of this, what happens when defining channels and endpoint, using different urls and classes?
My problem and I SWFVerification enabled on the server and saw that FMLE does not connect more, I looked for some explanation and I saw that if that is enabled for SWFVerification you must also change UserAgentExceptions tag <Exception from = "" to =""/> at this point I added this change<Exception From="FME/0.0" to="FME/4.0"/>but I saw FMLE does not connect as little to solve this problem
