Android :: Sharing Data When Popping Views?

We can pass data to the next view while using navigator.pushview, but the data is lost when the back button is clicked (popview).
I have views that make remote calls and I want to keep the data when the user navigates back to the view using the back button so I don't have to make a remote call again.
Is there a way to set a global variable that's accessible from all views, or a way to retain data when a user navigates back to a view using the back button?

I have a project that has 4 views where I'm using the tabBar with viewStack/NavigatorContent. I have a couple HTTPServices set up gathering the XML and converting to Bindable ArrayCollections. When and how is the best way to pass that data to such things as charts, dataGrids, etc. that aren't seen until the user clicks a tab? Right now I have each item set up with creationComplete functions that pass it then. Although it seems to be working, is this the best way, or is there something better and maybe even quicker?

I have a list of txt files and when one is selected it is read and assigned to a string variable. this string is then pushed to a view : pushView(viewer, string), where the string is displayed in a textarea. I want to also pass the relative path of the file also. Is this possible to pass two strings?

I have a SplitViewNavigator with two split views. In one of the views I have a list and in another one I have questions. User must solve the question and when user click send button, he will see another question.
But when user click to send button in one view, how can i know this in the other view? I'm a newbie in Flash Builder and I'm searching for this for hours.

Say I create a swf and in it, I have two dynamic text fields. I do all the usual stuff like give these text fields instance names. I call this swf1.Now say I load swf1 into another swf, say swf2. Can I set the values to be placed into the text fields in swf1 from within swf2?

I have application with a viewstack witch load 5 modules. each module is loaded via the moduleLoader tag and they all have an id.
Every loaded module has a context menu. the context menu has 5 menuItems. one menuItem for each view for the viewstack.
The context menu is loaded via xml.

It's just a rough outline, and the site is still in progress. But at any rate, I'm wondering how I can code it so the JB Design logo doesn't pop every time it's rolled over. I want the swf to just work inside the movie, with the sheen changing each time it's rolled over. Currently the AS for the particular button/swf in question is set on its own level, and a button set on the movie part to activate it. The rest of the swfs called should be constantly active. [URL]

My movie has several scenes. In one of them I have to swapdepths of some mc's. The weird thing is that when I go on to the next scene, the mc's that were on top of the stackingorder are showing up on top of the next scene. I've tried about everything I could think of, but the mc's keep popping up on the other scene's.

I have a Android Air project written in AS3, when the project starts I am loading the music and loading the XML file to be parsed. In the first frame I call my classes to parse the XML and set the nodes at strings, and to play the audio, these both work fine. Also in my first frame I am declaring some textfields to input the data from the XML file so that when the user enters frame 3 the user is able to see this data from the XML file. This also works fine. The problem I am having is going between frame 4 and back to frame 3, the data in the textfields disapears? I trace the strings from the XML class that are holding the data and these values appear everytime, but going from frame 3 to frame 4 and back to frame 3 wipes out the textfield display?
Ok here is some code from frame one where I am declaring the textfields

Previously above I had stated that I am calling the audio class and the xml class from the first frame, declaring the text fields and moving on from there. Now I have decided that since this XML file is a list of scores and coded be always changing, I thought it would be good to load and parse this file everytime I enter frame 3. The same thing is still happening, I have my scores display and then when I go to frame 4 and back to frame three, the scores do not display, but when I trace the data from the class, it displays properly.

I have finished about 50% of a game that was intended to be played on android devices in the browsers, as of now the game uses flash,php,mysql to save data because I was thinking of simple multiplayer functionality but I would like to simplfy everything.So my question is what are the possibilites to save data locally on android devices when publishing for the android market? More specicially, can I publish flash cookies(those .sol files) like browser flash files if I publish to an .apk for the market?

I have developed a full screen .exe flash file in actionscript 2. It controls physical lights (e.g. turn on and off) by simply calling a URL for each action. However, I don't want the called URL's to open in front of the interface. Is there a way to call a hidden URL in flash?

I've created a standalone Kiosk that sends data input from the user to an ASP page.
Everything is working perfectly except that since this is a Kiosk, there is no need for browsers. When I send the info to the ASP page, it pops up a new browser window.

I am developing an ActionScript for Mobile project in which i want to read a .txt file from my sdcard and do some stuff with its data. I am aware of how to read a file from sdcard in native android java, but i cant seem to find my way around this problem since there is no emulator in Flash Builder 4.6 like the one in Eclipse.

I need to delete all the application data directories on the exit of an application:
/data/data/air.<appID>/cache/.AIR
/data/data/air.<appID>/cache/webviewCache
/data/data/air.<appID>/databases
But I get each time the "directory not found error"
This is from my application descriptor:

I know also this is not a best practice, but for security reasons I need to delete all the stagewebview cache and autofill form data.

Have small thumbnails that will enlarge when the mouse is over them and shrink when it's not. For some reason sometimes only the X or Y will scale or the buttons won't work correctly. The animation will pop and I don't know how to fix it. The only reason I drop the opacity on all the others is because sometimes other images will get in the way.

I am working on a Flex 4.5 app tageting Android. In different views the app needs to load and display images which I have deployed as part of the app. Where do I put these images? And how do I load them? I am familiar with @Embed for images, but this doesn't seem to be the correct approach in this case. I also know how to load from the file system, but I really don't know how to include my images as part of the app for distribution.

Has anybody had Flash player debuuger suddenly stop working for no reason whatsoever. What I've found so far: - No exception screens popping up.. in ANY browser. Reinstalled debugger version of flash player, no go. - Flashbug not showing in Firebug - No trace calls visible in FlashDevelop - Flash IDE behaves normal.. all trace calls visible - Firefox updated about the same time but problem seems to be on a wider scale This started approximately, on Sunday 8th Januray (or saturday).

i have an AIR android app which i am running on an android device ( samsung TAB ). i want the app to get laid out in landscape mode when the user starts the app holding the device in landscape ( same goes with portrait ).
but the AIR app always gets started in portrait mode irrespective of the way the device is held.
i tried the following ways use stage.deviceorientation (but when the app starts (after the applicationComplete notification ) the value is UNKNOWN) use stage resize event. (this gets triggered at start itself, a manual resize is not required - the values are based on portrait mode though - the width is 600 and height is 1024 (should have been otherway) )
i get correct values when i try changing the orientation of device, only at the startup i see problem with the required values.

I have an as3 built osmf video player swf that we embed on a standard HTML page. When you touch the image the video automatically goes fullscreen and begins playing. Droid and Flash often break after changing back and forth between landscape and portrait while in fullscreen.(by break I mean freeze, where you can hear the video and use the controls, but everything is just a still frozen image, the redrawing fails).Can you lock the fullscreen orientation in html, javascript, or do you have to try to handle it inside the swf?

I am porting my flash games on android. I have ported 3 successfully. But the problem with all of them is they are giving very low frame rate near about 7-8. And I have observed 1 thing that frame rate always varies. Sometimes it goes upto 45 and again in next frame it comes to 3-4 and again goes to 15-16.
I am quite confused. Please let me know if anyone is having any idea about this.

I am loading flash SWFs into an android WebView.I want the SWF to be instantly fullscreen and focused.The class name that handles flash is com.adobe.flashplayer.FlashPaintSurface .
Watching the log, when I fullscreen the flash manually, it calls com.adobe.flashplayer.FlashPaintSurface.toggleFullScreen()The first part of my question is, How can i call that method manually for my flash swf? Note that with a webview with a flash embedded, the only way i seem to be able to fullscreen it properly (to have flash's surfaceview fullscreen instead of the flash being displayed over top of the webview view) is by touching the screen with two fingers until an interface pops up at the top of the screen, and doesnt happen reliably.For focus, inside my webview class I call

This doesnt set the focus as I thought it would. Although i assume, if fullscreened properly, the flashpaintsurface should give itself focus. But if if the first part is not doable, i would wonder at least to not have to give focus to the SWF by clicking on it on startup.
