Android :: Adobe Air / Flex - How To Delete All Application Data
Feb 24, 2012
I need to delete all the application data directories on the exit of an application:
/data/data/air.<appID>/cache/.AIR
/data/data/air.<appID>/cache/webviewCache
/data/data/air.<appID>/databases
But I get each time the "directory not found error"
This is from my application descriptor:
<id>test01</id>
<filename>test01</filename>
<name>test01</name>
I know also this is not a best practice, but for security reasons I need to delete all the stagewebview cache and autofill form data.
how can i delete storage directory instances or folder while uninstalling any air application. In my application when i first time run my application, application copy some data from application directory to application storage directory. now i want to delete all data and application directory folder also while uninstalling application.
I am doing that because when i launch any update then application is accessing old data which conflict with my application new features.
I gone thorough the adobe flash builder video tutorials and did the same thing to create an application for android device, but when i run the application it is showing Sorry dialog box saying that, The application Test1-debug(process air.Test1.debug) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I tried many times but it is not working. Initially i thought no Adobe-AIR in my device, but it is there. I am using Reliance 3G Tab. I don't why it is not working, if anybody know this please reply me.
One more thing, i downloaded one APK (which is designed with adobe flash or flex) file from [URL]..and installed on my android device. When i run that application only blank screen is appearing, but in video they shown, it is working. Why it is happening like this?? Is any problem with my tablet ?? or application ?? or adobe AIR not installed properly on device ?? Like this i am getting too many doubts.
I am building an offline [URL] application in Adobe Flex. Can we use [URL] Rich Text Area fields in the offline application? I do not see the field returned in a query.
I developed a Adobe Air Application and I discovered that the Mobile I am trying to install the application is not compatible with the Adobe Air's supported devices because this wasn't launched yet.
I have some ideas:
Is possible to change the Mobile Name to fake another device and Adobe Air not refuse the installation? Is possible to convert AIR to Java? s possible to run Air without Java? Abandon Flash and do it in Java or Javascript.
Is it possible to get read access to favorited sites (that have been set using Android's native browser) from within an AIR-application? I could not find an API for this. Furthermore, I didn't find anything about browsing android's filesystem. It seems something like a favorites folder does not exist.
I have developed a small adobe flash application (a parent .exe file which loads several child swf files). I can play it in almost any computer. My question is: Can I install and run the application in Aakash or Ubislate 7+ ?
I want to load a flex application in mobile flex application and also i want it to interact with the parent application. Right now I am trying to load the swf with swfLoader in mobile app, but it gives me security error. And also should I want the parent application to be generic in terms of child application as in down the line if someone wants he can have another child application with same name run.
When and where will see (ore already can get) Adobe® Stratus 2 examples (with source) on "Swarming", Live Application-Level Multicast, Distributed Data Storage?
I'm trying to develop a simple mxml Flex application to start Skype from the AIR/Flashplayer runtime. Is it possible to get back events from a native Windows application? In the simple example of Skype, the OS returns control to the Flex app when Skype exits. But what about native applications which have their own event model and wants to communicate with the Flex event model. For example, a Face detection system which shows "Hello" on a Flex app when the camera detects a face. Can this be done in the current Flex framework?
I am working on an Adobe AIR Application. The size on Application window is 800X600 and is contains border container and border container contains many controls. What I want is to if user re-sizes the application then that container should also be re-sized according to scale. i.e If user maximizes or minimizes the window then that border container should also be maximized or minimized respectively.
I have a native (Obj-C, standard Xcode project) application and I'd like to integrate a partners iOS application (or specifically, it's functionality) into it as just another view in my application. The problem is that their application is a Flex/Air app. I really don't understand the Adobe compilation process on how it gets from a bunch of flex code down to an IPA. I don't see intermediate projects, shared objects, etc on the disk to produce that IPA. It looks like it doesn't rely on the Apple tool chain... as I understand it, you can produce the IPA on Windows as well. Is there any way to build that Flex app in such a way that I can import it into Xcode so I can link against it and use it as a library from within my application? While I specifically used iOS as an example since that is the most important platform, we'll want to apply this solution to our respective Android and Blackberry 6 apps as well.
I would like to create a small Adobe Air application which would extract XML data from my site and display it in my Adobe air application.I have the xml part setup, when i run the xml file, it displays the results in the browser. Now what i need is to display the same results in my adobe air application. For e.g. I have a simple form
When i submit the form, i get all the order id's from 2009-01-01 till date and it get displayed in the browser. Is there a way to run that HTML form in an adobe air application such that I enter the XML element values it should go through the admin_xml.php file and get the results.I dont want to enter the XML Skeleton again and again. I only want to able to enter the values for those elements.
I am going to develop an application which will be cross platform and it will be released for IOS and Android. My App will be using network connectivity and communicate with the server and it has to be fast, reliable and responsive. So my Question is: If i choose Adobe Flex to build that app for IOS and Android, So will there be any performance issues? If no then why people use xcode or android sdk? What are the disadvantages of using Adobe Flex over xCode and Andoid SDK?
We are writing log files to File.applicationDirectory and want to clean out old log files. The question is how do you delete files out of that directory? When I try and delete old log files out of this directory it gives a security exception. Is there anyway around this? I know you are not supposed to write to File.applicationDirectory, but we are writting are logs there anyways.
i am implementing one application related to android in adobe flex, .apk is generated and now while installing the .apk file in emulator, emulator is showing one pop up to install adobe air, while again installing on adobe air , it is showing that no mobile device is connected to you system. so how can i install adobe air in emulator to test the application made in adobe flex?
I can't find this information online or in the documentation, does anyone know what versions of Android and iOS the AIR 3.0 captive runtime is compatible with? I'm assuming there is some restriction there, but short of actually compiling a program and trying it on iPhone for example, which I don't have, how can I tell which OS versions are supported?
I know that you can compile an Adobe AIR 2.7(?) application to target say Android 2.2, but what about the captive runtime with AIR 3.0? Also I don't see anywhere to find out the iOS version restriction with AIR, as you have to pay $100 to Apple to even get the SDK which would allow me to make an iOS project in the first place.
I am using many external swf file in my flex application, but when i use the files which are in same name its not getting refreshing properly, so i need to delete my temp file without refreshing the application.
I have an Android AIR application (developed with Flex SDK 4.5.1) for which I need to block the Home Button, as the app is used by patients in a hospital without supervision, i.e. it is crucial that they cannot leave the app.
It seems that the only way to hijack the Home Button is to be registered as the default launcher, so that your own app gets the focus when home is pressed. This is easily achieved in the manifest, such as:
I want to use Adobe Flash in the development of Android applications. But how do I install flash on the emulator so that I can test my software with flash?
I'm building an Air for Android App and I'm having problems loading a flex module. Does anyone know if loading modules is possible???
I built a simple app with just a ModuleLoader in it, which loads a mx:module. The module has only a simple mx:Label with a "Hello World" text.I build a .air with this. Then I build a .apk with the followin adt command.
I have a flex app using the 4.5.1 sdk and AIR 2.7 running on an Android 3.2 tablet. During use, I can get it to crash fairly regularly. It's usually when I'm rapidly scrolling around in a List control. I can't seem to find the cause.
The application will just suddenly close. It happens in both debug and release builds.
When in debug mode, it just disconnects from the debugger and doesn't give me any useful information.
I'm at a loss on how to debug this. What are some techniques I can use?
I found the "adb logcat" command. Relevant info from the log below, unfortunately it doesn't mean much to me.
What is the best way to display a large amount of text (5000-10000 words) in a Flex mobile app?
I have been loading text in through an xml file using itemrenderer. It works totally fine when I run the application on my PC but when I load it onto my Android phone it crashes. Looks like my phone can only handle loading in about 3000 words using this method without crashing.
Anyone have a suggestion? Also, HTML isn't going to work for me. I want the text built into the application, which is why I have been trying to use the xml file.
So I'm having this issue where I need an event to fire at the very beginning of my application
public function Main() { this.addEventListener(Event.ACTIVATE, onInit); }
I've also tried Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, but both seem to not be firing onInit at the right time... they fire too early. For example, on testing for IPhone it's firing when I still see the Default.png icon... I want it to fire when that "loading" phase is over.
