C# :: Set Same (constant) Hue Value For Every Pixel's Of Image By Using ColorMatrix?
Mar 23, 2011
I am trying to set a constant hue value for entire image with using ColorMatrix. My goal is to make entire image look with same color without loosing brightness of any area. I found a way to shift the hue values of an image by using ColorMatrix but i couldn't find any way to set same hue value for all pixels. I can do it with iterating every pixel of image but this approach is too slow. I am not sure if it is possible to do it with ColorMatrix and i am open to possible solutions other than ColorMatrix approach.I can do this with iterating pixels but not with ColorMatrix.I am trying to do this on Android but i believe the question is not directly related to the android since ColorMatrix approach is common on other platforms like Flash, C# etc.

I have been doing some heavy flash animations recently and my current project is making me frustrated. Here is the situation and what I am trying to accomplish:
- 15 second looping animation of a game character that loops continuously. Just breathes in and out while bending down a lil. (I created already)
- Game character has two parts of clothing that need to change color. (I created already)
- Each piece of clothing (2 parts shirt and pants) may have 5 colors each. (I created already)
- Users can change the color by using one of the two picker that has all 5 colors. (I created already)
Problems. - I tried to use the colorMatrix class but it does not adjust the colors the way I need them since the character has highlights and shadows.It tints to much of the overall Color. So I built the character animation 5 times with each with a color from the 5 original colors. All animations are 15 sec. Total of 10 animations, 5 for the shirt and 5 for the pants.
Ex. Top Shirt = Blue
Bottom Pants = Red
User clicks on the color picker for the shirt and wants to change the color to green(green being one of the 5 colors). So with some code I changed out the blue shirt animation with the green animation. But I don't know how to start the green animation where the blue one left of?
Better Example: Blue shirt active and currently on frame 10. While on the blue shirt is on frame 10, user selects the color green from the color picker at the same time. How do i get the green t-shirt to start at frame 11 continuing from where the blue color left off?

I have 2 images, a base and a top. I want the top to rotate to face an object but the base to remain constant. I can get close but when the top rotates it is rotating around the corner of the rectangle it is placed inside of rather than the center. Here's the AS code for the object.....but the important elements are bolded.
public class Turret extends MovieClip{
private var _root:MovieClip;
[Embed(source='mortarbase.png')]
private var mortarBase:Class;
private var mbase:Bitmap = new mortarBase();

Is it possible to iterate each pixel of a bitmap image? Eventually what I'm trying to achieve is that I need to get the coordinate values of each pixel of a bitmap image and change the color of those pixels according to their coordinate values. As I see it, I need to use the getPixels() method but I still did not understand exactly what I should do.

I have a Width and Height parametr. I have been given an array of colors in such format: [r, g, b, a, r, g, b, a, r, g, b, a... etc] Data can be acsessed by something like this
for(var y = 0; y < height; y++)
{
for(var x = 0; x < width; x++)
{
[Code].....
I want to paint that data on some sprite. How to do such thing?
BTW: I use Flash Builder for mxml+actionscript coding. So if it is easy for you you can give example using MXML (not todraw on some sprite but on some MXML component).

I am writing a program that need to load photos. However, there is limitation in flex that users cannot load photos with pixel above 4069 x 4069 into a bitmapdata. How can I check photos pixel before running to error? Since some pictures are big nowadays, I would like to check the user's system memory and free harddisk space. See if the computer have enough space to load the photos.

I am having a rather odd issue with scaling down large images. When scaled down quite a bit, the images' right most edge of pixels stretches across the area that should just be the image. All I am doing, is loading an image using the loader class, and scaling it down as a thumbnail. One very odd thing about this issue, is that if I move the parent object x position to the left, it starts to correct itself.

I am looking for a fairly simple image comparison method in AS3. I have taken an image from a web cam (with no subject) passed it in to bitmap data, then a second image is taken (this time with a subject) to compare this data, from these two images I would like to create a mask from the pixels that match on both bitmaps. I have been scratching my head for a while, and I am not really making any progress. Could any one point me in the right direction for pixel comparison method, something like getPixel32()

I load a bitmap to the stage, it's a GIF and set to lossless compression. I have ensured its coordinates are integers and have not allowed smoothing (smoothing somewhat fixes the issue but reduces quality of the image).The problem is the image appears to shift one pixel to the left and add that pixel on to the right side meaning one side has no border and the other a double border.The original bitmap does not have this issue, and there is no transparency .etc in the image.

I have a fairly decent grasp of flash, but not so much of the action script side of things. I need to make a banner similar to the one featured here:[URL]..
As you can see, the image is jerky and juddery when it scales down. From what I can find out, I think I need to use the pixel snapping feature to help make it a smoother fade, but I haven't got a clue how to write the actionscript for it, or where to put the actionscript. Can anyone give me any pointers?

I'm puzzled I can't find a constant for the minimum value of int in actionscript.

i'd like to throw an argument error if a particular function doesn't work without a passed value that also happens to be a public constant of the class containing the function.is there anyway to determine if a class owns a public constant instead of having to iterate thru all of them? something like this:
public static const HALIFAX:String = "halifax";
public static const MONTREAL:String = "montreal";
public static const TORONTO:String = "toronto";[code]....
currently, for this functionality i have to write the city setter function like this:
public function set city(value:String):void
{
if (value != HALIFAX && value != MONTREAL && value != TORONTO)[code].....

On PC games I've written the game logic and render are seperate calls.This allowed me to time how long the render is taking and therefore only draw when there is time. The result of this is the game runs at the same speed on any PC but the graphics are smoother on a higher spec PC because the render is done more frequently.How do you achieve the same in AS3? - how can I time the render? - when is the actual render done?. Do I simply time the exit from my base class and also the entrance into it, is the difference simply my 'render time' - of course flash may do other things during the exit/enter of my function.I'l looking to maintain a frame rate of 50fps on the logic with a render 'when can'

I have an object on the field, 'ball', and three buttons: 'left', 'right', 'stop'. What I want is that when Left is pressed, ball starts travelling to the left at a speed of 7. Same with RIGHT, and STOP stops the movement. What I don't want is that the ball moves only when you hold down the LEFT or RIGHT buttons, which is all that I can achieve so far.

what I am doing is an animated flash version of a rockola bubbler jukebox. Problem is, the bubbles. I have tried just doing something simple with movie clips and motion paths, just on the animator side / no actionscript code. I wouldnt mind using AS code, but I am pretty novice at it ( very novice actually ) and am having troubles.I cannot get a constant stream of bubbles though and it looks bad.

I'm trying to get a movieclip to constantly rotate either left or right. At first I set this._rotation=-1 Then I was thinking of using
if (this._rotation==1) {
this._rotation = -1;
But this only makes the object rotate 1 degree and then stop. How do I make it constantly rotate?

I do not understand how coordinate systems and movieclips work. When I add a movieclip to the stage and set it's position I expect it to appear there. If I have a movieclip with it's center in the middle, and I add it at 0,0 to my stage I expect it to appear in themiddle.nstead when I add a movieclip to my stage the stage gets bigger... even though the movieclip I added doesn't extend past any bounds of the stage. When I try to make an object tween from one position to another it works half the time but as i add and remove children it begins to fail because the coordinate system is constantly changing.
How can I enforce a static coordinate system on my stage? Or how can I be sure that when I make a tween to move a movieclip from point A to point B that point B won't move around in the time that it's animating?t seems with flash that every time I encounter a problem I am boggled by how little sense it makes and how hard it is to find any information about it. I must be doing something terribly wrong.

maybe this is something small I'm overlooking, but I can't figure out how to pull this offI have an XML file that keeps data on my tilesheets. Currently it keeps info on the width and height of the tiles (works fine), but I also want to tell my program what part of ananimation it belongs to. I have a class set up that keeps some constants on the state of the object, that will decide it's animation. For example, if the state equals"PlatformState.WALKING", I alternate between tiles 1, 2 and 3, if the state is"PlatformState.FALLING", It alternates between 4 and 5.The static constant PlatformState.WALKING is a uint with value 0, FALLING has value 1, etc. But I don't want to put the rough values in the XML, but the constant names.

I was wondering what the code to get something to go to a whole pixel value is. I'm using pixel fonts inside of a movieclip and when the movie clip is moved through actionscript and lands in a different spot with easing, the fonts look bad because i suspect that they are no longer on pixel values.

How do I programatically get the pixel dimensions of my SWF. I tried using stage.width and stage.height, but this seems to be a tight bounding box on all the objects in the video, not the actual viewing area. I also want these pixel dimensions to be accurate as javascript dynamically resizes this SWF.

I am trying to get an object to track my mouse on press and i am using a tween. However, the nature of the tween is such that the time taken for the object would move would always be constant despite the distance.
I would like to make the object travel at a constant speed regardless of the distance. Is it correct for me to use a tween? If not what should I be using?The code for my tween is as follows.
map_mc.tracker_mc._x = map_mc._xmouse;map_mc.tracker_mc._y = map_mc._ymouse;startx = map_mc.crosshair_mc._x;endx = map_mc.tracker_mc._x;starty = map_mc.crosshair_mc._y;endy = map_mc.tracker_mc._y;
trackTweenx = new Tween(map_mc.crosshair_mc, "_x", Regular.easeIn, startx, endx, spd, true);trackTweeny = new Tween(map_mc.crosshair_mc, "_y", Regular.easeIn, starty, endy, spd, true);
map_mc.tracker_mc is the mouse cursor that would appear when onPress while the map_mc.crosshair_mc is the object that would track my cursor's movements.
