I'm a CS4 developer, working in Flash, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, etc. I love Adobe products, but I am getting pretty weary of Flash Player updates coming every other day, sometimes every day. I work on several computers, both at work and at home, so the inconvenience of having to stop and go through the update process is multiplied. I know it's not usually a time-consuming process, but still, why so frequent?
It might not be so bad if not for all the other self-updating applications on my systems, not the least of which are the various Windows updates. It's just a little obnoxious.
So I been trying to import a psd file in flash to animate using diifferent layers from Photoshop. The problem is there's always artifacts around the image once it imports. I can't seem to get rid of themwhen I need clean shapes to animate. When I go back to reclean the image in photoshop, it looks crisp and I don't see obvious artifacts spots as I do in flash.
So how does one get clean image shapes from photoshop or detect artifacts before going through the trouble of importing?
I have 2 images, a base and a top. I want the top to rotate to face an object but the base to remain constant. I can get close but when the top rotates it is rotating around the corner of the rectangle it is placed inside of rather than the center. Here's the AS code for the object.....but the important elements are bolded.

I have Adobe Flash CS 5 and have been having difficulties trying to get a created tween to move at a constant speed. I have been converting a graphic I've created to a symbol and turning it into a motion tween, however I have only figured out how to move the tween on a frame by frame basis. Is there a way I can map out the full trajectory of the tween and then set it to travel along that pathway at a constant speed rather than moving from point to point within a certain number of frames? The desired result is a green circle that will bounce off the edges of the computer screen/window as it moves along at a constant speed in the appropriate direction. I am a flash novice and have been fiddling with the program for a few days

I am a release engineer in a development who is writing flex/air application I have no previous experience with flash in the past, and I am asked to generate flex doc using asdoc this is the error I am dealing with

In my movie i have a link button with following, simple, function creating a link:

lately i've associated a class file (.as) to my movie and immediately after, when publishing the movie i got the following error message: 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: URLRequest. as well as a couple of other related error messages: 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method URLRequest. 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method navigateToURL. when i remove the link to the class file, the problem goes away. also, i have checked the class file for mentioning of "URLRequest" and nothing is there.
Status:
- I imported an AVI video clip to Flash converting it to FLV
- I published the project
- I put the files on my web server
- It automatically starts playing when you go to the web page

But I can't find their download sample And, they say click on Frame-1 and press F9 then put code snippit in after line 7 But, I see no Action Script when I click on Frame 1 and press F9... a window opens but no code appears...just a long menu on the left.
I recently modified a single page website for a family member (for fun). The family member had someone make a flash object a year ago at the very top of the page that cycles through a few different colors on the hair--the page can be viewed here [URL] She has asked me to see how to make it so the hair cycles through the colors continuously instead of just once--is this possible?

Details:
- Clip needs to be rasterized and not vectorized (hence the flv format)
- Dimensions are 1400 by 514
- No Interactivity, just a simple looping 4 second clip
I have this flash movie I've been working on for awhile. I've received in these forums. I have my file set to load an array of swfs. Now, though, I'm wondering how to keep it from looping. At the end of the last swf, I want the movie to go to the last swf and then just stop. Here is my code:

So i'm making a flash text timeline animation that should loop continously.it goes continuesly but once its finished it disapears and goes back to frame 1.is there any as or way to stop the text from disapearing and have that nice flow of scrolling text?

Im using hitTestObject to start a mc playing, but it continues to loop even though there is a stop(); on its last frame.

The mc "rolly" is the one being looped. Its animation is within itself (hope that makes sense) it is not looping the main timeline.
I am producing a banner ad and I need to have this 15 second animation loop two times (for a total of 30 seconds) and then stop. If this does call for AS?
View 3 RepliesI have an MP3 of helicopter blades that's about 4 seconds. I put this as a layer in my movie of the helicopter, yet the sound "hesitates" when the movie loops. The audio goes from edge to edge of every frame of the movie, yet I still get the hesitation.

I've been using the Adobe CS5 collection for nearly a year now but today is the first day I've decided to give Flash Professional a go.I'd tried creating a looping animation in Flash Catalyst but have had no luck at all (I'd followed a couple of suggestions such as using an flv movie as a timer but nothing seems to work for some reason), so I thought I would do it the proper way in Flash Professional.So far I have figured out how to import images, convert them to symbols,create a motion tween with key frames and do the animation. All this is good, but now I want the animation to jump back to a few seconds after the movie begins and play until the end,then jump back to that point again.Basically when the animation first starts it fades in for a half second or so,and went I want it to loop around I want this fade in missed out.

The animation should stop after first time it runs and not play again. 2. Further, the animation should remain stopped throughout the duration of the visitors session so that when they view other pages they don't have to see the animation reloaded with each new page they visit. So far I'm unable to even get the animation to even stop on the first page load, despite having taken the following steps: 1. Created an "Actions" layer dedicated solely to actions.2. I have 3 different MovieClips inside my library,
I can put each one severally to the stage,
but I can't put all of them using for loop and addChild();
I have a menu bar which is made by looping through an array of the menu options (and submenus) and then attaching a menuitem movieclip in each case (then setting the text). The menuitem movieclip contains a dynamic text field and also actionscript to draw the background depending on the current settings (colour, border etc).
I have a variable in my root fla file called menuwidth and this is used within the menuitem movieclip to define the width of the menuitem. When i set this to one value it works absolutely fine and creates the menus accordingly. i can change this to whatever size i want (including calculating the size of the largest option and then setting it to that, to ensure all options fit). This works great.I have been trying to code it so that the menu options can be different sizes (in the event of a horizontal menu) so that you can have one that is wider than another. The code has become quite long (due to submenu and other functionality) but in a nutshell it is:

I want to trim a sound and then let it loop in a slideshow. The sound -- a roaring crowd at a soccer game-- should loop as a slideshow plays. As the movie repeats the sound should continue to play. It doesn't have to be in sync.
This works if I use Streaming, but there's a gap at the beginning of the movie as if the sound was being loaded over and over again.
I've been advised not to use Streaming, but if I don't, the sound is reproduced in its entirety-- there is no trimming.
I have CS3.I encode my video with the Encoder, then I import it into Flash. From there, I cannot figure out how to make the embedded flv file to loop.
View 5 RepliesI created a new layer, draw a rectangle, converted it to button, made its alpha to 0 and then added a snippet to go to the url. But when it played, the action only worked after the first loop had finished. It didn't work at the beginning.
View 3 RepliesI have created a loop with 5 textfields (with 5 different names). The textfields autosizes and are in an array, so i can place every textfield as i want.
- But how do i create rollover and click events to these textfields?
- Is it possible to place this loop in a movieclip, where the movieclip autosizes according to the text in my text-array?
This is for a menu only with text - no graphic.
