Professional :: Make Tweens Move At A Constant Speed?
Feb 14, 2012
I have Adobe Flash CS 5 and have been having difficulties trying to get a created tween to move at a constant speed. I have been converting a graphic I've created to a symbol and turning it into a motion tween, however I have only figured out how to move the tween on a frame by frame basis. Is there a way I can map out the full trajectory of the tween and then set it to travel along that pathway at a constant speed rather than moving from point to point within a certain number of frames? The desired result is a green circle that will bounce off the edges of the computer screen/window as it moves along at a constant speed in the appropriate direction. I am a flash novice and have been fiddling with the program for a few days
I want to have something on the screen move at a constant speed when a button is pressed. I'm not sure how to go about it. I have this for it to move 5 pixels at a time but I want it to move continually on holding the mouse down.
Basically what I am trying to accomplish is to make a rotating menu comprised of circles that are spinning at a slow constant speed, and when the mouse goes over a circle(button) the menu stops rotating.
I'm looking for some actionscript that will move a clip from one point to another, but in a curve. I've done one that tweens the x and y positions as well as the scaleX and scaleY that sort of does this.
Seems I've seen this sort of thing on YouTube at the end of watching a video. A set of small videos appear, they scale up in size and move to a new position, but they go up, and then down smoothly (thus, a 'curve');
I am trying to get an object to track my mouse on press and i am using a tween. However, the nature of the tween is such that the time taken for the object would move would always be constant despite the distance.
I would like to make the object travel at a constant speed regardless of the distance. Is it correct for me to use a tween? If not what should I be using?The code for my tween is as follows.
map_mc.tracker_mc is the mouse cursor that would appear when onPress while the map_mc.crosshair_mc is the object that would track my cursor's movements.
I am trying to write a script to move a ball MC smoothly across the stage, without using tweens. I have thus far been successful, but there is one problem: the way I have it set up, speed increases with distance! I need the speed to remain constant. I understand why, but I can't figure out what approach to take to make the speed constant.
ActionScript Code: var speed = 100; var newx, newy, distx, disty, speedt;[code].....
I cannot find how to have an object follow the mouse at a CONSTANT speed. The code I keep on finding is something like this:[code]I don't know if I'm just missing some really simple detail, or some major idea, but I'm pretty sure something as easy as this is possible.
I am using Flash 8 and AS2. I have been looking and looking, but I cannot find how to have an object follow the mouse at a Constant speed. The code I keep on finding is something like this: Code: onClipEvent (load) { _x = 0; _y = 0; speed = 5; } onClipEvent (enterFrame) { endX = _root._xmouse; endY = _root._ymouse; _x += (endX-_x)/speed; _y += (endY-_y)/speed; } The "/speed" part makes the object move slower the closer it gets.
I need to do an endless horizontal scroll of elements within a parent MovieClip.No matter what ever method I try, an element of 'drift' occurs and eventually the elements start to overlap.I've tried using relative recursive tweening for each element according but this method seems prone to quite a bit of error after repeated starts and stops.
//CODE START function doScroll():void { TweenLite.to(this, .25, {x:"20", ease:Linear.easeNone,onUpdate:checkPos,onComplete:doScroll}); } //CODE END
I've reverted to doing absolute tweens to a predefined position using a contant speed. This seems to be more accurate but still some 'drift' occurs.
//CODE START //_dest is predefined var speed:Number = 500; var dist:Number = this.x - _dest;
I have to load some external data in a text box and scroll it vertically with a constant speed. And also give link to each sentence seperatly.what i have done is scroll text vertically,but it doesn't show all the text line as text file could have many lines even 100+.
and theres probably a simple solution but i dont know. I have an object travel at a constant speed across the stage area from left to right, How do i stop it at the Right side of the stage??
I want to add an animated .gif file to my movie. So I created a new symbol and then imported the .gif file to the stage. This created the symbol containing the animated .gif.I dragged the symbol onto the scene where I want it. However, the animation seems to play at a different speed (fps) than normal. So I changed the fps of the symbol (at bottom of Timeline where it says "fps"). But for some reason this changes the fps of the rest of the entire movie.
I'm working on a slide show which includes 3 sections that fade in and out automatically as well as can be navigated via buttons.Everything is working fine until I include a 3d tween animation of a hanging sign.it doesn't have any action script - just a 3d tween where the sign swings however once I include it in the slide show, the whole thing goes crazy:The fade in and out of tweens don't work.sometimes the slide show skips and everything start moving very fast as if the timeline was fast forwarded... can someone please helpe me and point me in the right direction of where to even start trouble shooting it? The problem is that it acts as if there was some kind of script added however there's no action script included in the hanging sign.
I have the following code which will bring my Banner_mc onto the middle of my Introduction page with some effects. Now, I want this movie clip to wait for a while and then move to right until it disappear with the same effects. How can I do that?
i saw a flash movie clip used on a site and I like the way it was designed. The whole length of the file file is stable and then only the image outline slides into view on the screen. i have tried to do that but my whole image slides in just like normal motion tween.
I have some basic experience with actionscript but have hit a wall with this. I am working on a swimming pool simulation and would like a swimmer to do a length of the pool in a fixed time. When a swimmer reaches the end they hit a pad and turn and this repeats. I can to the collision detection fine even have a running time. How can I for example get a length to take 30seconds.
the conent will not be able to be seen unless the user hits the arrow keys on there key board. So i need to make a group of objects i can make into a movie clip and than inside that movie clip make an animation that plays the squirrel running. i will pause here to ask two things i dont know how to do i want the squirrel to have an animation when standing still where it flicks its tail (like a real squirrel would). and also how would i flip the squirrel so when the left key is pressed it points left and when the right arrow is pressed it faces left? and my main question when it reaches the edge of the stage the extended background that runs off stage moves over to reavel more content. as well as not have the squirrel run off stage? in short i am using the squirrel to view the full pages content.
I have an object on the field, 'ball', and three buttons: 'left', 'right', 'stop'. What I want is that when Left is pressed, ball starts travelling to the left at a speed of 7. Same with RIGHT, and STOP stops the movement. What I don't want is that the ball moves only when you hold down the LEFT or RIGHT buttons, which is all that I can achieve so far.
well i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.
orry couldn't resist. Back to AS3, i am using function flyCamera() to simply - overview of 4 cubes- fly into/thru each one of themThe second part looks just like squares being tweened. How can make the animation a bit more sexier??
Using Tween class maybe? I tried the easeOut. But if will write 2 Tween, the 2nd one will overwrite the 1st one, so I only see the obj moving in the 2nd Tween direction, not the 1st Tween direction. I know the coordinates for the 2nd Tween below is not correct (cos all coordinates shld follow the defined reference point), so I need to find out the logo's width and height. But is alright now cos it is for testing purpose.
I made an SWF animation with classic tweens and which works inside the current project.ut when published as SWF, importing into another flash project... it does a constant loop.
I have a shape on a layer and I have used a bunch of motion tweens on it. I need to dynamically move that shape but I can not figure out a way to accomplish this. Have I painted myself into a corner with this one?
I got a flash movie clip (Walking_Man.swf) which has a "Man" character who walks but on same place. It means he doesn't move a bit on stage. Now, I would like to give a realistic look by moving him from left to right. How can I do it?
I would like to write an Actionscript 3 code for this purpose.
When I want to ask for a small fee for my app, I'm not allowed to use TweenLite. So I started thinking I could probably replace the tweens with Flash's built-in Tweens. BUT I'm also using rotationY. Flash doesn't support this as far as I know. Are there Tween engines out there with a copyleft?
