View 4 RepliesI have Adobe Flash CS 5 and have been having difficulties trying to get a created tween to move at a constant speed. I have been converting a graphic I've created to a symbol and turning it into a motion tween, however I have only figured out how to move the tween on a frame by frame basis. Is there a way I can map out the full trajectory of the tween and then set it to travel along that pathway at a constant speed rather than moving from point to point within a certain number of frames? The desired result is a green circle that will bounce off the edges of the computer screen/window as it moves along at a constant speed in the appropriate direction. I am a flash novice and have been fiddling with the program for a few days

How to make the objects in your flash move without tweening? example, I have 2 retangles and I want the 1st rectangle to move left and bounce at the edge of the scene. And the 2nd rectangle move to the same direction but not the same speed.
Rectangles are: rectangle1 and rectangle2

I'm trying to develop a SWF Api that consists of a game that makes random objects fall from the top, each of them has different points, and then the points the player gets should be stored into a dinamic text called score, when the player doesn't take the ball, loses a life. Then, if the player catches it, the ball disappears and gives the points to the player.

I'm trying to create a flash demo for my prof and we want green dots to move randomly across the screen without ever overlapping each other.I saw the kirupa tutorial on random motion which is really good. View 5 RepliesI am working on this piece of flash: [URL]now, what I want to do is have cars going along the roads at random speeds, or just travelling along the roads in random orders, whichever... anyways, as you can see, I am going to have a menu on the left hand side, which targets text into the scroll box on the right, and I want that to be able to happen without the movie re-starting everytime the cars finish going round, so the cars are going round and round in the background, and the layer on top is static. I'm trying to make some butterflies move around on a mouse over. The catch? I'm trying to get random movement but not in straight lines, rather I need curves (or lots of very short lines) as butterflies are not on rails. My AS is pretty weak in this kind of area (or any area)

I have some basic experience with actionscript but have hit a wall with this. I am working on a swimming pool simulation and would like a swimmer to do a length of the pool in a fixed time. When a swimmer reaches the end they hit a pad and turn and this repeats. I can to the collision detection fine even have a running time. How can I for example get a length to take 30seconds.

However, when I call the function in a setInterval, I want the MC to rotate with random speed. I did it this way but to no avail: setInterval(rotateme, random(2000)); I want the MC rotation to randomly speed up down to zero and slow down to 2000.

View 3 RepliesI have a rock movieclip that is in an array and a timed function that places an instance of the rock on the stage every 5 seconds. So every 5 seconds a rock is placed onto the stage. What I want is when a rock is placed onto the stage it rotates either clockwise or anticlockwise. So every 5 seconds a rock appears and it will rotate either clockwise or anitclockwise. I also want the rocks to rotate at a random speed. So every time a rock appears its rotation speed will be different. I also need the rocks to move in a random direction. So every time a rock appears it will travel in a different direction to the previous rock.

A familiar error message appears, "A term is undefined and has no properties". I'm sure it refers to the object I'm trying to spawn, however it rejects every object I refer to. I have randomly placed 40 pennies on the stage using a for loop, as well as making some of them smaller. They all start at the top of the stage and, right now, all fall down the stage at the same time.My trouble is trying to get the larger pennies to fall faster than the smaller pennies. I'm not sure how to single them out by size to control the speed.here is the code I have. View 2 Repliesgenerating a lot of random numbers and running them through movie clips to generate random letters. I've set the frame rate to 21 (which translates to 19 on a Mac... close as you can get it seems) but Mac users see everything in slo-mo. Alas, folks with slower PCs also see stuff in slo-mo so I'm thinking it's the math stuff screwing things up rather than the mac stuff.
Does anyone know of a way to simplify random number generating for slower CPUs to keep up? The problem might also be that there are a ton of math-calculated alpha transitions that I could kill if necessary. I'm also wondering if "setInterval" times are treated differently per computer -- some machines seem to treat an interval of 1000 as though it's 10,000. Is this a function of the cpu speed? I keep running into speed problems like this with AS and it kinda sucks. A modern day version of the old browser/DHTML display issues. They work fine on my machine, but not everyone has a new PC.

well i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.

Using Tween class maybe? I tried the easeOut. But if will write 2 Tween, the 2nd one will overwrite the 1st one, so I only see the obj moving in the 2nd Tween direction, not the 1st Tween direction. I know the coordinates for the 2nd Tween below is not correct (cos all coordinates shld follow the defined reference point), so I need to find out the logo's width and height. But is alright now cos it is for testing purpose.

I currently have an animation that rotate infinitely but it's just too fast to begin with... I tried lowering the fps to 12 but it would just be skip.... Is there a possibility to make the animation slower by this code:

I'm working on my site and I have a random background script setup. Heres the code that Im using now.[code]...
Now I love the way thats its working and but one thing that is kinda crappy is that sometimes it suffers from repeating the same background a couple of times before going to another random background. Now I know that its because the script is working properly but can anyone think of a method that I could use to make it not be able to pull up the last background that it has already loaded? I dont want to make it static because not only do I have this setup for when you enter the site but also its random when you click on one of the nav buttons because I want to try to keep my site dynamic.
