Basically i need to check to see if a website on another domain is online. how would i do this with actionscript 3? I need to change a piece of text if the app cannot reach a specified server.
View 1 RepliesMy Flash file works fine on local file, but when loaded to hosting site, nothing shows. Zilch. Not had this problem before, but I've not tried with this hosting service before, which is GoDaddy. Could that be the problem? Or is there something wrong with my coding? site.com/check.php and if that displays a 1 it will then go to site.com/links.php and it will have a list of links such as ggg.com sss.com dsd.com
and it will randomly pick one and open a new window with it.but if the flash gose to site.com/check.php and it has a 0 it dose nothing .
i have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. How can i fix this without resizing the site. i want the users to see with the proportions that i have now.. ijust want a scroll on the browser.

I tried saving SWF under a new name, and a few oher things but it is not working!!!! Been racking my brains for 2weeks....

This is a quiz application that gets the questions and answers to each questions from a ColdFusion web service. There are three types of questions, True or False, Multiple Choice with single selection, and Multiple Choice with multiple selections. So, based upon the question type, the application would dynamically generate the appropriate amount of radio buttons or check boxes for the users to select. I got these working. The problem that I am having is, I am not sure how to check what the users have actually selected. In some other forums and posts on other web site, it said that I can use event.currentTarget.selectedValue to get the user selection. But when I actually do it, I got a run-time error saying, "Property selectedValue not found on mx.controls.FormItem and there is no default value." My question is, what do I need to do to capture the user selections?

What is the best way to create an interface between what you see on the screen, a bot's algorithm and clicking of the mouse. So basically, when I'm playing a texas hold'em on face book and if I get AA I want the bot to click all-in. If I don't get AA I want to fold. This is just an example, not the actual strategy. Or another examples would be routing tasks in farmville. So basically. It has to grab a picture of the screen. recognize patterns and convert them into an input of the algorithm. The output algorithms would be clicking on some other (may be same) patterns.

View 1 RepliesI'm in the process of building a Flash Electronic Press Kit. Anyways, I converted a Video I had of him from WMV to FLV and then imported into Flash CS3. It played fine when I uploaded it to the server on the computer I had it on. But anyone else who looks at it has told me that they're stuck at the waiting screen for ages and It doesn't load at all. the flash4 published set of files, with a variety of skins tried, works well on the local drive, even when moved to a different folder structure. when index.html is opened on the remote web site, the browser (firefox3 and ie7) displays the player conrols and a rotating horizontal barber pole, green and black, but no flash video.some of the skins i've used are: SkinOverPlaySeekFullscreen.swf, nOverPlayStopSeekCaptionVol.swf and SkinUnderPlay.swf. all work locally but do not play the .flv file on the web site. no problem playing flv movies on the remote web site if the file set is created by dreamweaver.
