Flash :: Not Showing Online / When Loaded To Hosting Site
Nov 16, 2009
My Flash file works fine on local file, but when loaded to hosting site, nothing shows. Zilch. Not had this problem before, but I've not tried with this hosting service before, which is GoDaddy. Could that be the problem? Or is there something wrong with my coding? Here's the URL: [URL] The Flash is 1020 px wide, 350 px high, and its supposed to be right under the spry menu (which isn't working either for some reason! No drop and wrong color for rollover!).
When I changed hosting from the companies hosting to my own personal GoDaddy hosting everything went right, except for 2 flash slide shows (Simple rotating images). They just apear as clear boxes now. You can see what I am talking about here: [URL] and here [URL] . You will notice the empty large empty box on the right in both pages. When you right click on it the browser recognizes that it is flash. On the Piza site I tried taking out the original code and entering the flash object via Dreamweaver CS5, but that yeilded the same results (I only mention this because the code on that site will thus look a bit different).
I am in the middle of creating a Flash website for our baseball association. It will probably be below 2 megs in size. for a low-cost or free web hosting site? I do not know where to start.
I was able to get it all to work well. I finished the Flash based simple quiz game I was making. I apologize if the title is vague, but I thought this best described the issue at hand for me. If not, I hope the detailed question below can be of better use. What I want to do with this flash, which I've published as a swf, html file, is to upload them online to a forum I've been working on. This forum is a free creating forum, Forumotion. Anyway I have the files all done, but need a way to host it on the forum now.
I've been searching and doing research for free hosting sites to upload my swf file to, but have not had much luck. I was just wondering if anyone knew any good, legitimate, and preferably free hosting sites, which I could create a domain space on. I am also unsure if it is possible to do such a thing with a flash/swf files that have been created in Action Script 3.
Flash CS4 Pro I created a Flash video, which when previewing locally works fine, but then I upload the files to the webserver, then nothing is displayed, I only see a white area where the Flash video should have been (no broken image icon, see the attached jpg file, it shown an white area where the video is suppose to appear).
I've finally finished my flash xml gallery, and have tested it to my complete satisfaction using dreamweaver. When I do a preview from dreamweaver, or just open up the gallery html file from explorer the swf loads the xml file and all the images flawlessly, everything works. However when I move the site for testing on my mac laptop it loads the xml file but not the images. When I upload it to my test website it doesn't even load the xml file. I just copied the root folder over in all cases I dont understand why it wont work. You can see it here: [URL]
Could this be some export setting I am using incorrectly? Why would it work locally on a windows machine, and not locally on a mac or online on either. I tried re exporting the swf after saving it as CS3 from CS4 and changing the local playback security to only allow network. So now it loads the xml data online but not locally. Thumbnails still aren't showing up online though.
Basically i need to check to see if a website on another domain is online. how would i do this with actionscript 3? I need to change a piece of text if the app cannot reach a specified server.
I am working on one flash website. i uploaded it to online . it working fine in FFIt is not working in IE.andafter intro when i click enter site button home page loading but not showing preloader it is showing only wight screen
I have been asked to get a website up and running. It is a Flash site, which works fine in Firefox and Safari, but its just a white screen in IE. Does anyone know why?the website isand the scrip is : -
<head> <script> if ((navigator.userAgent.indexOf('iPhone') != -1) ||
I'm creating a website for somebody, and it works perfect offline, i have two empty movie clips on the main site. And one loads an external video player(swf), and the other loads the external accordion menu (swf) of the site. I test it offline and it works perfect. But when i test it online (hosted) its not loading the accordian menu.
I am using Papervision2 great white. I am also using imported 3D objects from maya exported as collada files. Now working in flash everything shows up fine and dandy, no problems. However when I upload it (every file actually, I never move anything just in case) the avatar im using, a van, doesnt show up at all. The other DAE files do because they arent using any textures. The van has a UV texture applied to it, so I'm assuming that's what screwing it up. I am working inside flash. I'm not using any external AS files.
var daeFile: DAE; daeFile=new DAE; daeFile.load("van2.dae"); var universe: DisplayObject3D;
I am going mental with this one. I have a dynamic text field on one layer, and action layer on top of that. Render text as html on, and needed characters embedded.
Code: System.useCodepage = true; var format = new TextField.StyleSheet();
I'm running into a very strange issue when testing an application I'm building online: loaded images aren't showing.When testing locally everything works fine.I'm retrieving the images from an Adobe Scene7 server, and there's a crossdomain.xml in place there with the correct entries. I'm getting the right bytesLoaded and bytesTotal. I'm not getting an IOError Event.What could be wrong?
Here's a piece of the offending code: (I replaced Event.COMPLETE with Event.INIT, hoping it might make a difference, but it doesn't) [AS]loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.IN IT, onImageComplete);
I have a full flash site which uses swfobject to embed it 100% height and width. I'm using swffit to force a browser scroll bar for pages with a large amount of content. This is all fine and works perfectly. I also have the content in HTML format, as alternative content and this also works apart from in order to get the flash swfobject to work I need to add the overflow = hidden in the CSS, like:
I have developed a simple chat room but how do I go about showing who is online and what happen if the user close the web browser without disconnect, will the user name in the online list be remove immediately? I use mx.messaging.channels.StreamingAMFChannel and set <subscription-timeout-minutes>3</subscription-timeout-minutes>
My swf file on my site doesn't show up on the first time. It shows my loader and intro but I have to refresh around 3 times for it to show the full site after my intro.
Nothing on the screen, nothing in the console. I do, however, see adl.exe hanging in the processes and eating up memory - i assumed its the loaded, but invisible application.
Update:Created a blank Flex 4.5 (Air 3.1) project that changes the background - and it worked out fine. Tried to use this config (tweaked the filename) - and it doesn't work. Seems the problem only applies to mobile projects.
After publishing my fla file and uploading it, everything seems s Ok on large monitors like 23 inch. It works with Explorer firefox and Safari but, looking at the site on a laptop, the top of the site is chopped up. There is no way to redraw the windowThe issue seems to be only on laptops from 12 inch to 17 inch.It looks like the site is too big for the screen so, the top area is not viewable. As my buttons are at the top, you cannot navigate through the site There are no scrolling bar on the right hand side so you cannot scroll up or down. I am including some screen shotsI tried a few things in the Publish settings and things like the percentage and
Im sorta beginner at AC3 and i've made a little FLA file wich i a want to compile and upload to a host for load it to my website.However, before i compile it i would like to put restrictions for it not to be loaded from other sites it might be requested by flash insert methods or whatever.Is there a way to retrieve info about the site or location the flash (swf) is being requested to be loaded/run?
I have a SWF that can be hosted in several different places on the web (including facebook.com). How can I determine which page is hosting my SWF from within Actionscript?
I have an AS2 swf that has an array that is updated when a user clicks on items on the screen. The array stores the currently selected items. This As2 swf is hosted by an AS3 swf loaded in using Loader class and a local connection between them is managed by swfBridge. I want to know what the best way for both AS3 and AS2 swfs to share this array is? or how can I call a function in the AS2 (client) swf and return the array to the AS3 (host) swf when it needs to read the items from the array?
I'm using loadSound to load in external MP3 files and they load and sound great on the local machine but don't work when I upload the files to the web. I'm pretty stumped. The MP3 files are only like 10k and 60k so it can't be a size issue (I'm on a T1 line here at work too). Here is the site: [URL] Basically when you walk close to the fire you should hear the fire crackling and it will get louder as you get even closer. Everything works on my PC, just not online. Here's the AS code for the fire:
I am loading 2 external text files into my SWF.. I believe that my action script is correct as it works pefect offline.. However as soon as I uploaded it to my webspace, both text boxes have the "undefined" text sitting there.. The problem doesn't exsist when I only have 1 external text file loaded..
//load 1st text file myData1 = new LoadVars(); myData1.onLoad = function() {
I'm trying to find a reliable yet cost-effective solution for hosting our small collection of .f4v videos. We're a small company so price is a major consideration. We also need the video to stream.I found Vimeo and it's cheap but they don't provide streaming.
Viddler looks like a good solution. It's is a little more expensive but streaming is available.We're trying to avoid enterprise solutions such as Akamai, etc.Any others out there?I also know about Red5 but prefer to have it hosted.
I'm trying to request to an API method on the same server that is hosting the SWF file. I'm getting a security error 2048. This occurs whether I use POST or GET, and leaving the request data blank doesn't improve things. Nothing is sent in either case, and I get a SecurityErrorEvent to stare at. Everything works smoothly from the IDE.
The applet isn't trying to load the crossdomain.xml file, so it apparently isn't considering the request to be cross-domain, and shouldn't be any other domains involved. Loading images from the swfRoot works fine.
Is there anything else that could be causing this error? Furthermore, is there any way I can find out more details about what exactly is going on? Tracing the toString of the ErrorEvent only gives me "Error 2048" - I've seen reference in other questions to messages for this error that read "cannot load data from XXX", but I can't seem to get one of these (I'm using Flash CS5).
Is it possible to use Flash (or a Flash compatible service) to allow players in a game to host their own games (using their own bandwidth), through a web browser? In a way, to run their own game servers (for a Flash in-browser game) from their computer, but through a web browser using Flash?
I am working on a full browser flash site and just realized the coding was as3. I really need this to work with AS2 and I am a noob at flash. I have figured it out mostly except I keep getting one error. "The class or interface 'flash.events.Event' could not be loaded." Here is the script:
I switched to Linux in order run zen cart and now Flash isn't playing on my sites. My host says in need different scripts for Linux, but can't/won't say wha
