Flash :: Detect Whether An Flv File Contains Video, Audio Or Both?
May 26, 2010
Is there a way to detect whether an FLV file contains video, audio or both? The flv file is streamed to a flash client, that needs to show a certain view depending on the data in wrapped in the flv file.
I'm having problems with embedding a video into my flash file. The visual is fine, but how do I get the audio to play? The video is .mov file right now.
I'm trying to force the Flash player to play video files without showing screens. I did try to set vidDisplay.visible to false. But it seemed not working at all.I was doing was try to build a generic media player. Whatever the source is(audio or video), the control panel always the same, namely, a mp3 player panel is always displayed:However, when I stream in a video file, it would end up overriding mp3 panel with a partial video screen. I don't have enough reputation to upload images...
I'm new in AS and trying create util such Youtube's "My webcam". Here's a part of my code:
[Code]....
Can't attach video object or stream to spark.components.VideoPlayer to view video and don't know how to convert video to flv contents for sending in POST form.
i am new to actionscript i need to download .mp3 and vedio file form my remote server how to do this give me any example source code for this.when i download .pdf its downloading properly. but not audio.
I have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer
i need to play back mp3 file in flash. but i have more one output device installed in my pc. the question is:- can flash list all (detects) audio output device installed in my pc then let me pick one of them to play back sound by selected output device?
I'm looking for a (free) flash player that I can embed in my site and use to play a .m4a (.mp4 with AAC audio) file that will be obtained using a URL (i.e. it's not local to the server hosting the web page).I've tried searching on google for one, but either I'm searching wrong or no one has made such a thing. Ideally this would be very simple (small user interface with play button and maybe a progress bar) and it would be easy to have multiple instances of on an html page (can create the player with an <object> tag).
I am using Flex and FMS to develop a video conferencing application. I am using DynamicStream to automatically switch incoming streams to the appropriate bitrate depending on the available bandwidth. I was wondering if there is anyway in which I can instruct the DynamicStream to allow more bandwidth for audio (obviously at the cost of losing some frames from the video).
using flash8 and i have a netstream object streaming progressive video... how do i detect the flv is complete? using buffer.flush doesnt work how i need as it flushes the buffer slightly before the video is finished.
I have a SWF movie (only animation, no Actionscript) and I would like to programatically extract the resulting video and audio and whatever resolution.
I ran a simple live video streaming application for the first time with actual users and ran into a couple of serious performance issues that had not turned up during testing. In this instance there was one video stream from a live web cam and used FMLE at 150 kbps using VP6 and MP3 @22k. There were 16 clients and everything worked pretty good for about 30 minutes. (although some clients said their audio and video were out of sync by up to 3 seconds)
Then individual clients would have either the video freeze or the video would continue and the audio would stop. These clints had to "disconnect" and then "connect" again to the application. This happened to all of the clients at one time or another for several minutes. I stopped and restarted the FMLE with progessively lower bandwidth settings down to 75 kbps but still clients were having the same issue.
I eventually stopped the FMLE and used the applications built in publisher at 45 kbps and that seemed to eliminate the freeze/dropping issue. But of course the video quality was very poor and some clients still reported that the audio was out of sync with the video. The server hosting the FMS application is a quad processor dell with lots of memory and network connectivity. The Flash Media Admin Console performance graph showed the total Bandwidth as 3 Mbps at maximum.
my question today deals with Flash AS3 video buffering. (Streaming or Progressive) I want to be able to detect when the video is being buffered, so I can display some sort of animation letting the user know to wait just a little longer.
Currently my video will start up, hold on frame 1 for 3-4 secs then play. Kinda giving the impression that the video is paused or broken :(
Update
NetStatusEvent from livedocs. It seems to me that the key status to be working in is "NetStream.Buffer.Empty" so I added some code in there to see if this would trigger my animation or a trace statement. No luck yet, however when the Buffer is full it will trigger my code :/ Maybe my video is always somewhere between Buffer.Empty and Buffer.Full that's why it won't trigger any code when I test case for Buffer.Empty?
public function netStatusHandler(event:NetStatusEvent):void { // handles net status events
I have a NetConnection attached to a NetStream, which is in turn attached to a Video. As you can guess, this is a video player. I've looked through the public properties of all three classes and could not find an "isPlaying" property - a boolean that would tell me video is currently running (and not paused, stopped, nor corrupted). ok im having some trouble importing video files.files such as "windows media audio/video" file , import fine but everything else, it just imports the last like 9 frames.
ive only had this problem after i switched to my new computer, which is WINDOWS XP, and before it was WINDOWS 98. not sure if that has to do with it.
I need to find a way to detect keystrokes when the flash file is not selected and send that information to an .swf file. The file would be stored locally (not on the internet).
I have a video on my site (progressive download, flv file, imported using flash cs3 video encoder) and I used the FLVPlayback component with a simple skin. The video works great, my only problem is that I want the sound to stop when I click on other buttons on the page. The way I designed the site (maybe not a great set up) everything is in one big swf file, so when you click on another button on the page to show another project, the sound from the video file (that is no longer showing) is still playing.URL...
I have a video playing on my page. I want to show and hide some div's when the video reaches a certain point. Lets say hide something on 10th second and show it again on 20th second.I can easily do it in HTML5 with video tag and currentTime attribute but for IE I have to create the same functionality and I think with flash based videos (from YouTube or something like that). Is there a way to detect the current time of a video playing on my website, embeded from YouTube, Metacafe or any other video sharing site?I know I could detect it in flash and make it run some JavaScript function but I don't have flash nor have the skills to do it in AS3.
I have some FLV video files to be reproduced sequentially by a Flash video player. Suppose v1.flv and v2.flv. I want the player to start playing v2.flv once v1.flv has reached the end. According to this forum, the onPlayStatus does not fire in progressive FLVs. What can be done? A snippet of what I am trying below:
public class MyClass extends Sprite { private var nc : NetConnection; private var ns : NetStream;
so this the code with it i am able to mix several trackswith a Shader done in pixel bender.the problem here i don't know when the mixing is finish or all the sound reache their endto be able to save the bytearray into a file any Event or something like that
audio from Flash CS3 Video overlapping stopping the FLVPlayback instance (which has an instance name of theVideo) when another button is clicked! How do I stop flv playback when user clicks a navigation button ...
I'm using the attached code to go from the main stage to one subset of .swf files (loaded movies) and I apparently have no problems with overlapping. Hell, the files even seem to unload themselves correctly. Then, when I go to my second subset of .swf files (with the exact same AS3 structure), which has a Flash Video file (made by the FLV Playback component), I get into an overlapping problem associated with the audio. How can I stop, cancel, or unload the audio when the file is clicked away from (the user selects another button on the mainstage)?
I want my users to record audio/video and post that to other users.
Is it possible to record video through Flash's and receive encoded video on server side without any further processing (i.e. just saving the stream to a file)? I did some Google search and found that it's possible with new microphone API [URL] Did anyone tried that already? How easy is to use Red5 server for recording? How can i get the recorded video/audio file(s) from it? DO i've to write some logic for this?
Is it possible to have a Flash player that only plays the AAC audio of Flash video (FLV file)? In other words, we need the video muted and only play the audio.
This is the code i wrote in J2SE with Native java wrapper for Gstreamer. But alas it does not work in Web Browser, i am very upset what i can do now, i have no alternative to end this project. IS it impossible to use audio/video with Java Applet for Gstreamer or To build a CD/DVD quality audio ? (this is not targeted for world wide web, only web browsers between peer to peer or peer to 10 peer). ex: working sample as j2SE but same code does not ever work with java applet from browser.
[Code]...
Note: Follow up: In any web browser this native way works, when you have java. So JAVA applet works in any browser. Those who are like me, faced this problem, do not get confused.
is there any Java library out there that can help intercept video and audio streams being sent through the browser?
So for example, a video starts loading through a flash player using some Flash server, the java application would listen for video/audio stream and capture and write it to video on the disk.
