I made swf file that sends id to php, than php collects info from mysql by this id, and returns result, than flash does his work with that result. The problem is here, I will try to explain it as clearly as I can: everything works fine when I do that on the computer that has all the source files and of course xampp running.

I have pretty good basic "action script" skills for developing flash files and movies, but I don't know how to do dynamic things with asp, aspx, etc. I have a local application that runs form my computer and is not connected to the internet. The application keeps track of button clicks on each buttton as separate variables. Here is my question ... each time the flash movie runs and buttons are clicked, I want to record the clicks on each button (which exist in the application at runtime) and save them to something like an excel spreadsheeet or access database. Any easy way to do this without getting into server-side stuff?

Not to give too much away (of the game idea) but it would be similar to a "Simon" type game, with the only info being passed to each device either a score/amount of moves to beat or other simple piece of data.

I'm having a problem with flash/javascript/iframes. I have a flash banner that is positioned at a fixed position on the bottom of the screen. When I press a button on the banner, the page (which is an iframe) should change.
I got it to work using javascript. But it only works on the Internet. On my local computer it doesn't work. No error, nothing. it is a task for school (for my exams) so it should work only locally.

When I use the app from within my Flash environment I am able to retrieve the info, but once I post the swf to the website nothing happens. I"m posting to the same remote page. I've seen this performed for instance in webs where they sell sunglasses. The movie allows you to upload your own picture of yourself so that you can virtually try them on.
For example if I have 5 pdf files in a folder on the computer and then want to show these files in a swf file and if I then click on the pdf file open up the specific file. and if I remove or add a pdf file it will affect the list (its okay if its only updates the list when reloading the swf file)

View 1 RepliesMy Flex app downloads a bunch of images. When the user closes the browser window (or navigates away from the page), those images shouldn't be saved in the local cache. HTTP headers for the SWF file tells browser to fetch it from the website every time -- that is, it shouldn't save the SWF file locally. I just want to make sure that any of the images that the Flex app downloads isn't saved locally.
I checked Windows XP & Flash 9 for this. And nothing was stored locally. I assume this is true across all platforms and all versions of Flash greater than 9?

View 1 RepliesI have a mp3 player that i purchased from a site. It works fine on my local drive but when uploaded to a server (and I've tried both Linux & Windows) doesn't work. It loads in setting & the mp3 file names from an XML file. I was able to verify that the XML data is in fact loading. The hitch seems to come when trying to create and load the XML data into an XML object.I added text field & changed the value of the text property at different points of the script to narrow down where the script gets stuck. The exact line of code that doesn't run from the server is:

It even says 0 after the images has finished loading. what i'm doing is basically: createEmptyMovieClip() , i then use a movieClipLoader to load jpeg into that empty movieclip. the movieClipLoader has a listener attached and with the listener i use the function onLoadProgress() to display bytesLoaded and bytesTotal all of these things occur within one function.. bytesLoaded works fine both on local machine and from the server

I have a webcamera test .swf, html file plus .swfobject file. When I run it on my computer, the webcamera works correctly (i.e. I see my image flipped) however, when I upload it along with the .html and .swfobject file, I see my flash file (with graphics) but my webcamera video isn't showing up? I also am not seeing the "adobe flash player settings" prompt to enable my webcamera (I always see this prompt when testing it on my computer, however it's not showing up now that I uploaded the file) I can tell my camera is on because the light on my iSight is showing up, what gives?
