I am trying to write a flash app that will allow a user to select various regions of an image, similar to that of the selection tool in photoshop where a square region can be stretched and selected.
Would anyone have any ideas or tips for me that could get me going in the right direction? I have been researching for tools to help me write this but haven't been able to find anything useful..
After browsing for the images, and selecting them. How can I display a preview of the image in the datagrid? I am able to display the file name, file size, but was unable to display the image. Below are the codes I have written, it is not a complete code but just enough to make it understandable.
// variables used var list:Array = new Array(); var listDP:Array = new Array();
I have a .png image of all 44 US presidents, I'm trying to figure out how I could break it apart so that each president can be clicked on. I'm a fairly experienced actionscript programmer, have done some game development work in the developer role but never in the design/UI role, thus I'm not great (or even good!) at some of the beginner stuff regarding UI. I was thinking I could use the lasso tool to select an area, then somehow make that selection into a grapic or movie clip symbol, but I can't seem to get that to work and I'm wasting a lot of time experimenting!
I've been putting data into an array via XML, and then selecting at random an image string to load in a pic at random. But whilst doing this, I wanted to remove the String from the Array that I have just used, so I don't get repetition of the same image in the output. I initially thought that pop would remove the string I had just used - But of course it Removes the last value in the Array instead, which doesn't really help.
Ok - so how about randomizing the data once inside the Array, after it has been pulled in from XML!? That way I can load in the 'last' image, and then pop it out! Keeping a randomized selection of images each time 'it' is loaded
I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.
Using Flash CS3 If I draw two overlapping rectangles with two different fill colors, I get the expected results.If I draw two overlapping rectangles with the same fill color, the overlapping region appears white, almost as if there were an exclusion blend applied.
when we are running movieclips in flash for a few minutes, white regions or white artefacts will start to appear on the screen, and it will slowly grow in size.we have cleared the objects from memory, but these white regions are still coming.
I have a project where i'm drawing to a stageSized bitmap by using BitmapData.drawusing the 'show update regions' feature of the debug player, i can see that the player always updates the whole stage although i changed only a small part of the bitmapdata.Can I somehow make the player only update that part of the screen where there were changes made to the bitmap data?
I have a fla wherein when I Roll Over on the respective regions some text and images are displayed in the respective position ( text loaded in a dynamic text field). Now all these info are from XML file. I want to format it but have no idea how to do this one. I like to make it underline, want to make some paragraph , like to make some text bold and so on ...........
I have a Sprite covering the entire screen.Other than a certain rectangle of this sprite.I want the rest of the sprite to have alpha = 0.5. And for that particular rectangle, I want alpha = 0.
I've got a small action-script chart, that's meant to be live updating, and also be able to support more than 10000 points of data. The way it's currently set up it doesn't need to redraw the whole chart if the new line we wish to add doesn't extend that chart's boundaries. Yet it does, the redraw regions show the whole chart as being redrawn as opposed to the single line i need to add. When the chart gets a new piece of data from the javascript it does the following.(some stuff has been stripped for clarity.[code] Is there any better way to do that, that won't redraw the whole screen? Is my coding pattern wrong for this type of update?
I just wanted to know about a website's logo application. The website is www(dot)Logomaker(dot)com and I have question about how can the images be selected at various regions and their color can be changed ? What format are the images in the flash?
I've been making a flash animation for a client - the dimensions of the stage are 2,000px wide, 800px tall. They want a graphic in the background and a snow effect in the foreground.
The code I have written uses TweenMax to move a snowflake that has been dynamically loaded from the library on to the stage using attachMovie. When the clip leaves the stage, it is deleted and a new clip is created at the top of the stage.
I expect flash to redraw the background that the flakes pass over, but flash seems to also be redrawing space between the flakes - as if they were one movieclip - even though they are separate instances.
When you add a new layer to flash it shows you that little black ball on the first frame.now when I add a new layer into flash it only shows an empty ball in the first frame, it's not filled with black. how do i fix this?
I want to develop an app, which will have a GUI, and will do real time processing of user input. App should work in most common web browsers, and processing will be client side. Also, the app must only work if user is online and logged in to my website. Something like a "license". People should not be able to hack/reverse engineer the code etc. Is it possible to do what I want using Java Applet or a Flash application? Any other technology?
I've just got back to webbydesign and Flash after a long break! I'm bit concerned about the fact that many public computers do not have updated Flash player in their browsers and therefore can't show content designed with CS4 correctly, or at all!
I can't check this myself right now, but if I select ie. Flash version 8 in publish settings using Flash CS4, will this disable all version 10 functionality while designing my site? As far as i know, v10 supports 3D and whatnot fancies, that I don't need atleast for now.
Is there a way in flex (Flash Builder 4) to make regions like in c#, to group a part of the code allowing us to collapse it and see through our project more easily?
When I use TLF text in CS5 flash seems to use to capacity / I cannot do any clicks for around 10 secs when selecting/deselecting textfield. What could be the reason for flash slowing down so extremely?
Im using WinXP, SP3 System: HP xw6600 Workstation @ 2.50GHz, 3,25 GB GB of RAM,
I have a client for whom I just created an entire Flash MX website. Now, they want to create and identical HTML site for the users that have dial up or do not want to install Flashplayer. They have a lot of very wealthy clients (individuals and companies) and you would think that would mean most would have high speed access. I am quickly learning that this is an incorrect assumption.
My suggestion to them was to create a simple HTML splash page which would allow the user to select either the Flash or HTML site. This was shot down and what they are looking for is the ability for the website to detect the Flashplayer (and possibly the access speed, yeah right) and send the user to the appropriate version of the site. Does this sound doable?
What i'm trying to do is creating an array of objects, little squares that are positioned in a grid with coordinates and when i click on the coordinates i need to select only the elements which fit with the value. So, what i'm trying to do now is to pass a value to each element of the array but it doesn't work:
This is the first time i am working in action script. I have seen a flash programmer working with it. since i know javascript i was able to work in action script. I am creating a file upload component for my php projects. Until now i have advanced to show the file dialog box using the FileReference api. The select event is not firing for me. and i did not get any error.
I've used this site as a resource leading up to this, not particularly sure if I worded this correctly I have a class "Block" which is just a square (will be something else later on in the process) I want each block to have controls to add an additional block in either direction so I have another class BlockButtons which has my buttons for each direction.
And another class GlobalVar where I keep all my variables for funsies
am creating a little game... It is about selecting some items...If 2 right items are selected on frame 1, the "next" button will appear for the user to click on it to go to frame 2.
I have a tower defence that i am making, and what i am trying to accomplish is to upgrade the tower selected, but it is only upgrading the last tower built. Here is my upgrading code:
ActionScript Code: function everything() { for (l=0; l<dtn; l++) { dartSelected = dartTowerForReal[l];
Code: import gs.TweenLite; import gs.easing.*; //Roll over and out button actions var buttonArray:Array =
[code]....
1. Rather than using removeChildAt(5) how can I change this so I don't have to hard code in a number? As when I use this in my main project I get an out of bounds error.
2. How do I get my store text to match the pin that has been rolled over, so if pin 1 has been rolled over I get store one etc. At the moment I only know how to say storesArray[0]; which obviously isn't working for me.
I'm using a combobox component that I'm populating with a five-element array, as follows:
0 All 1 Bakery 2 Diary 3 Deli 4 Drink
And because I don't want "All" displaying in the text box, I've added the line
dropDown.text = "Select here..."
once the combobox is populated. Unfortunately, when I test the combobox and open the list, "All" is at the top of the list but already selected, so that when I click it, nothing happens. The rest of the items work fine.
Could someone tell me how to disable the first item, so that it's not automatically selected when the list opens and therefore can be clicked?
I'm trying to create an gallery application that reads the pics from the server per category (= directory). I do this using a PHP that creates the XML file:
Now I can get to the categories(= directories) using this code: ActionScript 3 Code: var categoryAttributes:XMLList = galleryInput.category.attributes(); for each (var categoryNAME:XML in categoryAttributes){ trace("categoryNAME:" + categoryNAME); }
This works, I get the directory names and create labels on stage and hang eventlisteners on them to handle user input. The next step is to select the corresponding pictures (that are in the "current" directory) and I just can't get it to work. My best effort so far is the following, but this code gives me ALL pictures, not a selection....
ActionScript 3 Code: var categoryAttributes:XMLList = galleryInput.category.attributes(); for each (var categoryNAME:XML in categoryAttributes) { trace("Hier komt de categoryNAME:" + categoryNAME); // Get the right pictures [Code] .....
And if I use galleryInput.category.image.name AS3 states that there are more than one value (of course). Now I have 2 questions: How do I limit the selection to just the images belonging to the "current" category? Is this the right approach? Or should I design it all different?
