Flash :: Stop SWF File From Repeating?

I have converted a short clip to an .swf file, i want to implement it on my website:

When i play it it autoplays (that's fine) but it also keeps repeating over and over, i'd like it to stop at the end and just display the end frame (as mentioned i converted a movie so i cant do it with actionscript in the .fla file).

I have a .fla that plays music until a certain text object (start_course_txt_mc) is visible. Then I want the music to stop and the narration to begin. I can get all that to happen. The problem is that the narration keeps playing over and over, but it is only playing about 3-4 seconds of an audio file that is about 30 seconds long.

how do i stop an animation from repeating once it has finished executed.
What i had wanted to do: was to play an animation once when the player has been hitted by a rock and increased an animation counter. So after say, the counter has reach 2, the animation will stop. But when i tested it out, the counter only execute once yet the animation just keeps on playing.

I'm developing a game for my final year project at university that has a character who can move up and down on screen. The upper half of the screen is reflected in the lower half so that there are actually two characters on screen at once, each reacting exactly the same way to keyboard input.One of the mechanics involves the two avatars changing positions relative to their halves of the screen which requires a spacebar press to execute. The problem I'm having is that I don't want the characters to change positions once every frame if the spacebar is held down. I need to implement some sort of delay once the spacebar is pressed so that the characters won't swap positions for another second or so.

I have added two consecutive streaming audio tracks (mp3) to the timeline of a child SWF. The child SWF loads onto a parent SWF using a loader. After loading the child SWF the movieclip and audio plays without a problem. I have a problem with stopping the audio. After the child is unloaded and the playhead reset in the parent SWF the first audio track from the child SWF begins to play again (but not the one right after it). I have been trying to use the SoundMixer.stopAll(); command to stop the audio. I have not been successful in preventing the audio from playing. I now see that the command only works after the audio begins playing. Is there a better way to control streaming audio embedded in the timeline? I need to prevent it from playing again.

I'm making a website at the moment which will all be done in flash (currently 1000px wide x 450px height) - what i want is a background which is consume the entire width of the page regardless of what the users screen resolution is, im not sure if this is a html/css thing or a flash thing.

I am importing several external files using the Loader-class, and one of them is an swf-file. When doing so (I had done it successfully before, so did not expect any issues), I ran into all sorts of errors, and finally Flash crashed.
I put down a trace in the constructor function, and it didn't trace just once, but kept on tracing, suggesting that the constructor was stuck on loop. I guess the loading of too many of the same swf is what causes flash to eventually crash.
Here is my code (the swf im loading is now a simple test-file which contains an image and no code):

i want the .SWF file to be opened but not donwloaded until a button is pressed but don't know ho to do that..on frame 1 i have an object (movieclip) that consists of a logo with a blur effect.. after 1-2 seconds the blur effect goes away and you can see the logo. the logo itself is a button that send's the user to the next frame in the main scene.on frame 2 of the main scene i have a preloader that shows the percentage of the loaded page and a progress bar .. everything works great
the problem is that when you open the swf it starts downloading the hole flash site and when you press enter the site is already loaded and you can't see the progress bar of the preloader..i want only the 1 frame of the main scene to be loded, then i want i to stop loading (downloading) the SWF file until enter is pressed.when enter is pressed i want the flash site to be loaded and so you can see the preloader in action..can i put some code on the action layer on the 1 frame that stops loading the movie (the first frame is loaded and the blur effect of the logo plays).and another code on the second frame (where the preloader is visible) that starts the donwloading again?

I have this homepage,[URL] and two separate .swf files. I want the top .swf, the skip bar, to stop the bottom video. Is there anyway to do this? Note I have no way to edit the original video. I wouldn't mind using a javascript solution but would rather target it with AS3 if possible.

if i have numbers of frames 31,64,97,134,175...(between each of that frames i have motion tween, so it isnt 1,2,3,4...).i want that it goes random in the array of numbers but with no repeating (if i passed 64,175,134 i shure dont want to go on 175 again or something similar), and when that array is finished(all the frames are passed) i want from flash to go on exc. frame 205.

I have a movieclip with multiple movieclips inside of it, and these movieclips' alpha changes over time(basically its a map with graphics nested within that light up certain areas of the map). By change I mean they "flash" ond and off once. I have each of these counties in an array and I have a timer and for loop firing on each of these mcs and I push them into the array. Problem is I keep getting an error (1009) after it runs through one cycle.... I of course need it to loop.

how to put mp3 which is just speaches done, be put alone in a flash file. Do i have to import sound? I wanted to be able to put 3 different mp3 files in flash and have people able to click on any sound and hear it. Be able to play and start and pause a sound. Is it possible are should I use something other than flash. Are should I convert to mp3 into another format and put in flash.

I use the "flashembed" feature of the jQuery tools within a site that is using scrollTo as well. The embeded swf file is my banner and right now it is running continiously. When I scroll to another hash it keeps running in the back and makes the scrolling a little bumby.

I am sending out a standalone player that uses an xml driven image gallery. I need to prevent changes to the xml file to stop images being added to the gallery. I can can password protect the xml file to prevent changes, but I also wondered if there was a way to validate the authenticity of the xml file from within Flash to prevent the entire file being replaced?

I am having an issue where if I import a graphic to the library or directly to the stage, it causes my movie to stop on frame #1, even though the graphic is on frame #40. I have tried a .png, .jpg, and .psd and they all cause this behavior. I have put other graphics in and never had this issue.
