ActionScript 2.0 :: Stop Carousel From Playing Through Whole Flash File

Iv inserted actionscript in flash to create a 3D Carousel. I have included buttons and frame labels which allows me to create other pages.How do I stop my carousel from playing though my whole flash file as I only want it to play up to frame 20 as beyond this I have my second page.I am using Flash CS5.
Basically I've included actionscript which produces a 3d carousel through an xml file. everything has worked out well except I dont know how to stop the carousel from playing throughout my flash document. I have included button and frame labels which allow you to go to different pages, but on every page the carousel is playing throughout. I've tried the stop();. What I would like is for the actionscript to disappear after frame 19 and beyond. Is there anyway I could do that through actionscript maybe? I am using Flash CS5 and Actionscript 2.0.
change so that it is does not rotate but it only rotates when you click on individual image, it then stays on that image until you click another image.file is also attached:

[code]That is the code used to solve the cache problems, but i dont' really get the second line. How does changing the level or target of the new movie stop the old file from playing?!i also searched what "?" does in flash, but i couldn't seem to find it.
I found this free 3D Carousel flash file on the this website but I couldn't add a different icons into the Carousel! can someone help me with that please? what I need is just to put a different icons in the Carousel but the icons should be inside the flash file library not out.
I am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.
I've had a challenge that I cannot seem to figure out for the life of me right now. I have set up a mockup spinning carousel on this page here using Actionscript 2: [URL] What I would like however, is for the annimation to only be available when moused over on the .swf. When the mouse is not placed inside the flash file, the animation would then stop. Is this possible?
I was wondering if it's possible to include an swf within a javascript carousel that currently just contains stagic images. What I'm looking to do is include a flash animation within the carousel. I guess I've got two main questions: Is it possible to cycle through flash files in the same way as an image? How would I get the javascript and flash to interact so the flash file would know when it had been selected?
I am not new to html or flash but, some what new to XML. I created a carousel based off the tutorials and it works great on my computer but, when I create an html file and attach the .swf file the flash file loads but, the icon images or anything from the .xml file doesn't appear.This is what I use to load my .swf file :
I am creating a game that has 6 movieclips all on the main time line of the game. Each movie clip has three buttons that when clicked plays, pauses or stops a sound clip.When I press any of the sound clip play buttons that sound starts playing, the problem is when I click any of the other sound clip play buttons those sounds also start to play. Is there a way I can disable the other sound clip buttons while the current sound is playing then enable all of the buttons when the current sound has stopped.

So I made a few buttons with sounds within them and when I publish it they work just fine. But what I want them to do is;
Say I click a Button.The sound starts playing.Then I click it again, before the sounds done playing.I want it to stop the playing sound and start playing the button I just clicked on, whether it be the same button, or a different one.Right now it just ends up sounds like an echo because it'll play it as many times as you click it.
The problem I have is I click the play button and start playing. Then I click next and when I click play for another song the songs overlap. How can I stop whatever song is playing and start playing the new one? Has to stop the prev song when I click play_brn.
I have a flash web banner that I need to embed in some pages. The banner is a small movie. I don't want it to play on some pages as it can get annoying. I tried setting the following but it didnt do anthing:

ok so i have a button that plays an animation for fire when held down. and when realsed goes to and stops and frame one. when it reaches the end of the time line it goes to and plays at frame 10 and goes back to the end of the timeline. I have a sound for the fire animation that plays for the effect. The problem is the sound keeps going untill its over even if the button isnt held down. and when the playhead reaches the end of the timeline it goes to and plays and frame 10 and it replays the sound. if i hold it down it will just keep playing the sound over and over from start to finish. what i want it to do it when i hold the button down i want it to play the sound and when released it stops the sound where ever it is at. I also dont the sound to play again if there is a sound already going to stop it from playing 20 sounds at one time it gets loud and you need asprin after about 5 seconds of that.
I need to put multiple mp3 players on my webpage so I downloaded the player at [URL]. I am using both the mini and the multi version...so when the mini starts playing, I want multi to shutup.
I thought the best way would be to modify the flash file to use localConnection and fire the stop function but I can't access the stop function at all...my code is like this

For a class project I have to make kinetic typography and so I need text to go along with some audio from a movie (in Flash). Every time I press enter to preview what I've done and what I have to do next, the audio starts and doesn't stop till it's done and this is a little over a minute long, and it's really annoying. If I don't start from the first keyframe, I can't even hear the audio, it doesn't play if I play from the middle. How do I press enter to play and have it stop when I press enter again? I can load the swf by CTRL+ENTER but then I can't see what frame I'm on and what frame I want. :|
I am playing youtube videos with the TShockwaveFlash component in Delphi 2007.The component has many options such as play, stop, rewind, gotoFrame, etc and they work on a normal flash file.However if I try to use them on a youtube video it doesn't work.
I have an instance of an flvplayback component on a frame (not the first frame) on a timeline in a flash AS3 flash app file. I would like to stop the movie when i exit that frame, either via gotoAndStop() or whatever else.s there a listener for this? Or any solution that people know of?
I am having a problem with the video on my website. I put a couple of videos on there and I have them working. But if I click on another page, the sound is still playing on the video until it is over. I found a temporary solution by putting in the code to STOP ALL. This make it work how it should. But the thing is I want background music, and with the code I have know the music would shut off every time I go to another page. Is there any code where I could just shut the sound off for that video when I click on something else and not ALL sound?
I have some animation (programmatic, I'm NOT using keyframed animation in timeline), and some music I want to play in the background. Once the music file reaches the end (about 30 seconds long), I want to trigger the end of the animation functions.I figure I could either use an actionscript timer to trigger the end of the animation or a keyframe with actionscript that is placed on the timeline near the end of the song but these methods assume knowledge about the duration of the wave file. If I changed the framerate or updated the external wave file, these triggers would possibly no longer sync upIs there some sort of event listener or other detection method for an audio file to signal it has finished playing? Or maybe there is a way to get the duration of the audio file to use in the timer
I'm using Flash CS4,i'm having problems creating a xml file to work with the action script for a 3D carousel. I've created folder for image png file and icons xml using a normal notepad in windows for file to work with the flash action script 2.0, but in output menu the msg says Error opening URL 'file:///C|/Users/User/Documents/caroselFile/icons.xml'.They're no compiler errors. Should the notepad be xml editor? I have been told i can use a normal notepad.Maybe i should of saved it in the fla directry but don't know where it is.
I am using the Carousel application as designed in the 3 part tutorial. My question that i can't find an answer to online is how to add a URL link in the description text that shows when an icon is clicked.
I want to add an HTML link inside the "theText" through the xml file, maybe some bold font here and there too. I'm not a pro with XML, so all the CDATA talk confuses me.

How adobe plays the AS2 SWF file so beautifully, including being able to go to next frame or prev frame or zoom functions? I have tried many different ways to play an AS2 SWF in my flex (AS3) SWF loader and it is a very difficult problem. I use a AS2 Shell as a proxy and I use local connection to communicate between the two AVMs. The result is quite a horrible one because, I am not able to scale the swf very well and also have a torrid time with the debugger. Any special methods used by Adobe to achieve that in CS4 Flash or do they also use LocalConnection to play the AS2?
I'm trying to set up a .flv file that will have buttons for two different pieces of sound.I've been able to get the first piece to load and to play and stop, but when I try to load the second piece, I trip up.I'm still a novice, but do think I understand the basic problem -- Actionscript can't distinguish between one sound request and another. The question is, how to fix this and get actionscript to understand that I'm trying to load and play two different sounds associated with two different buttons?I get error codes such as "1151: A conflict exists with definition s in namespace internal." , "duplicate function" problems and "duplicate variable" warnings. I've seen some discussion on this site of a recyclable sound object. I think I'm asking a similar question, but although the person who posed that question also posted a solution, I haven't been able to make it work.Here's the code:

I want to play a external SWF file (which is in server) in client side. It is working when I run through flash, but when double click on .swf it shows a dialog box:
Adobe Flash Player Security To let this application communicate with the internet click Settings.
So what settings do we need to change to play the swf file?
