After updating to the latest version of Flash (10.2.152.26), our web application began crashing. The application is written using Flex.I'm using Windows 7 (32-bit), but it has crashed on Windows Vista (32-bit) as well. It crashes on IE8, Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 9.However, it does not crash when using the debug version of the Flash Player.I've tried enabling and disabling the hardware acceleration. I've also updated my video drivers to the latest version.The Event Viewer shows the following when IE crashes:

I don't work much with input variables (my focus is more in animation/design than forms and scripting) in my flash movies and i've been scratching my head for days now.
I am trying to get my flash buttons working. When I click on them they open a new window and none of the graphics show up. I need it to open in the same window and I have no idea why the graphics aren't linking. They are on my computer not on a server. In addition I need to add multiple buttons to the action script without messing up the entire movie. It seems when I try and add event listeners for the other buttons it won't play at all.want it to go to a page outside of the flash movie. This is a swf placed in Dreamweaver the buttons need to go to other site pages.

This is a flash calendar i found on the web, only thing I changed was added the ability to change the header color, days name color, etc. Works fine when check in flash itself (Adobe Flash Pro CS5), but when preview in html browser it doesnt work right. Shows undefined everywhere but when you click the arrow to go to next month everything is correct, header color, month name etc.

I have 2 java classes that are the same (imagine the getters and setters):

Now there is a reason why there are two classes that are the same.When something is "scheduled", I should get the ScheduleEvent object and when an event is started, I should get the StartEvent object.And depending on the object I get back, I do different things.My problem is that, on the backend, it will send me the ScheduleEvent object, but once it got to the flex side (via BlazeDS), it becomes a StartEvent....
At first, I thought it's because these two events have exactly the same variables, so I tried changing ScheduledEvent by adding a dummy variable (String foobar) but that didn't seem to make a difference.
EDIT: I'm using BlazeDS messaging system.That's why I am not using "one java method call to one responder" approach. So, in the message.body, I should be getting ScheduledEvent but I keep receiving StartEvent. I'm wondering if it's because the two objects have the same property and BlazeDS doesn't know how to map them correctly... I even put a break point in the java service layer, to make sure that the appropriate object is being sent back and it is... But by the time BlazeDS serializes and deserializes it to the flex side, it is now a StartEvent.

I'm trying to get data from a website, but first I need to log in to the site using java. The script worked until now, but now the site installed an anti bot system. Until now the procedure was simple, I've created a HttpStreamWriter and submitted my details to the login.php page, then get the cookies and later, when I want to get data from the site, I resubmit the cookie from the login.php page, but now there is a problem: an anti bot system: I'm not sure, but I think this is the system: [URL] The anti bot system creates a cookie, called anti-bot and I can't access the page without that cookie, the problem is that the cookie is generated by a flash application only after the page loads so I can't get the cookie from the page?
View 1 RepliesBy default I had 2 movieclips on first frame on the main timeline. And an actionscript code for first two movieclips.They are kept on each individual layer. They were working just fine but when I shifted all three keyframes from first to second frame on the maintime line. It doesn't works properly. The reason why I'm shifting them to next keyframe is because I wan't to insert a pre-loader on first frame. Here's the output message I'm getting:

I'm trying to create a simple Flash chat application for educational purposes, but I'm stuck trying to send a policy file from my Java server to the Flash app (after several hours of googling with little luck). The policy file request reaches the server that sends a harcoded policy xml back to the app, but the Flash app doesn't seem to react to it at all until it gives me a security sandbox error.

Despite my luddite tendencies, I now have a phone with Java support - but no Flash support. I also have a copy of Macromedia Flash MX2004, though I'm unlikely to upgrade any time soon. What I'd like to be able to do is develop some content (including vector animations) in Flash, then use those resources in a Java Micro Edition application. I don't need all features of Flash - in particular, I don't care about ActionScript support. But I do want to be able to load a SWF file (or, perhaps better, an alternative file format that can be generated using a converter tool), and to be able to display animations and use other resources (particularly play sounds) from in that file.
Is there a good library and toolkit to support this kind of thing? Obviously (from the MX2004) it doesn't need to be completely up to date. On knowledge level - I've been a programmer for decades, and my everyday language these days is C++. However, I have a very limited knowledge of Java, and virtually no knowledge (yet) of Micro Edition and its libraries. I've already heard of Flash to J2ME converters, but so far as I can see they generate complete applications in one step, rather than treating the SWF file as a source of resources to be controlled from separately written Java code.
EDIT I get the feeling that this is (with slight modifications) probably quite easy. Java Mobile Edition supports SVG vector graphics. SVG supports animations. There are (I'm pretty certain) ways to convert flash animations to SVG - probably a simple export-to-SVG in the application, though I've not checked. This in itself doesn't give me a convenient bundle-of-media resources file format, but that's a relatively simple problem to solve, so long as there's a way to "load" SVG and other media files from some kind of non-file stream class that gets its data in turn from the bundle-of-media file.

View 2 RepliesI'm testing a full-screen Flash application. My preference is to drive the process with Java and I've had a lot of luck with the java.awt.Robot class. I'm looking for ways of modifying the test's behavior while the app still occupies the full screen. So far, I've found one "outside control", the caps lock key. If I see the process go horribly wrong, I turn on caps lock. Toolkit.getLockingKeyState notices that caps lock is on, and the test is terminated.
I need additional ways to change test operation, like "pause test" and "next test case." It looks like I could use num lock and scroll lock, but my tests need to run on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux, so I can't count on having those keys. This is a small operation, so it's ok if the method isn't refined. But not as kludgy as overloading the caps lock key with 5 different operations. I have no internal control of the application; I'm supposed to "test" just like a user.

Apparently, if I trace out Updater.isSupported, it gives back false. From the Adobe documentation: The AIR update framework is only supported in the desktop profile. It is not supported for extended desktop applications (applications installed with a native installer), and it is not supported on the mobile profile (iPhone applications written with ActionScript 3.0). Check the Updater.isSupported property at runtime to see if the update framework is supported. So how do you implement updates for Mobile Apps created with Flex (Android + iOs)?

In my flash game the font i choose looks perfectly fine on my computer (being played from a website) but when i use a computer at school or my friends computer, all the font is ALWAYS times new roman.. this happens with every game i make..
I tried switching from tlf text to classic text.... but it didn't change at all.. can someone help please? I have been facing this problem for months now.
i have a MC, which i want to float up and down fluently, so I gave it this script:

Strangely, the object flies up after a short while, meaning it floats up and down, but more up than down, even if the script itself is pretty straightforward.
