I would like to be able to operate a scanner from my AIR application. Since there's no support for this natively, I'm trying to use the NativeProcess class to start a jar file that can run the scanner. The Java code is using the JTwain library to operate the scanner. The Java application runs fine by itself, and the AIR application can start and communicate with the Java application. The problem seems to be that any time I attempt to use a function from JTwain (which relies on the JTwain.dll), the application dies IF AIR STARTED IT.[code]
View 2 RepliesI need to be able to tell when the os has came back from sleep/hibernate/standby.Problem I'm having is that I have a timer that needs to fire at certain time. The delay is calculated so that it will fire on certain hour:min:sec. Problem is when the os goes to sleep, the timer is "paused," which caused the timer to fire on wrong time. I would like to be able to update the timer delay when the os comes back from sleep but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this...

I'm writing a card game in ActionScript 3. Each card is represented by an instance of a class extending movieclip exported from Flash CS4 that contains the card graphics and a flip animation. When I want to flip a card I call gotoAndPlay on this movieclip.When the frame rate slows down all animations take longer to finish. It seems Flash will by default animate movieclips in a way that makes sure all frames in the clip will be drawn. Therefor, when the program frame rate goes below the frame rate of the clip, the animation will be played at a slower pace.I would like to have an animation always play at the same speed and as a consequence always be shown on the screen for the same amount of time. If the frame rate is too slow to show all frames, frames are dropped. Is is possible to tell Flash to animate in this way?

That I do not really remember or look for a solution, so I tell myself that it is perhaps a forum that I did find .. I work on a project with Adobe Flash CS4, consist of several sequences with animation, script, sound ect. Yesterday I try to Launch the movie and I got around to indicate a message saying: That I was unable to load all the sequences,'' then'' that my file had been damaged'' Following this I was worried and I was getting a check in my paper to see if my file was still there, and although it's not as if he estab delete it, it does not appear anywhere in my pc, put in my flash off is to remain open and on which I can still modify items so that is not blocked. Now he tells me to reinstall Flash

I stayed up all night building an application on cs5.5 that needs to keep running for up to an hour without the screeen dimming or the device going to sleep. After a lot of googling I could not find anything. Is there a way to emulate or trick the system and make it think that there is user interation ? Or is there an option I can change to make this work? I am testing on an ipod touch 4g

Would it be possible to have a keylistener accomplish the following pseudo code:

How this relates: I have multiple frames on my page, one which contains the flash chatroom. It has a keylistener set up for the various direction keys, and after an arrow is pushed I need it to doSomething, sleep for 1 second while doSomething runs, then reload an iFrame on the page containing php code that queries the changes doSomething performed.
I am just learing ActionScript. I have following code. when I click play button, I want to completeHandler function to wait 5 seconds before executing. Another word, I want movie clip (playstop_mc) to play first. Once it is done playing the movie then I want completeHandler function to run once. How do I do this? or point me to the right direction

View 1 RepliesI have a hidden swf which needs to run in full framerate. Although it is documented that the "sleep mode" due to which flash player goes into 4fps is only for mobile devices. I see that when my swf is not displayed (hidden or in a different tab", I can only get events in multiples of 250ms. Is there a way I can disable this feature for my swf? I can see that this is a great feature, but I just need to disable this for my app.
View 6 RepliesI have a loop and in it i am attaching a movie clip (basiccly its just a row with data). The movieclip has a alpha fade in it. Now I want to delay each attachmovie function so that the movies are attached one by one rather then trow them all on the screen at once. (plus it looks better with the alpha fade).
I tried the setInterval but it wont work (ex.:Interval is 1 sec, and if im going to attach 6 MC, flash wait 6 * 1 sec, then show them all)
And is it possible to attach a movieclip inside a othermovieclip thats not on the same frame (the other MC is on frame 10)?
I'm trying to create something that you could use in a game that shows you the points adding to your total score little by little (instead of it adding it all at once). I've managed to make a timer delay, but it will still only update once and I don't know what to do.

Hello I am wondering if any of you know of a way to turn the throttle down (sleep) mechanism off when a C++ app is hosting the flash activeX control. The flash control is invisible in this case and so the flash app will throttle down. Tinic Uro does not seem to be answering questions related to work arounds for apps that might not want flash to throttle down.
This is especially annoying when you are hosting the flash control in your own application.
My fla-file (27mB) is graphic resources to a project, split into pieces is very problematic.Publication time on my computer is 4 minutes. I tried setting "preferance / publish cache" - not result.
