I have developed a flex project
It brings out the result from an xml file through an url.
It works when i run from flex builder..
I had made a copy of swf file of that mxml file and run seperately by keeping in my desktop.. No values are fetched from the url... What is the solution for this...
I have an air application that loads a swf ( built in flex ) , this swf loads moduls and basicaly my air application is a testing environment for this swf .
when i run it in flex environment ( eclipse ) it runs fine , when i run it from my programs ( as an air program ) it gets stuck , what i was thinking is that it has to do with security issues because it gets stuck when my main swf try to loads the moduls .
This is driving me crazy. When building a project, I get the following error

I just updated my AIR runtime to 3.0 and noticed that my AIR application doesn't work anymore. So I tried to debug it it with Flash Builder, but when I run it there, everything works just fine. So I uninstalled the AIR runtime completely but noticed that I can execute my AIR app within Flash Builder still just fine. So the AIR runtime used within Flash Builder seems to be a different one than the systemwide installed AIR runtime. How Do I chose within Flash Builder which runtime to use and how do I update this runtime?

I just upgraded to Flash Builder 4 (beta 2) from Flex Builder 3 which I have been using since it came out. Problem: All the projects that were in my workspace from Flex Builder 3 did not carry over into Flash Builder 4 (e.g. in the "Flex Navigator" view if FB3). Flash Builder 4 now uses the .FXP format to manage projects, but Flex Builder 3 did not. Is there an easy way to get all my projects back into Flash Builder 4?

Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.

When setting up a source control repository for a Flex Builder workspace, what do you consider to be worth checking in? Do you exclude the workspace .metadata folder but keep the .project and other project specific files? Keep both? Throw away both? Is there a guideline you use to decide which is worth holding onto or do you do it out of practical experience?

How can I make the TextInput with id of "x" come into focus if I have a..z id's, also for the scrollbar to scroll automatically to that child item? I can use x.setFocus(), but the scrollbar doesn't automatically scroll to that item? why?

I have an AIR project that I was working on Flash Builder 4.5 which now I'm trying to import to my updated Flash Builder 4.5.1 and it is prompting me to fix some paths before the import is completed. I'm kinda clueless what I should put in those fields.

The project access a web server to retrieve data using JSON.
Is it possible to run a Flex client in IntelliJ internally and have it talk to a separately deployed server instance? The server's a java webapp. This will make developing, especially debugging, much easier. What I'm trying to avoid is having to rebuild and redeploy the webapp to get the updated Flex code in it. I want to just build flex and run it against the server.
The flex client is embedded in an HTML page on the server, so in production the users access the client by going to a web page. We're using GraniteDS if that's important.

I'm managed to cobble something together, but it's ugly.I made a copy of our wrapper HTML page and fixed the links to refer to the SWF in target.I setup the IntelliJ run config to point to that HTML page.I set the 'Place SWF file in a local-trusted sandbox' to true
Hardcoded the {server.name}, {server.port}, and {context.root} values in the service-config.xml GraniteDS config file to localhost, etc.
I can mavenize #1, but #3's isn't really a permanent solution. That part is still a problem because I can't check this in.
For some reason I cannot catch the Ctrl + Z keyDown event in my Flex application when it runs in IE. It works fine in FF/Chrome/Safari.
I have a simple Group control where I listen for keyDown and try implement my own Undo logic. I need to catch Ctrl + Z because any other key combination would feel unnatural to most users.

When I run an exe projector that I exported from flash cs5.5, and on few of my client's computers it running very slow in full screen.When I running an swf file (not exe projector), also in full screen, it running well!I checked my clients computer hardware, and it match the system requirements of flash player.

View 1 RepliesI had purshased one licenses for each, flex builder 3 standard as well as flex builder professional. First, I installed flex builder 3 standard and entered the license key, it worked. As it was standard charting library has 'flex trial' water mark. Then I tried to uninstall flex builder 3 standard and install flex builder 3 professional again on 'same machine'. But here I faced the real problem, as soon as I run the exe, the license key automatically gets copied from windows registry file and it behaves as standard edition. Then I tried to use 'manage flex license' option and use 'upgrade to professional' option. Now as my key is for 'Flex 3 professional' and not 'upgrade to Flex 3 professional' it does not accept as valid key. I have few softwares which restrict me from reformatting my system

I can get the module loaded but I can not get the flash application to access any module functions. Here is how I load the module in Flash and the error I get. If I change the module to an application type swf then it loads and runs but now I have two applications on top of each other. I would like the loaded module swf to be able to have access the Flash stage object.

I have a quite different problem with resizing. I have a Flexbook component which uses the middle part of screen (center) with a html header menu and footer. The problem: The scaling works perfectly when we run in the local machine ( Flexbuilder). But when we deploy it to the server its like scaling never existed.. The requirement: when user maximizes the window or minimizes it, the Flexbook should be resized to fit the screen.

i have flashbuilder 4.5 installed.
how do i proceed?
the project consists of:
- main.mxml
- applicationContext.xml
- a build shell script
- a bunch of as source code folders
- a folder containing the assets
i do not know with which IDE the project was developed. the main interest would be to get it compiling inside flash builder
I need to detect if running in ADL or not, I can't seem to fine an answer that is guaranteed...I found a couple posts online that say "this might work..." Is there a reliable way to check?
