The problem is that the captions underneath the images are in a fixed width text box. They look fine underneath horizontal images, but I want to have the text shift in when a vertical image is loaded, and is narrower.

Aug 18, 2011This is more of a rant than a question; but I am curious to know if anyone has some insight for me. The application I am working on deals with a C# .NET backend; communication is achieved via a socket over which we push AMF objects. The AMF object class definitions are generated by the server side team and I just have to use registerClassAlias on the flash side to link them up - pretty standard; the only difference being that as they come from a C# background they prefer to use UpperCammelCasing instead of lowerCamelCasing for property names.
Today I got a bunch of updated AMF objects which I dropped into the project; but I noticed that after updating my project would no longer compile [code]...
Flex :: Image Scale Stopped Working After Deploy To Server?
Nov 18, 2009I have some code to scale an image's width according to its height after the image is being loaded. It works fine on my development PC if I point to the wrapper html using local file system path. However, after I deploy the web application to JBoss AS 5.1, it stopped working - it always sets the image width to 0, causing it to disappear.
Code for scale image side:

Jun 14, 2010There is an Image control that when I click on it I need to zoom in (using the center/transform point where the mouse is clicked). I have the zoom transition working great, but when I set transformX & tranformY (with autoCenterTransform false) it doesn't zoom into that point.

Actionscript :: Air/Flex 4 - Load Image From File, Scale Down, And Save As PNG?
Dec 27, 2010I wrote these functions which I use in conjunction to scale down some BitmapData and save it as a PNG. However, the scaledImage.draw(originalImage, scalingMatrix, null, null, null, true); line with smoothing set to true does not have the intended smoothing effect when I save the bitmap data as a PNG using the second function. The resulting image file is not antialiased at all. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?

Nov 16, 2009In my Flex application, I've got a component that extends UIComponent where I'm loading images at runtime and try to display them. I've tried lots of different approaches (using beginBitmapFill(), using different containers), but I can't get things to work as I want. The problem seems to be related to the width and height properties of the image, which aren't updated correctly.The idea is:

The image's width and height doesn't seem to be correct when it's loaded. I get width==0 (and nothing is displayed), but the property $width seems to be correct. How can I assure that width and height of the loaded image is updated?

It takes the 5 items in the menu and when they are individually moused-over, they simple move 10 points to the left, then when the mouse is off they move back to their original position.Now I want to change it so that they scale up a tiny bit in both width and height. I've been trying to do this for some time and I have no idea why this code does not work:

However, the result looks like the following:ScreenshotAs you can tell, it cuts off the first few characters in the text after the image tag (Lorem Ipsum is sim), but it is only because the image is full width. If I change the img tag to width="200", it shows the text floating to the right.However, as you can tell with a full width image (because the Text component's width is 339), it seems the text is still floating to the right, but it's hidden off to the right side of the image.

Jun 20, 2009My website is going to have a main wrapper that is set to a max-width property for compatible browsers. It will stretch to 940px across at max. When scaled down I would like the swf to scale proportionately with it. Like an image with width percent applied. The flash movie has the dimensions of 940 × 360 pixels.
I can't seem to figure out the correct attributes to add to the embed tag to get it to do this.I am currently using jquery flash embed, but am open to other options, though this is my ideal.In the example I have set the flash background to black.
When resize the browser window the flash movie doesn't scale proportionately to the div, only the photo does, leaving a blank canvas (black), while the div height stays the same. I can't add a height value in the CSS.How do I make this scale correctly? Adding a noscale param only crops the image. The swf's height doesn't scale also.

Jul 11, 2011Does anyone know how I can retrieve the "ORIGINAL" stage height and width that was set during compile of an Air/Flash ApplicationI have set the Application to compile to 1920x1080;I have stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL;and stage.nativeWindow.maximize();But when I trace stage.stageWidth I get 1280 which is the resolution of the screen.I was hoping to get the 1920.I cannot use stage.width or stage.getBounds(stage) because this returns 6000. Due to items being masked off screen.
With the stage.stageWidth being the screen resolution, I was hoping I could use that and mathematically work out the original using stage.scaleX. but even with SHOW_ALL scaling the entire application, stage.scaleX returns 1EDIT: I know what "Show all" does, you do not need to tell me about it.I also know what stage.width and stage.stageWidth do, but stage.stageWidth is returning what I believe is incorrect in this example and need an alternative.

Nov 8, 2009I have a Flash CS4 Professional version installed in my machine. Here is my problem.
1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?
