I wanna creating a flex application. In that application left, down and right side will be same all pages but on center screen will be changed in order to click event. Is that possible? When i click button on the center screen, center screen will show another MXML (call another MXML but left, right and down side will be same). How can i do that?
View 1 RepliesI placed my AMFPHP folder inside my htmltemplate project folder, but now everytime i build it wants to 'refresh' the folder which takes forever. Is there a way to set it so that folder does not refresh each time? I put the AMFPHP folder in there so I can have a unique copy for my debug builds and leave the production build one alone.

Whenever I try to reference the SWC, flash says it's "not a compile time constant" - can anyone help me with the process of building a SWC (mainly, naming it so that Flash Builder can reference it) - and then, in Flash Builder, creating that reference to the SWC?
View 4 RepliesIn TFS 2010 build, I have a new build and I want to call an ant script that builds Flash. How do I call the ant script? Also How can I compile the Flash directly? I've seen the Power Tools and this question but it doesn't help me as we don't have TFS 2008. I can't find any documentation on how to use the power tools except the 1 sentence on the bottom of download page saying to create your build the old way and import it (which isn't very helpful). I've installed the power tools on the agent computer but I don't see any new options in the Toolbox when I'm designing the build flow.
View 2 RepliesI just started working with ant a few days ago. Right now I have a general buildall.xml which should call each project's build.xml. Because some projects depend on each other, I need to rebuild some other projects which depend on it. This isn't a problem--I'm just setting the depends property of the target. However, ant is always building the dependencies, even when the files haven't changed.Let's say project1 has no dependencies; project2 depends on project1; project3 depends on project1, 2; project4 depends on project1, 2, and 3; and so on.I could hack a solution which looks at project K, and checks if project 1 .. project K have updated files using uptodate. If so, then run the target. This is messy and appears unnecessary.
What is the cleanest way to implement this?EDIT: So I decided to just hack in a bunch of targets, "check_projectK" where it does the uptodate checks on all of its source files, its build file, and the build files of the 1 .. K-1 projects. Due to dependencies, this is always handled correctly. However, this is still a large amount of copy and paste for a large workspace.

Go into project explorer and can't see much AS so how the hwll are they getting the images and text into the flash swf. By the html??? I don't think so.

View 1 RepliesI've set up an application to print the current state of the control I'm using (in this case an ArcGIS server map), but I'd like to set up a print function that uses it's own template to print rather than grabbing the state of the application.
I've attempted to do this by setting up a flex component that lays out the items I want to print and instantiating it when I call the FlexPrintJob. Unfortunately, simply instantiating it results in getting a blank green square.
There are two main questions about this that I'd like to put out there. First, what needs to be done to print a newly instantiated template rather than just grabbing already existing controls from the screen? Second, for more controls that need to load complicated data from multiple sources, like an ArcGIS map, is it possible to instantiate them in that kind of environment, or is there a way to take an image of the control in the application and print that?
Is it possible with ASDoc to include example MXML code in your comment?[code]

Flex Build Path: (Source Path) includes source folders from other areas, i.e common_components, which aren't projects on their own but just folders with various code I need to share. This works fine but I want to migrate to using ant. I have read in places on how to include libraries, via compiler.include-libraries, but as this isn't a library but rather just bunch of folders with .as and MXML files, how do I accomplish this?
I'm working on a general code library for ActionScript 3.0 called as3lib which includes several extensions to the core API and some useful functions. I've written several unit tests (using FlexUnit) to make sure everything is working correctly.
What is the best way to organize these tests in the library? Currently, I have all my code in src/ and my tests in test/ but I've set up a secondary Flex project to run the unit tests. I am also manually adding and removing the test files from the library when I want to run the tests.
Preferably one where the compiled library doesn't include the test files but I don't need two separate projects to test them.
In the simplest of Flex Projects, create an MXML Flex Module and then load it using the ModuleManager.Create an ActionScript class that extends Module and then configure your project to compile that into a Module.Load this new module instead. The project compiles, but crashes when running with the following error:"Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'containers' for locale 'en_US'."I believe the compiler is failing to compile the required class definitions into ActionScript only module, while it succeeds for the MXML module.I can see that my skeleton MXML module is slightly larger than my ActionScript module (66KB vs. 45KB).

When building a Flex library project in Flash Builder 4, setting the Include all Classes flag in the library properties tells the compiler to include all compiled classes into the resulting SWC file. Sometimes this flag gets reset or ignored. The .flexLibProperties file looks like this:

I want to restrict my NumericStepper so that you can't type invalid characters into it (like a comma). I'm trying this, and it works:

Except the negative sign can't be typed anymore, even though I specify it. If I do it directly on a TextInput, it works:

Why doesn't this work?
I meet a problem when migrate the application for flex 3.5 to flex 4.5. The char style cannot be apply correctly when set the style in application, it still use columnChart default style. But when I move the fx:Style declaration to ColumnchChartModule, the char style works. Could someone help me to explain why the style inheriting is broken? the button style seems working, when I define a button style in application.[code]

I know how to change the libs and src folders, but not html-template. Is it possible?
Gas3 is not able to find my custom template.
I replaced the default path:
class:org/granite/generator/template/remoteBase.gsp
With my file, like this:
class:myPackage/remoteBase.gsp
But every time Gas3 tries to create the .as of my classes I get a Resource not Found exception. I tried different paths but all gave me the same error.

Using FDT, when I have a debug configuration with several operations in the launcher chain and the final launcher opens in Flash Player, how can I retrieve the build output from the console once the build is complete and Flash player is running?
It seems that once Flash Player has started the console clears to make way for the application's trace output, but I need to be able to look back over the events and build times for each item in my launch chain while Flash Player is running. Is there a setting I can enable to either log my build output to a file or to preserve it in the console?
Edit: I know I can still read the info when building normally, this question is specifically for building with the debugger.
Inside a flex app, I have a user login. The login calls a ColdFusion function as a remote object which authenticates the user and, if applicable, returns their id and access level. This works fine, but now I'm at the point where I want to also create a cookie for another ColdFusion template (called from fileReference.upload()) to be able to access later. I have tried several different methods for creating the cookie -- cfcookie, creating a cookie with JavaScript inside the ColdFusion function, and creating the cookie with JavaScript with an external interface once the coldfusion function returns to the flex result handler. All of these have been tried with a plethora of options regarding expiration, path, and domain tags.

Suppose you have a view, which contains three control A, B and C. The control A and B are in a HGroup, which itself is inside a VGroup with C.
Based on user interaction, I'd like to re-arrange the controls to new layouts. For example all three inside a VGroup. Or for example a layout, which hides A and B and maximizes C in size.
While I could hand-write the code, I'd like to use something like a layout template. A template, which contains placeholders for A, B and C. Give the current view, I'd like to pass the new template and the view should rearrange.
