Flex :: Browser - Doesn't Include Changes On New Runs
Feb 6, 2011
I have a problem with flex. sometimes when I change my application and run it, my changes doesn't appear in the application, and I have to change my browser setting in flex to see changes on other browsers, and after doing it for a while and solving the problem permanently, other browsers will do the same and don't show my changes.
I have a simple slide show that just used timeline tweening(no actionscript) named slideShow.swf.I have another swf named loadSS.swf that I load slideShow.swf into this file has a preloader in it.I have a 3'rd swf named loadLoadSS.swf that simply loads loadSS.swf.The preloader in loadSS.swf works fine when I run it standalone. When I run loadLoadSS.swf the slideshow runs but the preloader doesn't.I don't want the preloader to run on the final destination because it's a website with a long timeline and many levels and the slideshow will be shown in many places and it just gets complicated. If the slideshow can just provide it's own preloader life will be much simpler.[code]
I have made a plattformgame in flash, and after I had published it I tested it (local) when it was embedded in a browser, and it hacks and laggs! But when I play it in the flash player it works just fine.
I removed all the heavy graphics, lowerd the fps to 30fps and removed all the code so now its just the bassis left (gravity, collision, key checking etc. and yes u should bounce on the walls giving a wall jump effect).[URL]

When I preview my SWF from within Flash or run the exported swf outside of Flash, it has suddenly become extremely slow, maybe 10 FPS or something. But then it runs smoothly if I
- run it in a browser embedded in a HTML page - run a preloader locally which simply loads the problematic SWF file; once the problematic SWF file shows up, it runs perfectly.
This doesn't make sense to me, and it's really annoying to be unable to just Shift+Enter to preview. Anyone tried anything like this before?
i have downloaded a flash component "Fade In Fade Out Slideshow".and included mu images in it.i don't know how to include it in drupalits index.html page is
I was in the middle of developing a Flex applcation, and then I recently switched from Windows XP to Mac. My app is noticeably less responsive on my Mac than on Windows, and today I proved it's not a hardware issue, because I ran the App on my Mac and a Window XP on Virtual Box side by side, and IS much more responsive on XP. Things like repainting in response to window resizing, selecting/unselecting list items, scrolling up and down(I do have complicated list-item-renderers). Has anyone seen this as well? Is flex/flash just not as well supported on Mac? Or are there tweaks I can do to improve performance on the Mac?
I have an existing AIR app whose main content is App.swf.I would like to have another AIR app that hosts and runs App.swf. When I say run it, I mean displays it's WindowedApplication. Here's the code for the 2 AIR projects (imports are omitted for brevity):
// App AIR Project -> App.mxml -> App.swf (it's just a window) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">[code]....
I get the following error while App.swf is being loaded:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.at mx.managers::SystemManager/initHandler()[C:autobuildgalagaframeworksprojectsframeworksrcmxmanagersSystemManager.as:3001]
I believe the issue has to do with AirAppHostApplication's SystemManager conflicting with App's SystemManager because they are both living in the same app domain. Can an AIR app be written where a WindowedApplication class isn't statically defined, but loaded at runtime by loading a swf and instantiating the WindowedApplication subclass that's contained in the swf.The reason I want to do this is for an automation scenario where I have to assume I don't have the source code for the app I'm automating, but I do have access to the names of the public classes and their public methods exposed for automation. I have complete control over the environment and don't have to deal with any constraints around that, so I can put 2 AIR apps in the same directory, etc.
I want the comboBox to be placed in one of the columns of the datagrid header. The datagrid should be filtered according to the value selected in the comboBox.e.
Can we develop flex mobile project that runs in both android and iphone. Also I want to know , can we use all the device capabilities of both android and iphone in same project
I'm having a problem with the flash publish method and swfaddres.I've included the javascript of the flash pubblication in a new javascript file with the swfaddress in the same page.If i use swfobject for including my flash file in the swf, swfaddress works ok...if i include the swf with the flash method swfaddress doesn't work. Here the link: http:[url]......
I wanna creating a flex application. In that application left, down and right side will be same all pages but on center screen will be changed in order to click event. Is that possible? When i click button on the center screen, center screen will show another MXML (call another MXML but left, right and down side will be same). How can i do that?
I currently have a Flex project that was done in Eclipse, using the following compiler settings: Flex Build Path: (Source Path) includes source folders from other areas, i.e common_components, which aren't projects on their own but just folders with various code I need to share. This works fine but I want to migrate to using ant. I have read in places on how to include libraries, via compiler.include-libraries, but as this isn't a library but rather just bunch of folders with .as and MXML files, how do I accomplish this?
I've been trying for hours to make sense of this problem. When I run my code through the Flash IDE, everthing is fine. However, when I run it through the command line compiler or Flex itself t doesn't work. This is after setting up all the required Flex bits to create a Flash stage and display content. it keeps giving me an "Access of undefined property" error though I've clearly defined those properties in question a line or two before.

What the heck is going on?? I'm stumped. Embed seems to work fine, but I'd prefer to change it this way. I think there's something about XML dynamism if you use embed instead.
I didn't want to use the code that creates the zooming and fading icons when you click on them since I needed the carousel to act as a menu for my portfolio on my new website. Therefore I wanted the viewers to be able to click on an icon and the browser directs them to a new page (in the same window) which would display that certain part of my portfolio.
Anyway I got it all working fine with a little animation that leads up to the end keyframe which holds the carousel actionscript. It works when I test it in Flash and it also works when I publish it. When I click on the published SWF. Yet when I insert the code that links to the .swf file and open the index.html file up to view it in both IE7 and Firefox the flash movie works with respect to the lead up animation but when it reaches the final keyframe all the other graphics are shown except the actual carousel.
I've tried publishing it with different settings such as the Flash with HTTPS which creates the AC_Runcontent.js file and linking to that file in the html but that still doesn't work.
HTML <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I too have wtched the 3D carousel tutorials 1,2 7 3 and created a carousel using my own graphics.

I really need to know why this is happening it's driving me insane, I've tried publishing it with different settings such as the Flash with HTTPS which creates the AC_Runcontent.js file and linking to that file in the html but that still doesn't work.
see the three sections of code below:
HTML
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
Ok so when I test the file in Flash it appears totally fine and works...as an swf on it's own, it also works just fine. (I have a text box, mask, scrollbar etc etc). Text is loaded externally and seems to be happy and error free...
When I test the swf on a html web page, i can see the scrollbar and arrows etc, but none of my text appears. I've tried embedding the font characters but that doesn't help either.
If I double click on the published SWF file (thus opening it with the FlashPlayer 10 executable), the video plays correctly. Nonetheless, if I double click on the published HTML file, there isn't any video played at all. This doesn't happen if I put the files on a webserver, the video plays correctly on the browser.I checked the "source" property of the component, which doesn't have any absolut path (the video file resides on the same folder as the FLA/SWF folder, so the "source" property only has the FLV filename).
I'm working on a general code library for ActionScript 3.0 called as3lib which includes several extensions to the core API and some useful functions. I've written several unit tests (using FlexUnit) to make sure everything is working correctly.
What is the best way to organize these tests in the library? Currently, I have all my code in src/ and my tests in test/ but I've set up a secondary Flex project to run the unit tests. I am also manually adding and removing the test files from the library when I want to run the tests.
Preferably one where the compiled library doesn't include the test files but I don't need two separate projects to test them.
In the simplest of Flex Projects, create an MXML Flex Module and then load it using the ModuleManager.Create an ActionScript class that extends Module and then configure your project to compile that into a Module.Load this new module instead. The project compiles, but crashes when running with the following error:"Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'containers' for locale 'en_US'."I believe the compiler is failing to compile the required class definitions into ActionScript only module, while it succeeds for the MXML module.I can see that my skeleton MXML module is slightly larger than my ActionScript module (66KB vs. 45KB).
I created flex application that loads a image. I compiled this app and ran in the computer where it was created. it works. when i try in a different system, the image does not load. I think it's chekcing for the image path.how to include image as part of the application
- Flash CS4 Professional Version 10.0.2, working in Actionscript 2
- I work with Mac OSX 6.4
I implemented a FLVPlayback component in a Flash file I've published on my website, so it could load an external movie without having to put it in the SWF itself. It works fine when using the SWF offline, but when I put it online it never runs on the first go. I either have to restart the browser, or when that doesn't work I'll have to wait for a few hours before it magically does what it's supposed to do.This goes for both Safari and Firefox on my Mac, and while using Firefox on a PC (I haven't tested different scenario's yet). Once it works, it'll always work on that particular computer in that particular browser. At first I thought the browser didn't allow internet access to the SWF (the FLV that it uses are hosted on a different site), but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Maybe it's a cache issue, but I haven't been able to prove that either.URL..I kept the actionscript at a minimum. When the play button is pressed, it simply goes to the next frame where the FLVPlayback component is ready to launch the content. As you can see on my website there is a visual loader when you select the play button, but this is just an endlessly repeating movie clip that doesn't do anything accept give the viewer the idea that something's loading.
I don't have an idea about Flash & ActionScript 3.0. Please help me regarding this issue.Suppose, I have created a simple flash application(say, Test1.fla & Test1.swf file has been generated and works fine). Now, I need to use this swf file in my Java application as son as a menu-item is selected/gets clicked by the user.
But, when I run my whole application in IE7 browser window, If I select the Flash menuitem by clicking on it, then no flash file[viz., contents of Test1.swf file] gets visible.Instead a blank page without any conents is displlayed. In addition to this, it don't/doesn't display any message like this:" Install Flash Player to view the contents of swf file you need."
I have a problem when I try to use the loadVars class in an ActionScript 2 (CS3) file. Actually, it works fine in the debugger but it doesn't work at all from a web browser (IE or FF).
This is my AS code :
ActionScript Code: _root.testURL = "http://REMOTE_SERVER_IP:PORT/FILE.html"; var myLoadVars:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); _root.info.text = "Loading...";
[Code]....
I can see "File loaded" in the info text field, but the file is not called (I checked the server log) when the swf file is loaded into an HTML page and displayed by a web browser. Thus, _root.sr.text is set to undefined.
I have followed up the 3d carousel tutorials and everything has gone great but, when I try to embed it to an html website it seems like the pictures don't show up. Everything works in fla. and swf. but it just wont show up in the browser.
