Jan 9, 2009I am currently working on a game and I am stuck. I do not know how to make a rounded surface that will act as a wall/barrier. It is pretty much a semi-circle. I know you can make a circle act as a barrier but I would need to use the perimeter of the circle. Also is there a way you can make an actual image a barrier? I am new at this but I know from reading up that making a rounded wall is pretty tough. I am going to use this wall to make a ball bounce or "roll" around it. Below is a picture of what I am trying to do. The black dot is the ball.

Jun 20, 2011So I have a simple game I'm making where you are a box shaped character and you have basic movement around the screen. I know how to make walls and the coding but I would like to make a wall that the character can't go through on either of the 4 sides or even a squiggly line that doesn't have a definite shape. And that does kind of work, but it's not stable (works better with one side only). Sometimes one side of the wall, the character will still be able to go through. The tool I'm using to make the wall is a rectangle tool if that makes any difference. And I'm on actionscipt 2.0 on adobe flash cs4.

Jul 19, 2005What I want to do is to make a gallery based on the tutorial gallery here (thumbs), but I want the user to be able to choose different galleries from within the movie. I figured that I could make a loop to cycle through the galleries, then nest another loop inside it to cycle through the pics, captions and thumbs. While I wrote, I constantly tested the output with trace commands, but when I tried nesting the loop I lost all output.. I'm pretty new to both Flash and Actionscript, so if theres an obvious solution I havent been able to see it.. This is my temp XML file:

Jan 19, 2010Attached is the red blood cell (rbc) animation. Each rbc is derived from the same symbol under multiple instances. And they all move randomly in the same x direction at random speeds. Unfortunately, I am unable to code for an arterial wall (ie. a boundary) so some of the rbc's end up leaving the animation at the wrong point (eg. from the top and bottom, instead of the right side).
I have two boundaries (named "top" and "bottom") but would like some help with AS2.0 to make these boundaries active rather than a part of the background. The code is inserted below, however it may be better to take a look at the actual fla:

Dec 23, 2010I have been asked to design an LCD wall application for a display like the one in this ad. Requirements are that the wall can display full screen video or partition the wall in different sections to display multiple video or images and video. I would like to understand what platform can be used to drive such beasts (what OS? what video card?). I wonder what software platform can drive multimedia on such a scale. Html5 + JavaScript would be OK on a single monitor, but on that scale would it slow down? Flash also is an interesting platform, as it is Air, but, once again, can it scale like that?
I am also considering the server architecture that is needed to drive a set of walls in the same location and the slideshow designer to create storyboards, but this is dependent on what client architecture will be embraced.

Dec 15, 2011In the comments of this question, users have commented that it's possible to insert a Flash applet into a Facebook wall post. I was under the impression this isn't possible without making a FB app.
I'm aware that FB will convert links to various media types - e.g. a link to a MP3 becomes automagically a SWF MP3 player, but the Flash applet used is chosen by FB's internal logic, not by the content of the post. Is it possible to embed a SWF applet of your own choosing?
As I haven't been able to find any documentation on this, has anyone else? Or, do you have some PoC code that does this?

Flash :: Linking An Inline Swf Wall Post To A Native Ios App
Oct 25, 2011I have a Facebook application where you can create an animation and share it on your wall. Each feed has a swf player that lets users to play the animation directly on the wall. (like any shared video). As IOS does not support flash, I have also created a native IOS application for playing those animations.
These posts can't be played on IOS devices, when touched, 'Flash Player update required' placeholder is shown.
What I want to do is, to have an alternative link for iPads to play these feeds on my native IOS app (like fb://APP_ID/video_url).
Is it possible to provide a native IOS App url for inline swf feeds?
