I have a video player in flex which constantly plays a movie. Is there a way to see how many times it has played? So each time the movie is played, text filled populates with +1.

The player is ARPlayer 1.7. The video is a mp4 file.
The file is perfectly played on a local computer, but after uploading to ftp stops being played. I don't why...
P.S. It's interesting that if I make simply an swf-video file, it's played good: [URL]. But I don't like this option, because the swf-video is 30MB vs 5MB of the mp4-video.
I wasn't able to add all the code before. Essentially after a movie plays I want the swf to reset to it's first original loading frame.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the name of the current file being played using a flash 8 video player (custom). Here's the code im using :

How does flash know which video is currently being played? Basically I want to set it up so that there is a 'activeVideo' varible that updates based on what video is currently being played.
When I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.
6 - I see the Height & Width referenced 3 times in the html file Flash created for me (and none are 640x480, they are 550x400 !)
7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?

View 2 RepliesI suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

As i said before, the player loads up and shows up on the website with no errorsand the buttons work (going to next or previous song as well as the pause and play buttons pausing and playing the music properly), but no sound can be heard. (this is being test on the latest version of firefox).
I am going to be revamping a required annual intranet training session for employees. For the first time, we are interested in including a video instead of having employees page through html screens/jsps.However, we need some sort of accountability. For example, we previously required that employees answer a multiple choice question correctly every few screens. No record was kept of attempts to answer; the application simply wouldn't proceed until the correct answer was selected.For the purposes of using the video, we'd simply like to verify that the video played thru (no fast forward).I've been perusing the different Events available and don't see exactly what I was hoping for.What would be the best approach to this? Should I disable the drag bar/fast forwarding and include code that checks to see if the video stopped and the buffer is empty?
View 2 RepliesI have 2 swf's and a activex media player on an asp page. I want the buttons on my swf to control what live stream the activex player plays. The stream urls are in a webservice that i connect with one swf then send to the other swf using "localconnection". So when you click on a button on the first swf, it then sends a list of available streams to the other swf, displaying them in their designated dynamic text fields, which are located on top of their corresponding buttons. In my "localconnection" i send both the name and the url from the first swf to the second. Basically I want to know if its possible to click on a button in a swf and control what stream is played through the media player on the same asp page.

I have a still image that comes to life from a video, so I really dont want to use controls but on the flip side the video will always play on launch of the page. As some Internet tutorial suggested I've built a simple server-client application for FLV Video Player using PHP and Flex. The problem I encountered is that I can't change the source of the video in the mxml file using Notepad++. The source could be changed if I run Flex but It's not a good idea because I want to run different videos through this player.how to run different videos with this Flex Video Player component because my application works only for this given in the source of FlexPlayer.mxml-maybe I shouldn't use this mxml file for the different Video Sources?

why my flash video player doesn't work in Chrome while it perfectly works in other browsers ? (Firefox and IE)
View 1 RepliesWe have this legacy code of a flash video player that functions well enough but still has some loose ends I need to tighten up. It can do the basic "switch to full screen and back to normal size" stunts, however with one exception.
On the first fresh load of the app, if I switch to full screen mode first, and then click to play the movie, the player would be in full screen, yet the movie itself would remain in it's original size.

The VideoDisplay object even returns the expected width/height, but the movie just plays in it's original size. If I switch screen sizes during movie playback, then the movie size will shrink or stretch as it should.
I have a mp3 that is retrieved from the server via "somepage.php?id=100". When I load this into spark VideoPlayer it doesn't work. But when I copy that URL and put it into the browser URL I get a dialog that asks if I want to download "sound.mp3".

It seems the audio is cued up in order when added to the creation complete meaning that if one audio file is loading another will not start until after the first has completed.
