Flex :: Video Streaming - Find All The Published Streams?

I want to create two swf (publisher and subscriber).I have created the publisher client which publishes the webcam video to the Red5 server.
Now I want to create the subscriber. I want some kind of combo box which lists all the streams being published at that moment. So that user can click on any of the stream name in the list to see that stream.
Q1. How the subscriber client can find all the published stream at that moment?
Q2. How the subscriber can update that list automatically (any events for which it can listen to so that it can add or delete stream from the list)?

I need to be able to play any stream published to our FMS application, without connecting to the application as regular users do. I am an administrator and the service is ours. Can I do so using Administration API, for instance? I sure can get the list of the streams, but I have not found a way to stream these as video yet. I am building an application not unlike Admin. console, but with more functions that we need. If Admin. console seems to be able to play streams, it must be possible?

I am building a custom administration application which has to review streams published to our FMS application. This is to ban clients publishing inappropriate content. I am wondering if I have to make a connection to the application, as normal users do, in order to play the published streams? I am getting the list of streams using another connection, to rtmp://domain:1111/admin, like outlined in Administration API, and issuing the 'getLiveStreams' call.
The reason I am asking is because firstly, I remember that the Administration Console can play streams published to the server, but I don't recall it incrementing the connection count which shows amount of user clients connected to an application. Maybe I have missed however, but if I am right and it indeed can play streams without connecting to the application (which actually DOES sound a bit unlikely, given how the stream names are local to an app.), then maybe I can do it too? Secondly, I presently have to differentiate users and administrators in my 'onConnect' script, because are perform completely different roles. If I could relieve my admin. app from connecting to the application, I could also dump the role switching.

It's easy to do on publishing clients, just use:http:[url]....How do we do it on the FMS? It doesn't appear to be possible according to these docs: http:[url]...What is the default for the FMS for the audioReliable, dataReliable and videoReliable properties?

We have installed FMS and have used it for a live streaming video event.The event lasted an hour and FMS worked great.How can I get statistics on that live stream? I'd like to know how many people saw the video, and how many people were watching at one time.

When broadcasting pre-recorded streams on a live applicationFMS always stops streaming at a certain time...
It can be after 10 seconds, it can be after 2 hours, or it can be after any other time, the frame just freezes on the client and the buffer drops to 0.
any attempt to diconnect / reconnect does not resume the streaming, althought the FMS console registers the connected client, no streaming is ensuing. One of the common events we get on the client in such instances when the streaming stops results in get "NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW".[code]...

I have the streaming server 3.5.3. The sample player page for the dynamic streaming is here: [URL].click on the dynamic sample. pause and wait a few minutes for disconnect from the server. When you hit play, it starts from that spot and also starts from the beginning in the background audio while showing the buffering orange circle the whole time.
My users are students watching long lectures, they pause all the time. when they come back, it is a mess.

Is it possible to use the VideoPlayer or VideoDisplay components in Flex 4 to stream a video from YouTube rather than just use the custom YouTube player? How? I want to serve a video inside a banner.

I want to give my users the ability to record a video from WebCam (maximum 60 seconds) so the file should be big with proper quality settings.Do you know of a way to record it in memory (as Flash running in browser can't access file System) and then send it to server to save the file? I have build a functionality to capture a photo with Webcam and send it to the server but not sure about Video.(I prefer not to stream to Red5/FMS or similar as it's more relaible to keep things contained in the Flash file in my opinion) plus I had issues with quality of recording with Red5

For past couple of days i have been trying to make the .nsv streaming files to work in my flex framework. when i call it the data starts getting downloaded but i figured it out that the video object is unable to play this . I tried this for Shoutcast TV streams where i got lots of .nsv file formats.
So i just want to ask Whether somebody has tried to play the .nsv streams from shoutcast into flex.

I have a streaming server (for pushing data not video) setup with GraniteDS and it works great. I have to include multiple swf files in a web page. Each of these swf files has a data table which includes streaming data(this is a specific requirement - so I really cant combine all data tables into 1 huge data table/swf file). All the swf files however, connect to the same gravity channel/streaming endpoint.
How many connections are there from the web page to the streaming server? Does each swf file start a new streaming connection? Or do all them share the same connection since they are just connecting to a single channel?

Am building a video chat application and i was wondering if there are any native events for the NetStream that fire,that can help in detecting when a remote client starts/stops streaming video over his outgoing stream (NetStream) to which the other client has subscribed over P2P/RTFMP in AS3 ?I maybe able to dispatch custom messages since the two clients are already connected, but i don't want to add the extra overhead.

Need to design a flash video player which can run multiple angles of video at the same time. The primary video will run at full size, and the other angles will run at a much smaller sample size at the bottom of the video. User will then be able to select whichever angle of video he likes and upon clicking the smaller video it will become full screen/mainplayer shell. The video which was previously full screen will then take its place among the other smaller videos.

whether sending media streams from AS from sources other than Webcams and Mics is possible or not? Seems like doing this with NetStream object is almost impossible since the only video and audio sources it accepts are Camera and Microphone objects. Imagine that I already have access to both video files and raw flv stream bytes, audio and video interleaved together.

I'm including a video with it's controls into a frame in flash.When I try it and publish it as SWF the control bar of the video shows but when I publish it as a .app for mac or a .exe for windows and run itthe video shows but not the controls

My CDN is running FMS, and my customers and I stream a lot of live traffic through it. We've got FMS configured to auto-archive our live streams, but that only works for stream using VP6 video. When I look at the archived files captured from H.264 streams I get audio but no video.
Is it possible to get FMS to autoarchive H.264 streams? Or is this planned for a future release of FMS?

I am planning an implementation for a lecture capture solution for a local university. It is supposed to record all aspects of the lecture: the presenter will be recorded using videocamera + mic, his desktop activity is captured and optionally the whiteboard is captured as well (using Mimio). These input streams arrive (as video streams) to a computer that stores the recording on its harddisk. The file format for the recording should be able the hold multiple streams (Matroska for example).
The recording will be available from the uni's website. So at the client-side Flash seems a natural choice.
The player should display the different input sources into different rectangular regions of the player. One region displays the presenter, another region displays the desktop recording.
Is it possible to use a Matroska file as source for Flash streaming? If yes, how?
If no, is there another container format more suitable for this? The FLV format can only hold one audio and one video file. Is it possible to have one Flash client receive multiple streams and diplay them in different regions of its own canvas?

I'm trying to play multiple video streams simultaneously. However, I cannot synchronize these videos to play at the same rate.
I have three 45-second videos in FLV format and I use flash.net.NetStream to play these videos. I call netstream.play() of these netstream at the same time (by using a for-loop). However, these videos are out-of-sync even all videos files are on my local machine.
For example, when the wall clock is at 10th second, the first video is at 7th second, the second video is at 10th second, and the last video is at 5th second.
I think it may be affected by different jitter delays when streaming. However, I still cannot find the way to solve this problem.

I am writing a Red5 application that provides 1-on-1 video chat to a Flash client over RTMP.
Unfortunately most tutorials I was able to find were sketchy at best and the documentation of Red5 itself tends to be vague when it comes to API concepts and intended usage.
In short, I am a bit stuck and looking for hints on Red5 ApplicationAdapter implementation. Gnarly details are as follows:
First of all, the connections come in two flavors: visitors and consultants. A visitor should be able to indicate which consultant it wishes to communicate with. A consultant simply gets connected to the requesting visitor as long as the consultant is not busy servicing another. Obviously, every RTMP connection has two-way traffic: both sending and receiving video. From the standpoint of the server, connections bring in a bunch of video streams that get their receiving endpoints assigned by request. Since several video conversations can be in progress simultaneously, the main task of the application is to handle the mapping of visitor streams to consultants and provide a list indicating each consultant's state (busy/available) via AMF.
So, all in all, I have a pretty good idea what I am aiming for but how to achieve it with Red5 is still a bit of a mystery.
What is the easiest way to establish the connection type (visitor/consultant)? Which API classes should be used to implement a persistent, globally accessible list of active connections for reporting the state of each consultant? How to switch receving endpoints dynamically when the goal is to connect a specific visitor to the selected consultant?

How are live flash video streams broadcasted? I am guessing that as the broadcast is recording, the people that are watching are watching what has been recorded to an flv file a few seconds ago, making it 98-99% live, since it is a few seconds off of the actual recording time.

Can't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home.All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).

I am running Windows 7/64 and Master Collection. I've created a clip of DV NTSC footage to test F4V publishing. Done this many times with CS3 and flv files but this has me stumped. I can successfully view the video and web page locally in IE and Netscape but on upload to my server I have the menu and placement right but no video appears. I created the clip in Premiere Pro CS5 and exported to F4V/FLV best quality. Opened an Actionscript Media DV NTSC template in Flash Pro CS5 and imported the video which I had pre-placed in my root web folder locally. I then exported the swf and saved the fla. All files were then in my root folder and the scrpts in the scripts folder. In Live View in Dreamweaver CS5 all looked fine. In each browser locally the video played as expected. Once all files were uploaded the video was not visible.
