I have been trying to figure out the best way to load content into a container on an .php page which has three different .swfs already loaded - one is an mp3 player which I do not want to stop playing (this will obviously happen on a page refresh). The objective is to keep a flash menu for navigation given it's nice animation capabilities, but load page content into a container underneath. There are JavaScript files out there that work in conjunction with php (ajax) to accomplish this, but once I throw flash into the mix everything goes sideways. I know you can include js with the ExternalInterface.call function, but this only solves the js portion not the php bit.

1) on this dude's site, Beyond the Pixel, he/she's got the style sheet repeating a trend gif. I created one myself and have got it working on my htm file. Problem is, I want to be able to get the htm repeated image to seamlessly blend into my swf file. How did BTP do it? I assume I need to estimate the pixel distance (the repeated gif I'm using is 5x5 pixels) then absolute place the swf file using proper css placement code. Then I'd just start that same gif in flash on the movie's edge and repeat it across the movie (x and y). I think I'm right on the former, but feel that I'm being to simplistic in the latter.
2) I followed this tutorial on preloaders. Got it to work, even managed to get it to load vertically and change the size of the loadBar. Problem, and it may not be on true publishing, but when I test the movie, the preloader does its deal but right before it goes to frame 3 to display a ND picture, a little green box pops up in the upper left of the frame. It does this every time. I'm using Flash MX '04 on a G5.
I'm an interior architect at a small architecture firm and I have been tasked with updating the firms website. I have no prior experience with flash, but have been able to learn enough to update all expcept for the portfolio section. For some reason, when I add three additional frames to the portfolio gallery timeline, it repeats the previous three frames before playing the new three. This happens only when I publish the file, when I run the timeline and view it on the stage everything appears fine.
View 3 RepliesI've created a banner ad (attached) for my company and intended to have it appear as a rectangle with rounded edges (transparent corners). It seems like I need to create a transparent border or mask to have my animated banner appear in this way.
Can I add a mask or a border to the whole thing just to make the rounded corners transparent and see the background colour of the site I'm putting it on?
Note: the corners are currently white. I can't change the colour to match the site background as 1. the banner will be shown in different places, and 2. the background is a gradient.
I've created a website in Flash and have posted it to the net. I want it to scale as the user resizes the window, but having little formal training in Flash I'm not entirely sure how to go about it.
View 4 Repliesis there anyway to have a published flash swf fill 100% of the browser? especially when the broswer resizes, so does the movie to match the browser size?
View 2 RepliesI have been looking for a tutorial or thread to help me figure this out. I am trying to make a site that when the browser is resized the objects in the site either resize or keep their position and stay visible. The link below is an example of exactly how I want this to work.[URL]...
Im working in AS2, and Im not sure if this can be done in flash alone or needs to be done in html or a combination of both.
I am trying to get a regex match on HTML code that is parsed into a text box in flash. I have successfully loaded the HTML code and then began the regex matching, but am stuck on getting the right regex expression to match. The code that I am using in html page builds a tree view list on the html page, so once it's loaded into the flash text box, i am trying to match the html pages to build a list from. The code below is what I am trying to match.
The code I want to match is the first two items in quotes for each entry to build the array list of page names, and their URL. The problem is that the pages won't be named as nice as the example below. Each time it can be a different page name, and page url, so I need to match what is in the first two quotes.
[Code]...
So I'm trying my hands on some full browser flash and after reading a couple of tuts I wrote this
Code:
#include "mc_tween2.as"
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
stageListener = new Object();[code]...
The trace's are because it didn't work like I thought it would.Etc the middle movieclip didn't center itself but rather positioned itself seemingly how it pleased so I traced its x position and the var stageXcenter position and like suspected it shows different values.

View 2 RepliesSo I published my Flash Movie using the HTML settings of Match Movie Size, rather than Fit To Screen (fit to percent, I believe it is) under the publish settings options. This way it works great, but there is no scrollbar on the browser. So my stage size is pretty big, lets pretend its 1200x1200 lol. So, now I want every monitor in the world to be able to see the entire page. I do not want it to fit to their screen, but I want them to be able to scroll down using their browsers scrollbar rather than a scrollbar within the SWF itself.
So imagine you are on a 15 inch monitor, and you are browsing my 1200x1200 HTML page, calling the SWF. You need to be able to scroll down to see the bottom, and scroll right to see the right side. Why is the browser scrollbar not appearing? Is there anything I must do?
The HTML content below the flash content not displaying in IE8 browser. Here is the code:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,24" width="100%" height="100%">

Is there a solution to have the background audio/music play across multiple page on a website, WITHOUT restarting on every page load.The website currently uses a frameset, but I'm looking for an alternative.
View 2 RepliesI'm developing a Flash application which is communicating with Javascript to allow more features such as custom html input etc., by placing an absolute positioned div on top of the flash application and controlling it's position etc. with Flash & Javascript.
Because these html elements have to appear above the flash content, I figured the following basic css would be enough to do the trick:
#flashContent {
position: absolute;
left: 0px;
[Code].....
So, the htmlContent has a higher z-index than the flash content and thus it should be shown above it. Unfortunately, this only seems to work when you set the Flash object's "wmode" parameter to "transparent".
The problem with this setting is that it's seriousely decreasing the application's framerate to an unacceptable amount.
For static content this does not seem to be a problem, however for my application there's all kinds of elements that you can drag around which have to be moved real-time (while moving the mouse).
So, how do I enable html content on top of flash content without using the "transparent" wmode parameter or how do I optimize framerate when using the "transparent" wmode parameter?
I have an xml doc which works beautifully....now I want to edit the "content" so that it display html content, ie....within the text of the "content" I could add bold tags or add a links or something like that....I have looked up and down and no thread I could find has a straight forward definitive answer...not just on here either...is it that difficult...i doubt it?I will have to set the properties of my text box to accept html...right?so something like this....
theText.html = true;
THis was my attemp...(the first part)...but no deal...
Code:
<icons><icon image="shoes.png" tooltip="www.shoes4crews.co.uk" content="I made this...<![CDATA[<a [code]....

View 4 RepliesI have UILoader that loads images 427x240, then I thought to load an external swf dimensions 427x273. So I resized UILoader to height 273, now the images on load are positioned vertical middle, gap top and bottom, i need this to be absolute Top. How do I set UILoader loaded content to position Top?

View 4 RepliesWhenever I include flash content on a page it causes IE & FF3+ to redraw the background.This does not happen in Google Chrome, Safari, or FF2.
On every page of my site there is a small flash animation that is in a hidden div. That flash content become visible and plays on a mouse-over event. That all works fine. However, in the above mentioned browsers, that flash content causes the site's background to be redrawn on every page-load, causing a flicker. Is there any way to prevent this? A google search revealed other people having the same issue, but no resolution.

I am using the SWFObject and alternative content for a flash navigation. Unfortunately, if the viewer does have Flash installed, a white box appears before the nav appears. I am using a gif as a tiling background image for the nav, therefore the swf has a transparent background. Everything is good except for the second that the white box shows up.here's a bit of CSS and XHTML, but I have looked at this as well as the flash document, but I have been able to resolve the issue, and I'm out of ideas.
View 2 RepliesI have a project in which the client would like the contents to be centered on his browser but the background to fill the whole window... this would be simple enough if the background was a solid color... the problem I am facing is that the background has a design to it (see attached). I found a good tutorial on: [URL] ...that is the basics of what I am trying to achieve, but not quite there. The RED bars on my attachment would be the center of the content...
View 4 RepliesI downloaded a file for full screen re-sizable background flash. I'm new to Flash. I started to make site from there, but when I draw anything, & compile it. my drawing goes behind this background.
View 1 RepliesI want to use a gradient as background for my flash movie, but I want this background to cover the whole browser's window just like Adopt Design does it (check out Adopt Design). The content of the flash movie should NOT be resizable with the browser's window though. So, I used this code:
[Code]...
in the HTML file I did set the margins to 0pix and the SWF's height and width to 100%. But when I type in the address in the browser to open the page the first time, I see the flash movie in the center with white background around it anyway, and when I resize the browser's window (even if just 1pix) everything is perfect. What's happening? check the problem in a JPG: the site (notice what changes when you resize the window, after opening)[URL]
I'm building a flash website. I want the background to be a .jpg photograph which fills the entire area outside the browser. I understand that it is possible to scale background to fit different sized computers, but I don't understand how that doesn't distort the image when viewed on a widescreen computer. Is there some way tocreate a site that shows a portion of the image on a 800 x 600 monitor, a little more of the image on a 1024 x 768 monitor and even more a 1650 x 1050 monitor.
View 1 Replieswhere i can find a script to attach to a movie/background image so that i can make the movie clip pan left or right based on the mouse position (with easing too!)? Example http:[url].... make sure you enter the site thats where you will see what i mean. I've been wanting to create a page like this for some time using png files and transperency and multiple layers.
View 9 RepliesI was following this tutorial on how to add a scrolling image gallery to a Flash website.
([URL]) From what I understand from this tutorial, it is just a matter of copying the Actionscript code and pasting it onto the timelines then making modifications on the XML. (kindly see a screenshot of timeline layers I made and as to where I put the Actionscript code: [URL]) I pasted the code onto the blank keyframe labeled "Gallery". But all I get is this weird effect when I click on the button for the gallery... (kindly see a screenshot of it here: [URL])

I have some preloader (timeline-based) content and some FLV's that I want the user to see while other content is loading in the background. The preloaded content and the FLV's are very choppy while the content is loading and run fine afterward. I initially thought this might be a RAM issue, but my other apps are running fine at the same time (YouTube, etc.) so I think it's an issue within my code or Flash Player. How do the really nice preloaders (animation on timeline OR FLV's) run so smoothly while background content is loaded? For example, are they independent SWF's? internalized classes exported for Actionscript? some other option I'm not privy to? Mine, for example, are internal classes in the main library that I have exported for AS.
