Dec 22, 2011I'm new to HTML. I used the following code for a default skin<embed src="***.mp3" width="400" height="100" autostart="true"></embed>

View 1 RepliesI tried to use the pre built flv skins from adobe flash.. But as i'm generating the flv source dynamically in my website i am unable to pass the source name in the HTML page.
View 1 RepliesI use flash audio player like:

and I want to use hotkeys for audio play, so I need to know html element id for play button.
I'm using an mp3player skin, but the running time won't work (bottom of code)--it stays at "0:00" when you hit play. Everything else is working fine.[code]
View 1 RepliesI'm looking for a (free) flash player that I can embed in my site and use to play a .m4a (.mp4 with AAC audio) file that will be obtained using a URL (i.e. it's not local to the server hosting the web page).I've tried searching on google for one, but either I'm searching wrong or no one has made such a thing. Ideally this would be very simple (small user interface with play button and maybe a progress bar) and it would be easy to have multiple instances of on an html page (can create the player with an <object> tag).
View 7 RepliesIs there a solution to have the background audio/music play across multiple page on a website, WITHOUT restarting on every page load.The website currently uses a frameset, but I'm looking for an alternative.
View 2 RepliesI need to execute some javascript string code from flash swf file using actionscript 3.
I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.
I am trying to use HTML to embed a flash video, however I encounter the following errors:
Error #2044: Unhandled skinError:. text=[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text=" Error #2035: URL Not Found. URL: SkinOverPlaySeekStop.swf"] Here is my HTML code:
[Code]...
Whenever I open the page I'll get a popup window with the above errors and once I click "continue" it will go ahead and play the video, but without the control skin. how to get the skin to show up?
We're currently building a Flex application using the PureMVC framework with a shell.swf which loads/unloads modules dynamically. We're experiencing issues with memory and we're looking to replace the shell.swf with a JavaScript-based loader.Two questions:What would be a good framework to dynamically load the Flex components and allow the modules to communicate between each other?Would dynamically loading/unloading the modules via JavaScript take care of the typical memory problems associated with Flex/Flash applications?
View 1 RepliesI want to make div into my intex.htm file (already built site) to place in a .swf file that will cover the whole screen, and a few seconds later the animated page will disapear and the htm page will appear. I don't want to make different htm file, neither put a button on flash(ie on click...). I just want after a few seconds and after the flash has ended, the flash will go away and the page will appear.
View 1 RepliesSkinParts are a great way to add event handlers and logic to an object that is instantiated in the skin, away from any business code. Often, though, I find myself wanting to do the opposite, and define parts that will be used in reusable, skinnable containers in the parent mxml files which will be inserted into the skinned containers.
What's the best practice for when you want to be able to define a control and a skin which can be reused with different controls inserted from outside the skin? Edit: A better way to put this might be that I want to use something that works a little bit like a SkinnableContainer, but that isn't limited to one area where content can be placed.
I'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.
I extend Button to create ImageButton, and I extend ButtonSkin to create ImageButtonSkin. But, when I define hostComponent like this:
public var hostComponent:ImageButton
I get an error that there is a conflict with hostComponent:ButtonBase inside the ButttonSkinBase. How do I extend a skin AND provide a new hostComponent for it?
I am interested in streaming audio on my website, but I have no clue where to begin. There are two types of streaming I hope to achieve. The first would be streaming a playlist of songs stored on the server and the second would be live audio streaming. Can anybody recomend any good sites or plugins to use?
View 2 RepliesI've made a website, to test the html5 audio. Unfortunately some browser doesn't support it. How to use a flash backend? I haven't found anything useable. The flash backend examples on the web use the DOM element, not the new Audio(). I don't want to use JQuery for this little experiment.
My code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>

I just started developing flash recently and I need to globally mute the audio in an swf by javascript ... I've got the following functions in my AS3 already.
Code:
function mute():void
{
var st:SoundTransform = new SoundTransform(0);
SoundMixer.soundTransform = st;
[code]...
Do I need to use addCallback() somehow to trigger this through javascript?
This problem is happening is both IE8 and IE7. I have a small swf compiled with flex. It's basically just a wrapper around audio streaming functionality. All the controls and such are in html with javascript. I load the swf using swfobject's "static" method. This works great in Firefox and Chrome. In IE, the swf loads correctly, but as soon as I try to stream any audio with it, I get an error. EDIT: I've reduced the code quite a bit to try and find the problem. You can see the new version running here. Here is the error, html and flex files for my reduced version:

I'm looking to start learning a scripting language for web audio and sound development. It needs to be able to handle simultaneous audio events, eg; to trigger a sound when another is playing (I'm not sure if and how this is possible, but have witnessed this kind of presentation: [URL] (can this kind of thing be done with JavaScipt?, this looks like AS / Flash)).
From what I can tell the choice appears to be between JavaScript (JS) and ActionScript (JS), with details as follows: - If going the JS route (look into JS and HTML(5) audio capability) Learn about the basics of HTML and CSS, and then start to look into JavaScript, Ajax, and JQurey (library / framework for JavaScript). If going the AS route Will not need to know as much about HTML and CSS. AS is the language behind Flash. Not supported on the i-phone(?) I know Java to around an intermmediate level.

Is it possible to make desktop Air application by using HTML/JavaScript and Flash?Actually I want to make an Air app (which is for desktop) by using flash and want to use HTML , javascript and CSS as well.Is it possible ?
View 1 RepliesAre there any free audio players that I can use in my website? Are they customizable?
I've heard of Soundmanager 2. It's a flash based player with a javascript front-end.
Are there any other free players like that?
Is is possible to detect within JavaScript of Flash if there is auto audio another flash object (mostly ad) on the page?
View 2 RepliesIn an ideal world, I could do this through a browser in real-time and send a notification that would include the DOM information needed to remove the ad. In this type of model, I could theoretically then use all clients (web visitors) as test subjects. I believe that this might be far fetched, and thus will need to rely on a smaller subset of users. I'm looking for any way to do this. I have even thought about using speakers and a microphone to detect when a sound is playing, and then some how capture a screenshot and the DOM information.
View 1 RepliesThis isn't another one of those "How can I record audio in the browser?" questions... I know that the HTML5 Stream API is around the corner and Flash can already access the user's microphone and camera. I'm simply wondering, as a Javascript developer with little knowledge of Flash, if anyone has developed a JS library that hooks into Flash's device capabilities for recording but sends the results back to javascript (presumably using ExternalInterface).
In other words... libraries like SoundManager2 utilize a Flash fallback for audio playback, but they don't seem to allow for recording. Has anyone written a JS library that uses an invisible Flash movie to allow audio recording?
I am trying to capture the microphone and send the recording to my server.. I tried this method here but it records only a big WAV and the upload can be slow sometimes. Is there a way to capture the voice and compress it on the client side? Best method would be to send the recording while recording, but I have no Idea if this is possible. (It works for YouTube Live Webcam recording, it must work for Audio only too..)
View 1 RepliesMy client wants SteelExternalAll as the skin for her swf. It's not on the skinning menu in CS3. Is it possible to download it somewhere?
View 2 RepliesHow can we embed the over,up,down etc skins defined as sybols in a .swf file... i mean in skin file how can i specify those symbols to be used as up,over,down skins.
View 1 RepliesI was reading about Flex- JavaScript communication via ExternalInterface.But I had a doubt, it said that the javascript code should be written in the HTML file of the application ? Now which is this HTML file ? Is it the index.template.html file per project or the HTML file created per MXML application ?
View 3 RepliesI'm able to record sound with a Flash application embedded in my website, this audio is saved to a ByteArray, which I need to pass to Javascript in order to post to my server along with other required data.
I know I can use AS3 ExternalInterface class to communicate with Flash from Javascript, but what would be the appropriate format or variable type in javascript to hold the ByteArray, and how can I ensure that I won't lose much audio data when doing so?
I've got a flash player (using JWPlayer) that plays an audio file. The file plays fine. How do I provide the embed code for end-users to copy, so they can post the player and play the audio file on their own site directly? Should I be using HTML <pre> tags somewhere? Or JavaScript to generate the embed code / link?
