Javascript :: FlashObject 'is Not A Function' Error Only In Firefox

I have a page with a flash chart to display. First, I make a separate AJAX call to grab the chart data, and then process it in javascript and call the flash object functions like this:

A script on my page is causing an infinite loop in FireFox. Here is the Javascript: function expandMothersRings(new_height) { window.scrollTo(0, 0); $('#mr-container').animate({ height: new_height }, 100, function() { // Animation complete. });}

There is no issue in IE or Chrome. But for some reason the expandMothersRings function is infinitely looping in FF. The flex object is not expecting any return value from Javascript. Also if I change the JS function to look like: function expandMothersRings(new_height) { alert(new_height); } Then it only executes once. So something in the function is causing it to loop in Firefox.
I am refactoring some code. I have a PHP page that contains a MySQL query and stores the result in a PHP variable $my_result. This result is then echoed to a Flash SWF during embedding with SWFObject. I now want to call this PHP page that makes the query from a javascript function like so - one change I have made to the PHP is that instead of storing the result in a variable $my_result I am echoing the result. I have an issue with my ExternalInterface. The way it is currently set up is, on the page load up, a boolean is set to true in JavaScript and then checked by ActionScript constructors (using a timer) until it is true. This marks that JavaScript is ready to get calls from AS3.
At this point, AS3 will add the callback and do some internal stuff, and at the end of the constructor I call JavaScript. So far so good. JavaScript will at this point call a function in AS3 (that was defined in the callback described above), and this is where it all messes up.
On IE this works perfectly fine. On FireFox though, it does not. When I debug it, I see that the javascript function is called but when it tries to call AS3, nothing happens. I also tried to add a timer, but for some reason the function STILL executes straight away (in IE).
I'm trying to call a method inside a flash movie from js, every time the mouse leaves the "div". It works on Internet Explorer, but not in firefox. Here is the html script:
Here is example of the problem, there is an alert for the js and the flash should be able to remove the swf (see a gray background? it works! see a image, flash didn't receive the call): [URL]. This should work with internet explorer / safari / chrome (pc/mac) only firefox seams to reject this.
I have a big problem with my firefox plugin: I have a button, which opens a new window for me, where I want to include that .swf file.

Without the html:embed, the window opens without problems, but as soon as I change that, firefox crashes without warning or something, it just disappears from the process bar. The .swf file works properly when I open it from my operating system (its windows 7 64 bit) and is coded in as3.
I have found a way to send a play(); command to my Flash movie in IE9 but I can't figure it out in Firefox9. Here is the code I am using that works in IE:
I have a very odd issue with Firefox 3. Take the following code

The startAds function is called from javascript. When run in IE 6 & 7 everything works fine. When run in Firefox 3 i can see it enter the function and even assign and intervalId but the function set in the setInterval function never gets called. If i call setAds from actionscript and run it in Firefox 3 it works ok. Its just when the startAds function is called from javascript in Firefox 3.
check this page: [URL] For whatever reason, the flash slideshow moves over 1 pixel when opened in Firefox on my Mac. All other browsers render it fine, but only on Firefox it leaves a 1 pixel white gap on the left!
I am using the most recent version of SWFObject. This unfortunately is a garbage Weebly site and I cannot use jQuery in the system so I can't do a real gallery... so let's save the whole "don't use Flash for that" pep talk. It's a favour for a friend and I am already aware of better ways to do it. :)
I'm trying to add mediaelement.js to my site to present a single player for any MP3 link on a particular page. The design is working fine for IE 9 and Chrome 11 (which have HTML5 MP3 support), but it has an issue with the flash fallback on Opera 11 and FireFox 4. Clicking any MP3 link on the page uses the .setSrc() method of media element player to change the source of the player, but in Opera and FF, the first time this method is called, it returns error "this.media.setSrc is not a function". Any call to the function after that works fine.
Another issue is after the element containing the player is hidden "display:none" and then displayed again, calling the .pause() function will produce error "this.pluginApi.pauseMedia is not a function". After that error is thrown, subsequent calls work fine until the element is hidden and displayed again.
I have a html/flex app loaded in an iframe, and wmode is set to 'opaque'. I have 'mousemove' listener attached to the document of flex app and document of the parent. Once I mousedown in the flex part of iframe and move my mouse around, i can see the logs from the iframe. However, when I move the mouse around in the parent, i dont see logs from the parent. But, if I mousedown on the html part of the iframe, i can see logs from both iframe and parent. Same sort of bug is reported in Firefox 4/5, which breaks html part of it. Visit [URL]
I am building a video player web-app that uses flash for playback and jquery/javascript for UI. By design of the person who wrote the flash component I need to use setVariable to communicate between the javascript and the flash player. I've read all over the internet that a lot of people have had problems gettin setVariable to work in FireFox. I designed my app in firefox because i wanted to use firebug to help me in development. Now that the whole thing has been built, i find that setVariable is not working in IE. I know it is not right out of the box, but is there a hack anywhere that uses javascript, php, or even flash to play the MP4s if the html5 video tag isn't supported?

Through my website (easier, as i can detect the browser)
sending an email which will have a player to stream the audio
restrictions.
1. Firefox wont play MP3
2. Iphone/ipad wont play flash
3. Iphone/ipad wont play ogg
4. Emails have trouble with javascript -jplayer (potential of ending in the trash)
problem. if i send via an email, i cant detect the browser, so cant choose ogg, flash, etc.
Solutions - 1. Use HTML 5 and embed a player stream mp3... works in iphone, ie8, chrome....not in firefox (mp3 issue) and older ie browsers (html5 issue).
use jplayer.... i expect the email to dislike the javascript and throw into the trash, plus will firefox play the mp3 audio? use flash.... i expect iphone/ipad not to work, also will it play from an email?
I have a flash-based ad that displays/hides based on some javascript. It works in Firefox, Safari, Chrome ... but not in Internet Explorer 8. This is for donations to a non-profit during the holiday season,
I have a flash within a holder div (flash container). I use swfobject to insert the flash object (if it makes any difference). I want to resize that holder div to make it smaller in width, when I achieve the "second level" in my "flash application". (with jQuery .animate() function). What "flash application" mean: I have a human body on wich I can click in different body areas. That is the first action - and the effect is to zoom onto that specific area of the body.
Then I can click again on a more specific zone into that area - and the effect consists in fetching some stuff via ajax. (it's some medical stuff, diseases etc.) - that's the "second level" in my "flash application". Then I can click on that stuff fetched via ajax - that's when I resize the flash holder. The problem is that, because of this resizing, my flash reloads and comes back to it's original state, without that zoom level. This reload appears in the "second level", and not when I click on the stuff fetched via ajax and the flash holder resizes. But that's the cause of the reload, because without this resizing, it's all ok. The problem is just in Firefox, I tested it in IE6,7,8, Opera 10, Safari latest and Chrome and there's nothing wrong there, the flash does not realod. Hope you understand what I'm saying here :) if not I cand send you a private message with the URL to see what I mean (I can't make it public)
I have a picture upload function in my flash and when I upload a picture I lose focus on the flash. This results in that all my listeners disappears. I cant click buttons, use dragbars etc. This only happens in FF. Im using flash player 10 and Snow Leopard. ive tried to get the focus back by sending a call to javascript:
Here's the challenge: I have a Flash movie which will be embedded in a page using an unknown DOM ID that I want to be able to identify/store for callback in a JS function. My ideal user flow would be: User clicks button in Flash. Flash pauses any animations / video / sounds / etc. Flash calls an injected JS function to display a page-covering overlay experience. When user closes overlay experience, a callback method on the Flash object is called. Flash resumes playback.
The problem is, when AS3 uses the ExternalInterface.call("functionName", args...) method, there doesn't seem to be a DOM event triggered, and thus it is impossible to tell which object called a JS function, so having a "registerMe()" function doesn't seem to work. Basically, the injected JS function has no way to determine which DOM object to call, because the ID of the Flash object is unknown.
I'd like to call a javascript function from an embedded .swf file. Specifically, I'd like to call a function in one of my externally linked javascript files from within: function loadTrack(){

which is in an .as file which I assume somehow becomes the swf file. How would I go about this and 're-compile' the .as file?
let suppose i have a object named "data" which has a callBack function named "closeItem" which does something. So i have flash file which has a close button. on click of that i am calling this function which closes this item. So issue is? If i pass this "closeItemFunction" as global function this works fine. but if a pass this function as a "data.closeItem" this doesn;t work throwing some falsh error. so i just wanna ask that "does flash only call gobal scoped javascript function" ??

Is there a way to modify that call (maybe using ASP Javascript) so you can call different movies calling the same page with different parameters?. I haven't been able to get this working. It seems to be that the "FlashObject" call cannot have any variables on it.This is the way I'm trying it:
1. The call to the page would be: http:[url]....
2. Add javascript to get value passed:[code]....
It just doesn't work. The FlashObject.js doesn't seem to like that call.
I am loading a flash program, with an automatic redirect to a frame (frame 2, in this case). Each frame has a different menu system on it, linking to a URL.
However with firefox the first two elements of this frame does not show up. Very frustrating.
I am creating a website in Flash and getting error #1009 in Firefox and IE on pc only (all browsers on mac are fine). If I remove all of the buttons that appear within the site (everywhere except Frame 1), the problem disappears, but I need to have those internal links. I have tried hiding the buttons in Frame 1, adding the code for them in the actions layer of Frame 1, and then duplicating them on other pages, to no avail. This is the end of a multi-month project, and now I'm unexpectedly totally stuck
I am trying to load a game but it doesn't. There is no messgae in firebug so does that mean you only get certain error messages not all? Obviously in the flash .Is there a better debugging tool for online swfs like monster...
