Jul 9, 2010I have been searching for a way to create a button that when pressed, opens the "save as" dialogue box and saves a screenshot of the stage of an .swf.
I am using this for a game in which movie clips can be moved around the stage. When the button is pressed, it would take a screenshot of the stage with the movie clips in the position they were moved to and then save this screenshot.
The screenshot would just be a picture (such as .PNG, .jpeg, etc.), not the actual .swf file.
Is this button possible to create with just Actionscript in Flash?
Flash :: YouTube Chromeless/JavaScript API Player Full-Screen Button?
Dec 11, 2009I have implemented chromeless player and so far the necessary controls such as play, pause, change video, mute, unmute all appear to work fine through JavaScript. I now need to send the chromeless player to "Full Screen" mode via JavaScript.
The JavaScript API player includes the full screen button but the chromeless player does NOT; infact; the chromeless player is not supposed to contain ANY button. I therefore need to set full screen mode via JavaScript but could not find any documented method for this.

Feb 11, 2012I want to take a screenshot from my website of another website or preferable 1 part of it (an object tag).I want it to work this way: I click on a button that will send a request to screenshot the page at this moment. Several ideas are insert the page inside a flash object and screenshot it. Or opening a browser on the server and when I click the button send a request using AJAX to tell the server to screenshot with this browser.How should I do this because I kind of failing right now with the flash Idea. The page I am trying to screenshot is a live camera that uses a .wvx object. But I can't even do that with a .swf object

The player im falling back to is JQplayer as "player.swf"

If I give viewstack percent height=100%, first view works fine and second view gets clipped or has a vertical scroll bar inside view stack. If I dont mention viewstack height and set resizeToContent to true, second view works fine and first view takes up only small part of screen. I want vertical scrollbar but for entire window, not just for viewstack. How to accomplish this ?

Jul 9, 2011I tested my skin for YouTube Chromeless player, and seems it worked properly.All graphic elements, including TLFTextFields, are stored in external SWF, all the AS3 code - in loading SWF.I use ProLoader class to load SWF.However, when I tried to attach Player skin code to my Home Page code, I immediately bumped into two issues:
1. TLFTextFields ceased to display proper font;
2. YouTube Chromeless player ceased to enlarge up to Full Screen width in Full Screen mode, whereas all publishing settings were kept the same...
Although I managed to cope with TLFTextField bug by replacing instances with vars in loaded SWF, I have no the slightest idea what to do with those paddings in Full Screen mode... Neither removing all children on stage before loading YouTube Player skin, nor compulsory resetting player's size can't make it work...

Javascript :: Disable Caching YouTube Videos?
Oct 1, 2010YouTube achieved quite a feat when they made youtube videos work with cache. However, this is causing a problem on my ajax site and would like to know if there is a way to disable youtube videos being cached. Especially in Internet Explorer.
I cannot disable caching for the whole page as I need caching to work for images and other content for speed reasons.

Dec 22, 2010Is it possible to use Flash JavaScript API with YouTube videos? The only function that I got to work reasonably is "Zoom". TotalFrames() gives "1" and TCurrentFrame('/') is always "0". Other functions seem to do nothing. For testing this I'm just using the live Google Playground Demo with "ytplayer" as the movie object. Most of what I want to do can be done with the Google API, but I still feel uncomfortably unclear on the three way relationship of YouTube videos, swfobject, and Flash.

It seems that IE6 ignores the <object> tag, here's the code it embeds.

Jul 6, 2011Recently I have made a simple flash application that utilizes a webcam feed and an embedded chromeless youtube player within it. I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?

YouTube videos appear as a white screen when embedded on the page in Chrome. I hear sound.2 The video is normal when I switch to full-screen mode.3. HTML5 videos display normally in Chrome4. Firefox displays YouTube videos without any problem.5. Ubuntu Lucid 10.4, with the same software components, displays YouTube video in Chrome without problems.Any thoughts on correcting this odd problem?

May 13, 2010I have a lightbox-style HTML dialog that shows a menu on top of a web page. It can be injected into any web page via a JavaScript bookmarklet.
One of my users is trying to use it on YouTube.com with the result that the flash movie is rendered on top of the dialog (a div with high z-index).I can't reproduce this. It works just fine for me. The dialog shows up on top of everything else on youtube.com, the video included.I had him save the page in Safari as Webarchive and send it to me. Even that shows the menu rendered correctly for me.
I use the exact same version of Safari (4.0.5/531.22.7) and Flash (10.1 r53, latest beta). Only difference I could find is that he uses Snow Leopard (10.6.6) and I "only" 10.5.8.

I've been looking all around, but all I see that seems workable involves my being able to edit the html page. I am trying to do this with AS3 and Javascript. Some solutions involve JQuery, but I am not a JQuery pro.

May 14, 2011My site was 95% point and clicked and the rest getting lucky with mostly the right AS3 after searching the various forums etc. Please be patient and type slowly that I may understand
I managed to get a youtube embedded into my AS3 Flash site. Plays well enough and in the right box. Gota figure out how to default to 480 or 720 but thats not the problem... see below.
My questions is this: is there any way to stop the video from playing all the way through to Youtubes default end screen where it has the Just Watched and Up Next screen? Either by going back to the thumbnail it uses by default or by sending it to another page on my flash site?
The last thing I want is my viewer wandering away from my site ><.

Javascript :: Script Not Allowing Lightbox To Cover Embedded Youtube Videos?
Feb 18, 2012I had problems covering videos on Youtube itself but solved that with a design change (don't need to cover them any more).
So I have a script the user can run and it calls a javascript file to do other stuff on the current webpage. One thing it does is bring up a lightbox that covers the page. Of course it won't cover embedded Youtube videos and so I need to do a few changes. I did the necessary changes and it didn't work. I kept trying and trying and eventually made a page with just an embedded video and a .jpg (my script won't run if there are no images).
I looked to see what the Pinterest script added to the embedded video portion and while it was almost identical they did have an autoplay=0 in there so I added it just so I could see for myself that it is exactly the same. If I run the Pinterest script and close it, then run mine, mine works fine. If I run mine, then the Pinterest script, then mine again, mine works. So I believe this means I'm not adding anything that tells the page "Go ahead and put the video on top anyway."

Mar 26, 2012I am using YouTube JS API to play videos on my site. Video is played on the dialog box. When user closes the dialog box, player is stopped - player.stopVideo(); But when user clicks again on video icon again, dialog box appears
In Chrome, the video starts playing at the previous position - OK Firefox, the video starts playing from the start irrespective of where user left it last time. - NOT OK
As per my requirements, I want the Chrome to behave as how firefox is behaving.

Flash :: Youtube Embedded Video Activating Too Late To Accept Javascript Call
Oct 27, 2010I have a YouTube video embedded in my page. It is hidden (display:none). You need to click one of the video link buttons to display the video and play it. The links are defined like this:

It's fundamentally pretty simple! But here's the problem. since the video player is hidden, the flash object is not activated. So when I click a video link, the line ytplayer.style.display = 'block'; displays the video player, but it takes about about half a second for flash to load. During this time it cannot accept any method calls, such as the next line ytplayer.loadVideoById( id, 0, 'hd1080' );. Essentially, I have to click the link twice, once to load up the flash video player, the second time to actually load the video into the player.

Apr 5, 2011I want to create a custom video player to modify the skin of the play controls etc but still host the videos on youtube.The youtube api allows for minor colour adjustments but not full customisation. I know it would be possible if I download the FLVs but i want the video to remain hosted on youtube.
