I have a flash movie embedded on a webpage, it's an intro of sorts, when the movie has finished it removes itself from the DOM but I also want this functionality on flash movie click.so far to remove it after it's finished playing I'm using[code]but it never gets called. I also tried adding the click event to the body and it worked everywhere but not over the top of the flash movie.

I created a function which detects if Stage.width or Stage.height has changed but this only works when I resize the window after pressing Ctrl+Enter in Flash Pro and not on the webpage.
View 4 RepliesI am making a dynamic banner system which can handle img banners, as well as flash banners done with object/embed. The entire site makes heavy use of jQuery, including handling the 'click' events.
This obviously isn't a problem when it comes to tracking the clicks on the image itself (i track the click on the parent DIV tag. However, it fails when the advert is an SWF, as I suspected it would.Is there a jQuery workaround that would allow me to capture a click on a Flash element with the DOM?
I am trying to get a Flash movie I created to stop looping in my browser AFTER loading it into Dreamweaver. Here's what I've tried:
a) Place an AS3 "Stop();" at the end of the action script for the file (in Flash CS4).
b) Publish with "Loop" in HTML tab unchecked.
c) Open the tandem created .html file in my browser (Firefox)......and the movie plays then stops as hoped
d) Open Dreamweaver CS4
e) Import the swf file into a blank HTML page and Save the file.
f) Test the document in my browser. Movie plays, but the movie continues to loop.
as mentioned above, how can I stop the movie from looping after it's embedded in my web page in Dreamweaver? Is this a Dreamweaver 'problem' rather than a Flash one? The DW help file says to use Flash to control the loop....

I use the "flashembed" feature of the jQuery tools within a site that is using scrollTo as well. The embeded swf file is my banner and right now it is running continiously. When I scroll to another hash it keeps running in the back and makes the scrolling a little bumby.

I have a modal dialog with a flash video on it and I'm using the jQuery draggable plugin to make it draggable. On Chrome, it doesn't let me play the video (when I click on the play button it does nothing, though I can drag the div around if I hold down the mouse). On Firefox, the video will play, but the mouse gets "stuck" to the div and the div follows it around. Is there some easy way to prevent dragging on the flash div?

I have hundreds of different accessories as images right now, and (similar to the game above) I need to support being able to choose more than one. So I need a solution that doesn't require me to pre-save an image of every permeation of accessory combinations on top of the princess (as that would be millions of predefined images). Ideally I would like a Javascript/jQuery or CSS solution but will take that people have. Flash suggestions would be ful as well.
So my questions are: How is the example website above lining up all of the images on top of each other? I can't seem to find any CSS or Javascript code that is doing it? Are there how to build this type of website (links, tutorials or code examples would be great)?
My flash media player is not playing automatically when my webpage loads. I have changed the settings from 0 to 1 (which should auto start the file), but still does not start the song automatically. This occurs in IE, FF, and Chrome.

This fires a modal (jQuery UI). It it working in FF, Chrome/Safari but not in IE 7/8. Is there something I'm missing here?
Big Picture: We're using a swf to render custom type and there is a link in the rendered (flash) content. We're hoping to catch the link action in the jQuery listener so we don't have to extend our swf have an optional param to return false on link click.
Is there a way I can have JavaScript/jQuery know when a Flash object has been clicked (and still have Flash process the click)?
I tried putting a table on top of the object with position: fixed and a z-index and the object set to param name='wmode' value='transparent' so I could have my JavaScript detect which column was clicked using jQuery's click(), but the clicks were never intercepted by JavaScript (Chromium Linux).

I'd been following several answers to similar problems with no luck at all, so i decided to try asking by myself:I have a page with several links that have to load data via Ajax using jquery and put the response inside a div. The main "tab" is a flash wich is inside a layer.Every time a user clicks on any of those links, flash container is resized to 0px and set visibility to hidden (trying to prevent the reload behaviour if display is set to none).
All works just fine EXCEPT the first time you click on any link that hides flash layer. In that particular case (only in Firefox) it resets the flash to initial state. I'm going nuts about this..

I'm just trying to understand a difference between IE, Chrome and Firefox. I have the following code on a page:

I then populate the page with some Flash controls (in my case, I'm using Uploadify). When I click on the Flash control, I see the alert in Firefox 4. However, I do not see the alert in IE8 or Chrome (I havent tested any other browsers).
I've been trying to do as the client requested : redirect to campaign page then to destination page once a customer clicks on the top banner in swf format.If you are using Firefox, Chrome or Safari, I suspect you can reach the destination page.However, if you are using IE or Opera, I doubt it.I think to cause of such a weird problem is:The swf ojbects don't have a link to url, SO I have to hack the theme template file like this :

View 3 RepliesI'm having issues with a YouTube video breaking a jQuery slider when viewed on an Apple mobile device. The slider uses a set width & height window that uses the overflow:hidden property. It looks great in all browsers except for Apple devices where all of the slides are visible in a row as if the overflow:hidden property did not take effect.

I am looking for a video player that can be embedded in a webpage and can play .swf files. I have tried Strobe Media Playback but it has a lot of bugs to it for .swf.
View 3 Replieswant to preload the embedded swf's as you would images using javascript or css. I have so far been unsuccessful. I am trying to avoid having the great big white patches in the site while the menu or stocklist(on the stocklist page) load, and id prefer not to have a loading bar while it does. If possible id like to have all images and swf's loaded and cached before the page is displayed so it appears seemingly instantly. Is this possible?I first attempted to do this with a standard image preloading javascript and failed. Is it at all possible to preload swf's with javascript, if not what are my options?
View 6 RepliesI created an ajax jQuery featured content slider that will automatically navigate through each tab. Each tab has some basic html. The one I used is this one: [URL]. For some reason, when I embed a flash video in it, the flash video overflows the div. It looks fine in Chrome and Safari but not the latest version of Firefox (3.6) on the PC. Is it not handling overflow or z-indexes correctly?
View 1 RepliesI have researched the infamous 'Flash hogging keyboard focus' issue, but I believe our issue may involve a workaround that someone else has already come across. I've tried the various solutions I've found on stackoverflow and other sites, which I summarize below.We have a web app, and a particular interface loads several divs that we are using as "tabs". When a user clicks one of the tabs, we hide the current div and un-hide the new one. Our main tab (which is loaded when the page loads) embeds a document from Scribd, which is loaded as a Flash movie. When a user clicks on the Flash movie, they scroll with the mouse/keyboard like normal, and when they click outside of the document control returns as expected.When they navigate to another tab and then return to the original tab and click on the embedded Flash to navigate within it, the embedded Flash steals control of the mouse scroll and won't let it go. The user can click in this document and scroll with the arrow keys and then click out of the document and scroll the parent window with the arrow keys, but mouse scrolling is still bound to the embedded Flash movie. The only remedy is a hard page refresh.[code]This doesn't work -- I can confirm that the element is removed from the DOM, but when it is returned to the DOM it hogs mouse scrolling when clicked just like before.I also tried a similar solution, but instead of removing the element I called [code]
View 1 RepliesIf I "Right Mouse Click" on a Flash SWF file embedded in a page and click "Print" it prints just the flash, in perfect colour etc etc..How can I achieve this exact operation, but as a button in Flash? So it prints just as if I did the above operation.
As an extra, if you know how - Is there any way I can default the page to print out "Landscape" too ?
