is it possible to play a movie clip (or simply, main timeline) in reverse order e.g. suppose, there is a movie clip, few frames in that, of course it will play from first frame to end frame, and also, i want them to play from end frame to first frame.

When the button on the right, mc goes forward until stop(), when the button on the left mc goes reverse until the stop(). In the first case i use gotoanplay, and everything goes fine. I'm trying to use a BarChart in Flex. I'd like it to order the bars according to the order of the ArrayCollection I fed it. i.e. data at index 0 should be the first bar on top.However, Flex is giving me the exact reverse order. i.e. data at index 0 is not the last bar in bottom. How could I tell the BarChart to reverse the order other than reversing the order of my ArrayCollection?Here's the block of code in my script tag:

I'm loading some images within a gallery but I have a trouble.. They appear backwards.. the last one on the xml is the first one shown.. I guess the problem is caused by onLoadInit.. which resizes each images and then place it on stage.. if i make a trace of "i" inside onLoadInit, always give me the last number of "i" (eg. "28"... 28 times)

I am trying to get my animation to play in reverse order and this is a pain in my leg.I have most of it figured out, this script below. I need to know if and how do I get this forward function to stop at a labled frame or key frame and not just use a number of px.
In this example I have x: "100".I need this to just play till it reaches a stop actions / lable frame or key frame. I have been trying to get this animation to play in reverse order for about a week now and I came across the TweenMax and it has a lot of good subclasses, but not much information online about the reverse subclass.

this is not CRUCIAL but I would like to be able to change it.As the notes come down the screen, they get added on top of each other since each child is added at a specific time.Is there a way I can reverse the sort order? So notes added after notes become layered behind instead of in front?

Is it possible in AS2 to remove an attached movieclip instance in reverse order? I want to give the user the ability to click an erase button and remove the most recent instance of an attached movie. I have tried .swapDepths and getting inconsistent results. Here is what I have:

Is there a way to reverse the order of the items in a comboBox? I'd like to use index numbers to refer to items in the arrayCollection below. I want the newest content to appear first in the comboBox. But, if I add something above the first item then all of the index numbers will be off by one. If I could add a new item to the end of the arrayCollection, but have it appear first in the comboBox drop down that would solve a lot of problems.

Ive got text in arabic in Word doc, written right to left (its times new roman font, arabic characters). when I copy & paste in XML, it reverses the direction, becomes left to right.

I have various movie clips within movie clips, these all work fine. Within one of the MC's, i have a button with instance name "left" and one called "right". These are used to cycle through my work (this is for my portfolio). The right button works fine, just plays the timeline of the MC using frame labels. View 1 RepliesI have a image gallery where you can click a foward button or a backwards one. I have each image on every 15th frame. So when the person clicks the next button it plays from 1-15 where it stops if they click back it will go to 15-1 etc. I got it working with the 2 images so I can go between them but when I add a third it won't do anything. I execpt it's something to do with removing the event listener, but I'm not sure.

View 5 RepliesI have a movieclip that is comprised of multiple images.These images are used as the backdrops of various different pages of my portfolio.Every image is in a specific order, so if the user decides to go from page 1 to page 4, it will pan through the first three pages quickly before stopping on the 4th page. Simple Enough.The problem is I want them to be able to also do this while manipulating the timeline in reverse. So say if they're on page 4 and want to go back to page 2, it will 'rewind' the timeline and stop on page 2.know there are plenty of tutorials out on how to play a timeline in reverse, however none of which discuss stopping automatically when reaching a certain point that is before the beginning
View 8 RepliesIn my flash movie, I've imported a very small video file. When the video is done playing, I wanted the user to be able to click a button and the video would play in reverse. I've gotten this to work with the _currentframe and _nextframe properties, but when I play the movie in reverse it's not as smooth. Here's an example of what happens: [URL] Once the movie is done playing, click on it. When it's playing in reverse, you can see it gets a little choppy when the guy gets towards the top of the rail. Has anyone found a way to play the movies backwards without having the speed affected? Maybe I shouldn't use the _currentframe property??

View 2 Repliesi am new to this site and also to AS i am trying to create a an expand and collapse functionality in which i want a movie clip to shrink and disappear when i click on a button and reappear when i click it again the solution that i came up with was i animated the movie clip shrinking and disappearing and now i think playing the timeline in reverse will solve the other half and i also added the stop script at the 1st and last frame of the movie clip.

I did a banner in flash CS3. I did 8 things and you see them one after the other one. The first time that it plays it goes on the right order but after it finished, when it normally has to start playing again, it plays in wrong order (the first then the third, the last, the second again the first, last and so on), it just does what he wants and not what I did.

View 9 RepliesI'm doing a flash movie in as3 where there are two or three swfs. What I want to do is play them in a sequential order, wherein when one finishes, the second one starts. The swfs are called movie1, movie2, etc. The best way is probably to use an array and load swfs into the 'overall' fla file that will play them. I use a variable called movieNum that keeps track of each movie. I am also using a Loader command which is just called loader. My loadSWF function works fine, but my eFrame function is flawed. I cannot find a way to recognize the end of the last frame of movie1.

I am creating an order form for my flash site. I have never done this before in flash but I have in visual basic. I have a few questions:
1. Is assigning variable names to checkboxes and radio buttons the same as in visual basic? I mean i know that you probably assign them in the properties. ex..say i name a radio button 'radio1', to run a check in my actionscript whether radio1 was checked or not would it be something like if(radio1){}
2. After the person fills out the form I would like to have the results of the order sent to a pre-specified email adress in a certain format. What would be a good way to do this?
