I looked for couple of examples It uses Xml attributes to shows as tree components' labels. But I want to show these xml text contents in tree component. But i couldn't find an example how to show as label these xml text contents.

I've got the base case working but I am stuck with 2 problems I cant seem to figure out:
Since I am drawing around the text, the actual height of each bubble is greater than that of the Text field, as a result, the last bubble is always chopped off. I have tried explicitly overriding the height getter, and adding some padding, but I cant seem to get it right. You can see an example here: [URL] In my layout, I have 2 VBoxes (one nested inside the other). The first vbox shows a form where the user can enter a comment, and the second box has all the comments. In order to ensure that the scrollbars only show up on the second box, I set minHeight="0" on the nested VBox, but then for some reason, some comments' text is shifted to the right. I get the folder icon, never the label. I've tried numerous datasources, always the same thing. File, ajax call, text, it always fails.
In the code below I even set a custom handler and watch the XML come in, I set a static text label going out. Never anything shown. This happens without the label function and using labelField. Yes, I'm 100% sure the attribute matches. Again, tried with numerous different datasources.[code]...
How to tween/add effects for the action of tree expanding/collapsing in an AdvancedDataGrid in flex.
I googled a bit, searched the livedocs, but there doesn't seem to be a concrete example for the same.
I need to make a tab navigator in flex3. If no. of tabs increases then I need to show scrollbar to navigate over the tabs. I am trying to do this using tabBar. But if no. of tab increases it puts scrollbar around the parent of tabBar and its content. Whereas i need to scroll only tabs not its content like in firefox.

The following is an array structure in php which flex understands.

I have added an event handler for itemOpening event for the tree component inside the handler basically ido myTree.selectedItem = event.item ; and then add the new data inside myTree.selectedItem.children.push(newData); But It do not show simultaneously instead I have to close , open the branch again to see the new data. I think I need to refresh something after adding new data but dont know what? below is the code but without the declaration , script tag etc

I have created a custom multiline item renderer for mx:Tree component. Important to mention that my item renderer has two UITextFields in it. Sometimes (depends of the input data) only one of UITextFields must be shown, so when second UITextField is not needed I hide it and recalculate the height of my item renderer. According to my tests height is calculated properly.The problem occures when I do scroll of my tree. The error text is:

I have created a custom item renderer for the tree, i have added some children in create children function, my problem is that sometimes i need to show these children and sometimes i don't, depending on clicking on a button which also i have added at create children, the problem is that i had to create the item even if i don't want it to be visible, and removed it by making visible false, and this costs a lot of memory, i have tried to create it at buttons click listener but when scrolling the child disappears, and it may appear again if i keep scrolling up and down.. i am trying to add the child just when i need it to be visible, is this possible or i have to create it on child creation method?

I've got a tree component on the stage that the user can add folders and questions to. I need to write the data from the tree into a database as the user adds items and then re-build the tree from the database when the user re-opens the program. This works fine except the client wants the user to be able to delete and move items within the tree.
I'm not sure how I can track the position of items within the tree so that it re-builds the tree (from the database values) in the same order as it was when the user closed the program?
At first, I thought I would just add the getDisplayIndex of the selectedNode, but that changes when you expand or collapse a folder, and it would also mean that I would have to update a number in each database entry any time the user moves a folder or item...
I'm thinking the only way I can get around this and ensure the db tracks the latest treeview is to provide a "Save" button and make the user hit that (instead of hitting the "Accept Changes" button which currently exists for each item & folder and just updates the database on each new entry). With the "Save" button, I could just copy a new database on top of the old one (removing all the unique id indexes) and then write to the new db. Not the end of the world, but it seems more ponderous and less intuitive. Plus, if the user enters hundreds of items, it could take time to write the entire db each time...
I have an accordion component that contains 3 list components and 2 tree components...there are all the components from the flash library of components...and I need to print the contents of these 5 "lists"For now I'm concentrating on the lists...then I will worry about how to print the trees with all the nodes expanded...but I can't seem to figure out how to determine how many items are in a list.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to make a Flex Tree Component display the children of a sprite in a hierarchical way. Moreover, dragging the items on the FlexTree would resort and reparent the items. I have special Elements set as Folders. This would allow other elements to be added there as a children by dragging an element on the tree and dropping it there. I have a failed attempt which works, but breaks when I try to add folders. Basically, it fails at reparenting the items by dragging and resorting folders and that Does anyone know of a component or something which can do this, has anyone have created any of this or could anyone give me a clue?

I am managing the features of minimizing, maximizing, close, resize and all other functions from within the application. I am facing a problem with resize feature. I have defined the grips for resizing and also I am able to display my custom cursor when mouse moves over it. The problem is that only the part of this cursor is visible which lies inside the boundary of the application rest of the cursor image is hidden.For implementing the custom cursor, I do the following.Embed the cursor image.

So I created a skin called myPanelSkin based upon the Spark.PanelSkin. My background color works fine but it will no longer show the cornerRadius defined either on the component or in a styleI then tried another approach and simply created a new skin as an exact copy of the Spark.PanelSkin. It also looses the cornerRadius.

The application should load the flashlog file and display the contents after performing some text filtering.But when i load the application this clears my flashlog.txt though my file mode is READ.I can understand that running my air application clears the flashlog and prepares it for new logging. Is there a workaround for this.I dont want to open the flashlog file everytime and check for traces from my web application
View 1 RepliesI've spend hours searching for a way to put one paragraph of text in one tree node in Adobe flex. How can I do it? I created a simple tree view but the text is cut after the right border.
So I tried to create a tree renderer. In the renderer I specified width=100 and the text wrapped. But the height of the nodes was not being calculated properly, so the text over consecutive nodes overlapped and got messed.
So how do i do wrapped text in a tree node?
I have a block of html text which is displayed to the user in a TextArea. Currently, the I have embedded the HTML as an XML object within one of my classes, but this seems like a terrible design. I would like to put the HTML in an embedded file and load it into an XML or String object.
I've tried to search for how to do this, but my searches return information on embedding images and fonts, not text which can be loaded into Strings.
Is it possible to embedded text or xml files and load them into variables in Flex?

There is no nested components displayed when I run my app.
The debugger shows they are created and visible.
To my "amusement" the components are shown when I replace s:TitleWindow with mx:TitleWindow.
I really want to use spark TitleWindow.
Is it possible to control contents over divs and show/hide with flash as2?
