May 9, 2011I have made menu bar. I have taken 4 options on it.Now when i click on one option from menu bar then i want to show chart. How to achieve it?

Mar 31, 2011I'm trying to show some data that's integers but the BarChart is using fractional values on the axis which makes no sense in this scenario. Is there any way to force the chart to only use integer values on the axis? I don't know the range so it could be anything from 1 to 10000000, so I can't just explicitly set up everything.

Jul 26, 2011I am stuck with a requirement to display a horizontal line on a ColumnChart to indicate a threshold level. I have the data to the Chart as an ArrayCollection.
Is it possible to get the location of a value that is shown on the y axis? I think I will be able to place a line or 1px high canvas on top of the Chart to achieve this. Or better, is there any built in functionality that i may have overlooked or is there some open library that can achieve something like this?
Flex :: Show / Hide Datatips On A Chart With A Secondary Series
Feb 13, 2011I have a line chart with a column chart as a secondary series. When I roll over the line, the datatips appear. However, if I move the mouse to a spot where a column appears while still on the line, the data tip item appears for the line AND the column. How do I get it so that I only show datatips for the line but not the column?

Mar 8, 2011I need a small help on Flex Line Chart. I am using FlashBuilder 4 and doing a simple application in flex. I am displaying a graph with 10 random values and based on the values i am trying to change the itemrenderer values like CandlestickItemRenderer and BoxItemRenderer. Now my requirement was, if the values are > 10 i want to show my chart with CandlestickItemRenderer else i want to show the remaining spots as BoxItemRenderer. I am failing to do this. Either i am getting all the shapes as BoxItemRenderer or CandlestickItemRenderer. i am sending the code as a text file along with this.

Mar 3, 2011I'm trying to prevent a default chart item roll over highlight in a Spark column chart.If you look at any of the chart examples on this page , when you roll over any of the chart series items, they turn a darkened shade of their original colour. This is what I want to prevent.
So far I have had no luck with using the itemRollOverColor property, as this only allows you to set it to one specific colour for the whole chart (my app has several different coloured series on the chart at once). Also, trying to leverage the itemRollOver event (with preventDefault() etc) hasn't worked either.

Sep 28, 2011In order to make something work correctly, I need to simulate the user clicking on an image which doubles as a button and calls yet another function. I've tried simply calling the function, but it didn't work... for some reason, it only seems to work when the user clicks the button. Is it possible to 1) simulate clicks and 2) make the application think that the user clicks on a specific image?
Full story - My application (a scheduling application) allows the user to replace one student with another. In order to do this, the user can bring up a list of available students. Once the list is presented, and the user selects a new students name, that new name is supposed to replace the old name. Instead, the text box simply goes blank. Now, if I click a image (which acts like a button) that increases the length of a that scheduled activity by one day, the name appears for whatever reason. I've tried simply calling the function that increases the number of days, but it doesn't work. For some reason, it would appear that only the user clicking the image (button) seems to make the new user name show up in the text box. This is why I would like to simulate the user clicking the "increase by 1 day" image.
Flex :: Keeping Focus On A Textbox When Clicking A Button
May 31, 2011I have a series of editable text areas in which I want to be able to add a variable on the click of a button.
If I click the button the textarea loses focus and so I cant code which textarea I need to add the variable into. Can anyone think of a way of keeping focus on the textbox, inserting the variable and then allowing the user to carry on typing.
I've been playing around with the setFocus function trying to get this to work with no success.

Dec 19, 2011I need to create an application in which we are changing the style of the application that is theme of the application based on the button click.
I have download the theme that all contains different CSS file. I need to dynamically declare the CSS for the application to apply that theme. I have file name Theme1.css, Theme2.css, Theme3.css, Theme4.css, Theme5.css.
when I click on the Theme 1 Button then I need to apply Theme1.css file as source of style. similar like that when I click on the Theme 2 Button then I need to apply Theme2.css file as source of style. Note : css file contains Style for both application and component of the Application.

I've got a Flex 3 site. When the user clicks one of the buttons on my site, a panel opens and text appears. As the text is not immediately visible, will Google index the content in the panel? (I'm not cloaking or anything weird. It's just the normal functioning of the site).

May 18, 2011I am using actionscript 3 to make a point and click game. On frame 1 there are two buttons, button 1 and 2. On frame 3 there are two buttons, button A and B. I want it so that after I click button 1 on frame 1, button A on frame 3 will be hidden or when I click button 2 on frame 1, button B on frame 3 will be hidden. The buttons that are hidden do not do anything when you click them.

Flex - Options To Create Line Chart In Flex For Data-intensive Web App?
Jan 13, 2012My group is working on a Flex/AS3 scientific web application that is data intensive. Luckily the only plots involved are line charts. However, each line chart may have multiple traces (up to 24), and each trace may contain up to 2000 points. The user will need to zoom in and out and interact with the data (e.g. data tips, etc.).
The response I'm getting from developers is that's a lot of data to render in a plot in Flash. For reasons beyond the scope of this post, we can't sample the data to reduce the size (this has already been done and nature of the data prevents further sampling).
Rendering speed is critical for this app. What kind of rendering speed should I expect the Flex 4 line chart component to provide for a given number of points (e.g. 1 second to render 1000 points?)
Are there products available that handle plotting large data sets better, which can be incorporated in Flex (I've seen FusionCharts and ZingCharts online but have no idea how they compare with Flex's components)? Of those, which are easy to develop with while still providing a lot of flexibility in look and feel?

You can hover over any of the bar graph examples on this page for a demonstration. I have a graph situation where I optionally draw in some dots as reference points on CartesianDataCanvases supplied to my AreaChart through it's <mx:annotationElements> and <mx:backgroundElements> tags.
I would like to have the same hover data-tip functionality that the AreaChart has, but applied to these dots. I realize that I am just drawing on canvas, and that no actual dataProvider supports these dots, but if there was a way to supply the CartesianDataCanvas with an array of data values or something to that effect,
