ActionScript 3.0 :: Stacked Bar Chart To Show Interleaved Sections
Jun 24, 2010
Is there a way with a stacked bar chart to show interleaved sections so each row in the data set could be represented by a separate section of the stacked bar, instead of the chart summing up all the data and combining like data into a single section?
I'm making a chart where the x-axis needs to have dates and y-axis names. The lenght of the bar is longer when the date is later. But I want to stack multiple bars on eachother. for example This is the code I have so far
I found this seamingly usefull mini tutorial on Actionscripts.org on how to use the FLASHVARS value in the 'HTML' to controll which part of the Flash movie is shown. But I can't get it to work, the AS gives loads of errors in Flash. The value is set, as I have got a textbox showing it the values. here is the AS I did as an experement,It's just supposed to move the playhead to a different named frame depending which page loads the Flash.the FlashVars value in the html pages is page=one and page=two.
Code: var siteManager:siteManager = new SiteManager(this, _root.page); class SiteManager { private var _tl:MovieClip;[code].....
I am trying to create a nav system that expands to show sub-sections when the user rolls over main section buttons.Let me describe exactly (as best I can) how this would work:A vertical list of 5 menu buttons is stacked and distributed at equal distances. The user clicks a button (lets say Button 2) and Buttons 3, 4, 5 slide down to reveal the sub-nav below Button 2. When the user clicks or rolls back to any of the original 5 buttons, that subnav closes up.Does anyone know of a good tutorial for this type of nav or have anything I might be able to dissect and work from?
I have a chart with 2 line series in it.So, "Jan" (x-axis point) will have 2 Y-axis pointsThe problem :Is there anyway to force flex to show tooltip on both series simultaneously?
I'm trying to show some data that's integers but the BarChart is using fractional values on the axis which makes no sense in this scenario. Is there any way to force the chart to only use integer values on the axis? I don't know the range so it could be anything from 1 to 10000000, so I can't just explicitly set up everything.
I am taking data from SAP and displaying in column chart in a dashboard. I am using an ArrayCollection as data provider. This has 27 columns(fields). So i am using 27 columns charts. However, I also have to display the summary of these in two charts.i.e. sum of 14 columns in one chart and 13 columns into other.
I am stuck with a requirement to display a horizontal line on a ColumnChart to indicate a threshold level. I have the data to the Chart as an ArrayCollection.
Is it possible to get the location of a value that is shown on the y axis? I think I will be able to place a line or 1px high canvas on top of the Chart to achieve this. Or better, is there any built in functionality that i may have overlooked or is there some open library that can achieve something like this?
I have a line chart with a column chart as a secondary series. When I roll over the line, the datatips appear. However, if I move the mouse to a spot where a column appears while still on the line, the data tip item appears for the line AND the column. How do I get it so that I only show datatips for the line but not the column?
I need a small help on Flex Line Chart. I am using FlashBuilder 4 and doing a simple application in flex. I am displaying a graph with 10 random values and based on the values i am trying to change the itemrenderer values like CandlestickItemRenderer and BoxItemRenderer. Now my requirement was, if the values are > 10 i want to show my chart with CandlestickItemRenderer else i want to show the remaining spots as BoxItemRenderer. I am failing to do this. Either i am getting all the shapes as BoxItemRenderer or CandlestickItemRenderer. i am sending the code as a text file along with this.
I'm trying to prevent a default chart item roll over highlight in a Spark column chart. If you look at any of the chart examples on this page , when you roll over any of the chart series items, they turn a darkened shade of their original colour. This is what I want to prevent.
So far I have had no luck with using the itemRollOverColor property, as this only allows you to set it to one specific colour for the whole chart (my app has several different coloured series on the chart at once). Also, trying to leverage the itemRollOver event (with preventDefault() etc) hasn't worked either.
How can I Create an animated Bar Chart or Line Chart type of component in flash programmatically, which should depends upon an incoming XML data, the chart should have the basic criteria like, Chart Label, Item Tooltips, background grids (without using any image). There also needs an ability to change the data which should reflect the chart as well.
I'm trying to make chart which is combination of bar and line chart using Flex Charting API . Here x axis would be common and y axis would be different. note that y axis got different range of value one is % and other is amount. Any one got idea how to make this chart. Here line chart would be staked on top of bar chart . The line chart and never over laid or drawn on top of bar chart.
The tutorials on the site are fantastic kudos to the developers of the site and the tutorials. On Creating 3D Carousels would anyone know a way to stack the rings? Also additional images to be called in each new ring via the XML file.
I have a button over the top of an image that performs an action upon rollover. I placed an arrow button over the top of this button to allow the user to scroll through the images, but when I rollover the arrow button it cancels out the rollover underneath it. What I need is for the first rollover action to remain while the user hovers over the arrow. I am using Flash 8, ActionScript 2.
I have a four groups of images which are stacked one above the other. the images which are under the top image won't be seen.I need to drag an image which is on top and drop it on target movieclips(10)I need to validate each target movielcips will contain max 3 images which should be from different groups. No two same groups's images should bedropped on any target, doing so it will go to it's original position.I am facing a problem handling depths of the images/movieclips. Whenever I try to drag an image(placed at the top) the bottom-most image gets dragged. I don't know why is it happening
i'm trying to develop a simple isometric flash game using AS3, but i have run into a small problem.
let's say i create a new movieclip (let's call it "ground") for the terrain base hexes (the ones that the character stands on) and populate that with more movieclip objects that represent each of the squares.since i want the game to be mouse-based, i want these hexes/movieclips to be clickable.
now, i will create a new movieclip (let's call it "objects") on top of the previous one that holds all the objects in a given map + your character and all the monsters. i want to do this, because then i can arrange the order (the z-depth) of the sprites according to their position on the map using swapChildren, etc (so that if your character is in a row in front of a tree, he is displayed on top, but if in a row behind the tree, he is displayed behind)
since the trees (or whatever other objects) can have clickable hexes behind them, i don't want them to get in the way of the mouse being able to detect the hexes themselves. the easiest way would be to make them mouseEnabled = false. but that would mean that i also have to make the whole "objects" clip mouseEnabled = false. at the same time if there are monsters inside the same "objects" movieclip i would want them to be clickable (for example to attack them), which means i cannot make "objects" mousEnabled = false.
hence my question. you can only change the depths of movieclips using swapChildren if they are in the same parent container, but you cannot make only part of that container's child movieclips invisible to the mouse. am i understanding something wrong and there is a different way to do this, or is this an actual and un-overcomeable limitation of AS3?
I want a xml gallery with all the pictures visible and stacked on top eachother. And i also want to make every picture buttons s you can click on a picture and go to the html page with a big picture. is this possible and can someone help me with the code?
I am using the charting components of Flex to build dynamic charts in Action Script. I'm struggling to get a stacked column set working within a cartesian chart. The chart object and horizontal axis are defined statically within mxml code, and the column set, column series, vertical axis, and other vertical axes, axis renderers, and line/plot series components are all defined dynamically in actionscript.
When I specify my ColumnSet object's type attribute to 'stacked' it renders all the column series data as overlaid instead of stacked. I can specify 'clusterd' dynamically (leaving everything else the same) and it will re-render correctly as clustered, but I've tried several different 'workarounds' to try and force stacked to occur without any luck. The same structure works fine to stack if everything is defined statically in mxml instead of being built dynamically.
why dynamic construction would act differently than statically defining the chart's series elements, and only when 'stacked' is the column set's type? Is there some magic function call I need to make to get them to stack?
I have some movie clips turned buttons (by way of mc.buttonMode = true and friends) that scroll by an invisible button area, and when they are 'under' that area, none of their mouse events work. How can I still catch their mouse events in addition to the MOUSE_OVER of the invisible button on top?
right now i'm just trying to trace each image name and it's height through the for loop, but what i would like to do is stack each image, 1 following the other.
when i run the trace, the output repeats just the last images name and image height. There is something wrong in my loop, right? Also i should mention that each image has a different height dimension.
i am making a flash demo and have a bunch of different sections / categories that the movie will need to navigate to. I created a similar demo previously and used different "scenes" to keep track and organize the different categories. Should i keep using scenes to navigate to or is there a better, more professional way to do my movie? Also, where could i find more information on properly organizing and setting up my flash files? ie: naming conventions, etc.
I believe in CS3 it was possible to place a bitmap at a keyframe, then create a later keyframe, and break that bitmap up and move the sections. Then, create a motion tween to animate the peices flying apart (or back together). In CS4, this doesn't seem possible--anything I do combines the broken up bitmap into a single entitiy, rendering any tweening useless. Both Motion and Classic tweening seem incapable of such a simple task. (Shape tweening animates the peices, of course, but loses their individual shapes in the process, resulting in a mess).take a bitmap photo or a drawn rectangle or oval, and using tweening to animate it breaking apart?
i am trying to make a preloaded that stops on frames depending on how much is loaded, i want it to stay on frame 1 if 24% or less of the movies is loaded and for every 25% i want it to it to move forward a frame,so far i have done thus,
var bytes = _root.getBytesTotal(); var bytes_loaded = _root.getBytesLoaded(); if (bytes / bytes_loaded >= .25) { _root.gotoAndPlay(2); } else { _root.gottoAndStop(1); }
The site has 6 pages: home, contents, contact, about, showreel, corporate. I have a panoramic photograph as a background across all my pages. When a button, such as contact, is clicked the timeline is enabled and scrolls across the panoramic to the 'contact' area of the photograph.I have a few questions relating to how I can achieve this. 1.) On my actions layer I have this code on frame one: stop(); enter_site_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonCLicked); function buttonClicked (event:MouseEvent):void { play(); } So when you mouseClick the timeline plays and goes to the next stop point on the timeline which is the contents section. On the contents page are the buttons which lead to the other sections. So far I have this code: stop(); about.btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK,buttonCLicked) corporate.btn.addEventListener
Each of the buttons work, but I want the timeline to play and go to the page which corresponds to the button which is clicked, not just to play the timeline until the next stop point. Is there a code which would enable the timeline to play and go to the correct section, and not just roll without a target? 2.) I also want to be able to write a code which enables the timeline to move to any section in the same amount of time. What I mean by this is that if it takes 2 seconds (48 frames) to go from the first section to the second section, I also want it to take 2 seconds to go from the second section to the sixth section (240 frames)
