The text wont populate to Hello. But if I put this on a button click to change the text it works. Not sure what the issue is.I have even tried creating an empty clip into which to load the swf into despite the feedbackHolder_mc being empty.
I made a XML list on my main timeline. Is it possible to make these list like links and when I press each of the buttons, it will load a swf to the desired container area?
I have two swfs. swf-1 is the user display. it calls loadmovie swf-2 - loadMovie([URL]); swf-2 has webservice that returns data to be displayed in swf-1 Everything works fine if I have swf-1 and swf-2 on the same [URL]. If swf-1 is on [URL] and swf-2 is on [URL] the dynamic text is not being displayed in swf1. I have the fonts embeded in the dynamic text field. The mc's that hold the dynamic text are being created (have a graphic that is visible), just not seeing the text.
I've a problem working on a project involving multiple language changes using the loadMovie function. Here's the setup: The project involves several pages, all of which are separate swfs. These are located on an existing website, so everything's already created (I'm just updating). On the pages are Static text fields. My task is to incorporate language buttons that when clicked, change the language. For example, the language buttons are English, German, Italian, French, Spanish. If I clicked the Italian button, all text fields change to Italian - and remain so until I click another button. The default language is English.
I changed the Static text fields to Dynamic text fields, gave each an instance name, and placed variables for each instance in a separate language swf (example: langEnglish.swf, langGerman.swf, langItalian.swf). The default language file - langEnglish.swf - is loaded in the first frame using the loadMovie function. When a language button is clicked, it loads a new language swf (they load into an empty movieclip, btw). Clicking the button also updates a variable called "language", so as to remember the current language. The ActionScript for the various variables in the language swfs looks like this:
I created a third party text movie on flash typer, the text is white and the background is black, I loaded the movie on my flash mx and it seems to work except the background is always white, so my text does'nt show up?
I want to make some buttons and use the buttons.fla library. The button is inserted and given an instance name. A second button is inserted (same kind) and given a new instance name. But when I am trying to change the label text in one of my buttons the text is changing on the other button as well. I believed they where separate instances?
I have a code that creates 10 dynamic text fields, along the "y" axis, based on a loop.
What I want to happen is, for each text field that is created, i want the numbers to constantly change based on a timer (they'll all change at the same time, but to random numbers).
Right now, the code below changes the numbers, but keeps stacking the new numbers on top of the old...

I'm trying to get the letters in a word (each letter is an individual text object) to cycle through three different colors when clicked. Right now, all they do is change from their original color, blue, to black when clicked. No further "cycling" occurs. I'm appending the code. The part of interest is (probably?) in what is presently (and inaccurately) the "traceTextEvent()" function/method. It starts around line 90 of the code.
Is it possible to change the text property of a text field that is contained within a sprite? I've been trying but can't come up with the right syntax. Here is what I'm doing:

I have a textfield that is dynamicly created which contains some text and has a textformat applied to it, which works fine, and I have my happy little text field.

I just started playing with scripting and here is a question i got. I got 1 button.A movie with containts 3 graphics , graph1 , graph2 , graph3 Each graphic contains a Dynamic Text field. The var of that field within graph1 = text1, graph2 = text2 etc. On release should put the text "test" in each of the textfields and should play the whole movie wich contains the graphics with textfields. this is the code i made

Sorry) Funny behaviour...I'm trying to load an external MC containing dynamic text (MC-Clip.swf) to a MC empty holder (MCimport) within my main/parent movie. This piece of AS is attached to a button (to call the dyn. txt clip):

With this, the dynamic text gets loaded indeed... but Fullscreen into the parent movie, and not into MCimport (where it should be). Now... I don't understand why, but the thing is that if MC-Clip.swf contains just static text (and change accordingly the text properties to static text in the holder MC), it gets loaded in the right place (MCimport) within the main/parent movie. (?!??!) And this is the piece of AS attached to the button (to call the MC containing the static txt):
im trying to load an swf into another swf that has a variable in the text input field. Im a designer and not a programmer but I am using this tutorial to get started in loading a form with a variables in it.[URL]..
What im doing is trying to duplicate is the text box so that when i want to load new_box.swf (with a variable name "company") into main.swf into a movieclip with an instant name "loader." using this:

I can get the movie to load but it loses the variable "company" in the process and when i send the form it doesnt work. If i just keep it in the main timeline it works but not when i loadMovie.
I'm trying to put a text in a dynamic text box. The text element, however, is placed dynamically:

Placing the text element isn't the problem, but I cannot seem to change the text in the element. As you can see, I tried placing the text before and after putting the text element on the stage. Both didn't work. The text element is creating from scratch by adding text with the Text Tool. It's single line dynamic text, Arial regular and the text characters have been embedded. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem, because I'm completely stuck.

I've got a flash template, and was just messing around to see how tough it is to work with. Anyways, I changed some text, saved it, exported, and in the SWF, it did not change, it stayed as what it used to say.
I then changed some other text to see if the same thing would happen, and it did. I also added in a text field to see if it would appear, and it did.

I am having a nightmare getting text to display as the font and size I select?I select text tool, I click on MC and start typing, it displays correcly in edit mode.I change the size of the text box (not via transform) and move the text box to where I want the text to display.However, when the application is published the font is showing as though it has been bolded or made a different size.It is not the font size and format I created it in.I have ensured I have no "anti-alias Bitmap" selected, but it's behaving as though it has "animation anti-alias" applied?

i've created a mc and inside that i have a dynamic text field, named 'inside'. Iside the mc i've created three key frames, first frame is untouched, second frame, i've changed the color of my text to red, and in the third i've changed the color to yellow. Now i have i awful blinking mc.I'm trying to change the text of my text field. This doesn't work.Whatever the initial value of the variable "Staff_Copy_Value" is will determine the text in the field.So if I use the value 0 as in the above, whatever is in the textfield on the stage shows.If I use 1,2,3, or 4 then the text strings in the defined variables shows up.What am I missing.I am assuming it is has to do with the onEnterFrame command.How do I make the movie keep checking the value of "Staff_Copy_Value"?
