ActionScript 3.0 :: Rollovers And Click Events Not Working Together?
Apr 19, 2011I have a button that I want to have trigger a rollover effect when rolled over, and when clicked trigger something. I am changing the background image of the whole Flash movie. On Rollover I want it to give you a preview, and on click, I want it to goto a frame in a movieClip where that image is. Here is a pic of my timeline:For instance. I want my first button, "button1" (which is outside of this movieClip on the main timeline) to do the following:When rolled over, it needs to go to the "btn_over" frame label When Rolled out to go to the "btn_out" frame label.And when Clicked to go to frame 2.Currently My button is a movieClip symbol, because I will be doing some simple animations to it. Here is the code I have on my first button: This makes the click work. (and it does work, just not when paired with the second function for the rollover)[code]Does anyone know why the second function is overpowering the first? Mar 16, 2011I had created an application where the user can click on map and a marker will be created and it stores x y values and stored in database and user can also drag the marker and place it to appropriate position and after the user drag and drop the marker we have a confirm button to send the x y values to database. Sep 30, 2009 I have 7 images, 6 of which are hidden, and they're all stacked on top of one another. The Goal is to click the top one, make it disappear, and make the one below it appear. the subordinate layers need to be invisible so that the glow doesn't interrupt the glow above. Im not certain, but the imported images were converted to symbols as a Movie Clip, not a button, but i don't know if a button would still be able to maintain a layer filter...

Feb 18, 2010I have a RSS feed parsed into one text box and am using imported CSS to format the text in one Textfield that was created with as3.Problem is my roll over and click handler functions for making each text variable a link to the XML URL link will not work unless I point the function at the entire text field. I just want the individual text variables made from the RSS Title nodes, to be set to react to my handleFHTClicked, rollOutHandler and ollOverHandler functions. The movie runs Ok parsing the nodes and picking up the CSS, but I get this error in the output window when it reaches the aformentioned functions..

The only problem is that when I run my movie, it won't accept any keyboard event until I click once anywhere on my movie. Actionscript 3 :: Button Stops Working After Random Amount Of Click
Oct 29, 2010I have a movieclip being used as a button. After a random amount of clicks the button stops working. In other words, the mouse will become a hand when hovering over the button but no clicks are registering to fire the function. The thing is, if I scroll the list, and click on an item, it does not trace 'arthur' ! Why is this so ? I must trace that all the time that someone clicks in the list!
EDIT: If I remove change="model.selectSet( productSetList )" in the list, it works!! but I cannot remove that, some suggestions ? How can I switch that to another function?
ActionScript 3.0 :: MouseEvent.CLICK Not Working But Using MOUSE_OVER Makes Function Work?
Aug 27, 2009The main AS timeline creates the enemy instance and calls them via the timer class. Inside the instance enemy movie clip there is some script to do a basic tween and there are functions to remove the enemy and to declare you've hit the enemy. The problem I'm having is when I try to call my KillEnemy function with a MouseEvent.CLICK (or MOUSE_DOWN, MOUSE_UP) event, it isn't registering, I realised this after testing the same function to listen for a MOUSE_OVER, MOUSE_OUT, it worked perfectly.
Can anyone explain why this is happening? Not just that the mouse seems to be a little delicate, even with the roll over listener called it isn't registering the event unless it hits a specific part of the movie clip enemy, which leads me to believe the movieclip is somehow built incorrectly? But even when testing the game with extreme settings (i.e. leaving the enemies on screen for a long time) the mouse clicks aren't registering still. Something is broken! ActionScript 3 :: Anonymous Function As Click Handler Is Called Multiple Times Per Click
Aug 16, 2010I have a button labeled 'blueButton' and I'd like to use an anonymous function to handle the click, like so:

Problem is, the click handler is called multiple times per click. The number of times called seems to be random (sometimes 2, sometimes 4, sometimes 3 etc). could I be missing something in my code, or maybe I set up the button wrong?
also I noticed that it seems to always get called once on the first click. After the first click is when it starts getting called additional times, maybe that has something to do with it?

Actionscript 3.0 :: If Function - When Click On The Button Takes To Another Page Without Showing The Click Animation
Sep 11, 2010I created a movieclip animation that only activates when i rollover the movieclip button. I further extended the frames and created another frame animation that i active only when user clicks the button. So i have a roll over/out animation and click animation in the same movieclip in the same layer. Now the problem is that when i click on the button, its supposed to take me to another page, and it does, unfortunately without the click animation. That means after i click on the button its supposed to first finish the click animation and then go to another page. But when i click, it takes me to another page without showing the click animation
SO I tried the If function, but i seem to make a mistake somewhere and i dont know what to do. Now there is no error in script, but onw there is a problem in link, the button finishes the click animation but it does not go to the tarrgeted"about" frame. here's the code
