Feb 25, 2012I installed Adobe Flash CS5.5 a couple of days back...Trying to learn a few basic tricks such as motion tween (messed up things with the bone tool though)..Well the problem is, a friend of mine made a 3D drawing in Solid Works(a modelling software). It is a sort of box, now he wants me to make a flash animation for the box which starts from a sheet of paper and folds into a box and then the camera zooms out.
Now i have no idea how to do that..jpg file can be made and imported to flash...but as it will be an imported file how can it be manipulated to achieve the final task....taking screen shots of the box at various stages of solid works can be done and then played all together in flash baut it would be very tiresome and time consuming...
I dont want anyone to make it for me just guide me what tools and tutorials to look at.
Professional :: If You Create An Animation Can You Loop The Last Frames Of That Animation If A Button Is Held Down?
Dec 6, 2011ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

May 8, 2007I've got this script, as it works now the text is loaded with XML.
It animates across screen, but not quite as i wish. If you download the script: www.playart.dk/scroller.rar -> you will see the text removes itself before another text from the XML is loaded in the flash...
The way i would like it to work where it all comes in at the same line, so you can see 2 captions(nodes, text) at a time in one line...

IDE :: PrintAsBitmap That Doesn't Scale To Fit Paper?
Aug 5, 2009I have looked at the help files and tried all 3 possible parameters, bframe, bmovie and bmax.
The only thing I want to print is a JPG I am loading into an empty mc and I don't want it to scale to fit the paper. Looks bad and wastes ink.
If the mc is empty, I guess it has no bounding box parameters.

Aug 7, 2009I have Flash CS4 and I'm developing an RPG game. My goal is to dynamically change the weapon/armor the main hero has on according to what the player has on. I think the term is paper dolling. Basically I want to be able to set a point in which a graphic (movie clip/w.e) can be place permanently and I can load images to it via actionscript 3. I want the point to stay on the hero becuase I plan to move him and animate him and I want to be able to have it so that all it takes is me loading an image to the hero so it will basically "mask" over him. Hope you guys understand what I'm saying, I'm having a hard time figuring this out.

I use PrintJob class for printing the movieclip. According to the ActionScript online API spec [URL], I can only READ the paper size setting after the call to PrintJob.start. I can't believe that we are not allowed to change the setting.

Dec 14, 2011In AS3, changing the childIndex of one movieclip ( say from a list of 10 movieclips), may change the childIndex of some another movieclip ( Flash probably does it to prevent outOfIndex error ) It sometimes become a headache to manage and code them, as movieclips show above each other in an unexpected manner.Is their any inbuilt way to make movieclip stick with a particular childIndex ? ( In AS2 there were depths that kept constant from 0-9999. And it was a real breeze as compared to AS3.0)

Feb 27, 2009Not sure how many remember what flash paper was, but it was a program that converted PDFs into a flash application.So I am building it in AS3 (not the conversion process, but the viewer).My question has to do with the zoom feature, well I guess the previous/next buttons as well.The way the previous and next buttons work is they reference an array of Y values of where the next page is. The array looks like this:
0,800,1600,2400,3200....etc
This works fine, however, when I go to zoom those values are not accurate anymore more.
Whenever you Zoom up I up the scale by += 0.1
Whenever you Zoom down I down the scale by -= 0.1
In that process I need to update the Y Value array to match the new height of all the combined pages. How could I do that?

Mar 9, 2009I'm in a class in which I have to create a web app with animation, etc. The animation part I got after some sweat. I managed to create some buttons with the graphics for the 4 states. When I try to use those button is where I start getting lost. I've reference 3 or 4 books, lynda.com videos, etc. I can follow the code when I see it, but I have no idea what to do. Some seem to set the stop and start in the button, some in a layer with AS3 -
What I have is a background layer with static graphics, another layer with the animation, also static in that the picture changes BOOM each time, no tweening. There's a layer with audio that is lines up with the animation. I can get the audio and animation to play together. I just can't get them both to stop and start when I hit any buttons.
Way To Create Smooth Animation
May 28, 2009All I want to happen is some text (6 words) animate in from the right hand side and slow to a stop in the centre of the banner. Simple.
The problem im having is the when the text animates on it tends to stutter and appear jerky whereas I need it to be very smooth.
Ive tried animating the text using basic frame tweening with easing and with various high frame rates.Ive tried various coding methods using tweening classes (both the inherit class within flash and imported 3rd party classes) which seem to improve the animation slightly but still with some random jerkiness.[code]...

I have a basic flash animation, which constists of 12 images horizontally scrolling across the movie stage.It is animated to scroll from right to left at a speed of 1. I would like to update all those images once a month and so I'm looking for a way to do it using xml. Has someone done this before? It will make it a lot easier to update, rather than have to manually swap out pictures in the flash file.

Jun 16, 2011I want to create a simple animation of a game so you can see the playout of a game. It should be an animation in which you just see the game Tic-Tac-Toe played. I have the states of the games in a description. So player 1 marks a cell = state 1; player 2 marks a cell = state 2 etc.. I currently have the game parsed in a ruby program; it will be easy to display just one state (like in the image), but how do I create an animation from it? Is there an easy way to do this? I'm open to solutions in every language but it shouldn't take to much time to implement. I want to show such an animation in a presentation.
