ActionScript 2.0 :: Centering Images In A MovieClip?

I got this far with my images display. I found code and it was able to work, but I'm not savvy enough with the code to unload images.I have 'searched' thru kirupa to see if someone had something similar. Found other 'centering images' type .fla's, but can't connect them to mine.I don't want to change the navigation or the way I have it set up -- I need it scripted frame-by-frame as it is. I was hoping someone knows how to get the images to 'unload' as you press each button.

I have downloaded this slideshow but cannot for the life of me figure out how to center the images. The slideshow calls the images from an XML.I have edited the width of the slide show just fine but the images are still justified to the left.

I am using ActionScript 3 in Flash to load images into a UILoader. There is a bay of thumbnail images, which are all movie clips. When one of these movie clips is clicked, AS3 calls a larger image to display in the UILoader. All of these images are narrower than the UILoader, some very much so, and they all have different widths for the most part.I would very much like for these images to be centered within the UILoader and (obviously) am unsure of how to go about doing it. If it would be possible for them to be both horizontally and vertically centered, that would be ideal, as they are also of varying heights.

ive just butchered myself a gallery together which loads different xml documents (with image references in them) into an empty movie clip on the main stage-however- the images are all different sizes, and I cant seem to modify the script so that they will center correctly- i know I need to preload them in order to get the correct size for each image and then reload and display so that the x and y coordinates are correct-im using this script from kirupa's xml gallery tutorial- each different section of the gallery has this script attatched to the button that displays it-but im really stuck as to where to add a loop to ***** the images.- my brain hurtsI

I would like to call up images from myXML and I would like to center them on the stage. Each object is a different size therefore I can't place them to a set _x position. Hopefully someone may have the answer.... here's the function that will call up the firstimage:

The highlighted '480' is the number i would like to replace to center. I'm not being to vague with this request, otherwise i'll offer more information.

I only recently switched to AS3 from 2 and I'm sure there are concepts. When I load a grid of images and scale and center them, why does this work locally but not when I upload it to a server? These images do not scale or center online, they just position themselves at top left at full size. Here's the portion of my code that centers the image when loading of image is 'done.'

i have both vertical and horizontal pictures... The horizontal pictures work great! But what code and where would I add it if I wanted to tell Flash to center the vertical photos in the large gallery.

what it has to do is to generate "j" buttons (j being the number of registrations from my database) and arrange them in rows of 5 or 6. unfortunately the buttons are generated but are not arranged properly. i have 9 registrations in the database so there are 9 buttons... the first 8 are next to each other and the last one is somewhere to the right.further on, at the release of a button it should create the lwLogo movieclip and load there a certain pic (the path being taken from my database). then the lwLogo mc should be centered on the screen... as this doesn't happen in the _root the center of the screen would be -442 in this movie clip so normally to center the image i should place lwLogo at -442-(lwLogo._width/2) but this doesn't work. the photos are loaded but not in the center.[code]

I want to make my createTextField centered on my movieclip, does anyone know how this is done? I've tried using the texWidth/_width property but it only makes it to narrow. Or is it possible to size the background fill to the length of the word?

I'm loading an external movieclip into an empty movieclip which is inside of another movieclip. But the movieclip I'm loading isn't properly centering to the top movieclip.

Way way way off of the top movieclip. I'd at least expect side2's 0,0 point to be in the upper left which would snap to the center point of this. But not even close.

i have a movieclip(content_mc) that contains 4 movieclips(img1, img2, img3, img4) of different widths within it. The content_mc has been scaled to the browser using _xscale and _yscale. so if i want to center img1 on the screen the math WITHOUT content_mc being scaled would look like this

but being the fact that it's scaled...it returns the original _width values of the nested movieclips. How do i get the values of the new, scaled widths?

I have a website made with flash and I have added all the pages inside a movieclip and this moviclip is centered in the stage using event. Resize and event.Enterframe. But now the problem is..although the gallery (which is an external swf) is inside this movieclip it doesn't stick to this stage.rezise event. How can I control this gallery.

I'm having trouble to center any dynamic content (movieclips, textfields...) inside a dynamically created movieclip, which has a default point of interested in the top left corner.
PS: Just as an example, I have a dynamically created text field inside a dynamically created movieclip....and when I try to scale that movieclip I need to scale it from its center

im trying load a external images and place them inside individual movieclips. All in a for-loop. My problem is that I only get the last image to load. When I trace "i" in the imageLoaded-function it is allways 5 even if it runs it 5 times. Do anyone know why?

I have the following code attached to a movie clip which I am using to load various images into. How would I go about finding the total size of the image being loaded so I can put it into a variable. I want to then show this variable value in a text field so the user knows how big the image is that is being loaded.

Using and Flash 8
index.swf loads entrance.swf,
loadMovie("entrance.swf",_root.entrancePage);
entrance.swf loads some images

entrance.swf has no problem loading the images when played by itself the problem occurs when entrance.swf is loaded into index.swf it no longer loads the images.

When I open a new document in flash, the stage is in the top left corner of my screen and I cannot figure how to center it in the middle. I cannot go to the left or above the stage which is making it very difficult to work with as I cannot access those areas.

I know theres probably a simple solution but it's escaping me at the moment.
I have a centered swf, I want it to stop centering if the swf reaches the side nav so they dont overlap.

I have used the centering pop up technique, but my problem lies with the boreders. I'm using the pop ups for jpgs, but it seems to have a bit of a boreder at the top and the left of the image, how can I get rid of this. I was wondering if there is a way to load multiple png files onto one movie clip without the images overlapping? I'm currently I am creating multiple movieclips for different images and I think I reached the level limit that the flash player can handle, because I have other layers in the timeline whiting out after everything loads.

I'm having problem with regards to getting the name of the inserted images inside the movieclip container.
My movieclip container is named "container", it followed this snippet:

Is it possible to get the exact name of the images instead of "instance147" or "instance175"? So that if i have inserted image with the name of apple.png, it will show:

By the way, i use FileReference to insert image to the stage.

I made this flash CS3 project using Actionscript 2.0
I want to import some images in a folder to stage. The images are named 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg etc.. All these images are 600px in width.
I used a movieclip as a container for these images.
Here's the code.for(i=0; i<3; i++){img_scroll.attachMovie("imgbar", "img"+i, _root.getNextHighestDepth());img_scroll["img"+i]._x = i * 600;img_scroll["img"+i]._y = 0;loadMovie(i+1 +".jpg", img_scroll["img"+i]);}
img_scroll is the movieclip that should contain the images. and imgbar is an empty movieclip.
When i run this code, only the last image is loaded. since i used i<3 in the for loop, only the 3rd image is loaded. its in the right place. (_x = 1800). The first and second images are not loaded...
PS: If i use _root.attachMovie, and _root instead of img_scroll everywhere, all the images are loaded perfectly and in place. But i want them to be inside the img_scroll movieclip. Because that will be animating.
