View 1 Repliesi'm following a tutorial but modifying it to suit what i'm trying to do, basically the tutorial sets the X of each image upon loading but what i need is for the X of the image to change according to the position of mouseX
since cvItemLoader is a variable inside of the cfAddItems function i can't change the image's X from outside the function, at the same time i can't possibly define the variables outside because the total number of images will vary

I have an external swf that loads into my main movie using loadMovie. The original .swf that is being loaded is larger than what I'd like to appear in the main movie. Is it possible to tell the movie clip that the external is being loaded into, to reduce the size of the loaded .swf?

I am still wrapping my head around AS3 and have been building out functionality that loads external images (PNG) from XML and putting them into MovieClips that have interactive events assigned.[code]What I'm trying to do is smooth the images when they are loaded and then adding them to the container "imageClick". What is happening is that the "image" is returning null. A lot of the code above is snippets I've been finding and I guess I'm confused with how some of these things work together.If I remove all the "image" functionality and change the line:[code]The images load fine and show up, but they aren't smooth when scaled.I guess what I'm asking, is how come my "image" object is returning null every time?

i'm trying to change the color of an instance that's inside an external .swf that i load into my main .swf
the code is basically this:
- in the main .swf:

when i click on myButton, the _root.portfolioConteudo.webContainer goes to _x position 50, but the color stays the same. but if i change the target of the corWebFolio to _root.portfolioConteudo, the whole swf becomes red, i mean, the code is right, except for the target path.
I am loading an external swf, but when the swf is loaded, its height is correct, but it's width is not. Why is this?
"Block9.swf" is a simple MovieClip with a width of 100 and a height of 120.
But when the swf is loaded, its width output is 169. But the height is correct at 120.

I have three images and I want change the images size based on the scene size (default size is 1024x768). After each image has completely loaded I call bindableUtils.setter to set width/height when scene size changes but I don't know how to make a pointer or something like that. I'm using a public var img, but it only works with the last complete image.

I'm working on a slideshow where I'm calling in photos from an xml file. How do I tell AS to resize the stage according to photo dimensions? Would I need to list the dimensions in the xml file? If so, how would I pull that into the fla file with AS?

On each keyframe, I made sure to name it introPhoto_mc.Now, before the movieclip first appears, I would like to change its content (just a picture change, dynamically loaded with loadMovie). But if I do so, then the next keyframe will obviously reset the instance to the original content.So I suppose I should modify the actual symbol so that every instance will have the desired content. View 4 RepliesI created a movie clip which loops some text, i would like to populate the stage with instances of it but also with some in a different colour. When I copy frames from my clip and paste them into a new symbol(movie clip) the colour of the other instances changes as well.
View 1 RepliesFor the first stage, I was able to build a walk-through demo in flash pro by creating buttons that when clicked caused the flash to change to different frames. easy enough. Now for the final part of this project, I need to make the interface fully interactive, as I was trying before. ie: you can click any button and lights go on and off or a loop counter increments, etc. Since there is logic involved and too many permutations to do a frame for each possible state, I'm back to trying to do this in an object oriented way. I've got some test code here.

debugger has some errors, so i don't know what exactly it will do. the errors are at the last two if statements where i'm trying to change the object property setting of the label. there is another error at the last curly bracket.
the idea is that there are two labels and a button. the first label starts out visible. when the button is clicked, a counter is checked, and incremented, then the counter is again checked and the appropriate label has it's visible property set to true. the intent is that in a list of several labels, pressing the button scrolls down them, until you press while on the last, which resets the counter and the first label becomes the visible one.
I have a css that defines de skin-class for a custom component, like this :

I am implementing a scrollbar using a custom embedded image using my CSS stylesheet. This is a very simple, thin scrollbar. I would like to configure this scrollbar using CSS properties at runtime, but so far I have been unable to do so. I know it can be done because I've seen examples of it in the net, but no code to review.

so, a blendMode seems to break on a nested movieclip in FP10 when you change a 3d propery of the parent clip? rotationY, rotationZ, etc...Example here (sorry, not enough posts to actually link):

I have developed a flash app in AS3 that allows you to drag objects around on stage, save,and load them. When the "save" button is pressed, it then loops through each item on the stage and gets the coordinates (x and y) for the bottom left corner and the top right corner. Code:

I want to set it up so the size properies will pass over to the block (same object size - height and scale) but also changing the collision properies so the player will be enable push the block around the screen but I'm not sure how to implement such functionality/feature. I've experimented with two ways so far; 1.) The enemy changes to a frame of a block when he dies (illusion of a different object but the same object with a different frame on the timeline) using the same size properies but I can't seem to the change the collision properies from it's prior setting of causing damage and re-bound/bounce to the player. 2.) The enemy is removed completely from the game and a new block object is added in the same position where enemy died but I can't share/code the same size properies to this new block object making obvious that is a different object. Here is a code I've what I've done so far (which is attempting to do first approach);
