ActionScript 2.0 :: Convert An Image To A Button Dynamically?
Nov 6, 2008
How to convert an image to a button through actionscript 2 (flash mx 2004)? Is it necessary to convert it to a button or there is an event so that if someone clicks on an image, he will go to another frame. I load images into my flash through an xml file and i need an event so than if someone clicks on an image, he will go to another frame.
I have successfully loaded images into a movie on my _root using a text file array. I am trying to use that same method to load the image into a movie clip that I have on the Up state of my button. In the text file "imgLoader.txt", I have the code:
Code: &arrJPG=IMG_0323**IMG_0324**IMG_0325& In the AS layer, I have the code:
I have three movieclips (used as buttons) on my main MC. The following code swaps the depth of a dynamically loaded image the when I rollOver each movieclip (button). I want to put the button.rollOver code in a for loop so I dont have to repeat this code for every image loaded.
I am building a flash widget for uploading files, but I want to display the thumbnail with html/js, once I have the file loaded via Browse into flash and have access to the raw data, is there a way to convert that to a base64 encoded dataURL so I can send that back out to JS to create a thumbnail like ?
I want to take a static text field, convert it into a button, and use it as a button. I need it static, because I changed orientation, and I do not know how to do that otherwise. The problem is, even though I converted it to a Button symbol, it does not work when I test the movie. It works fine with "Enable simple buttons", but when I test it, the button is not there, no change in mouse cursor, no reaction at all.So this is what I did:
Made text. // static, not selectable, Orientation: vertical left to right, / //rotated; Two filters: Drop Shadow and Glow;
Converted text field to Button - Symbol (scrollBT)
Editing the Button,I put the same content (the static text field) in all four frames: No luck, not working. without the Hit frame filled (which I think doesn't really make a difference): No luck, not working.Tried again, converting the static text field in the button into a Graphic Symbol: No luck, not working.Tried again, and put some differences in the frames for "ON" and "OVER" etc.: No luck, not working.Tried again, duplicating a similar, working button, edited it, and: No luck, not working.
To the button itself and the AS: The button will be a scroll-button for a text field, with different scroll speeds on rollover and press, but nothing else. The code for that I have (I think). It's something like (and please excuse my incorrect syntax here, but I'm typing from memory; still, I use the Script-Assistant and my syntax is apparently correct; it's also working with other buttons):
on {rollOver} { function (scroll) { textfieldtxt.scroll - = 1;}[code]....
I'm at the end of my wits. The only difference I can tell from other (working) buttons I did the same way, is that the scrollBt does not do anything except scrolling, while all of the others have frame actions (gotoAndplay etc.) associated with them.
I need to convert swf to video dynamically like here:
[URL]
(well I think that they are have video templates in swf format that accept dynamic variables and then that swf is converted to video, If I am wrong let me know too)
I have a swf that accept variables dynamically also I have found some material for flv writing using actionscript here: [URL]
Also I have checked ffmpeg for converting flv to mp4
I have a project which has loads of FLA's with embedded textfields on the timelines. We now need to localize this project into Arabic, with right-to-left text (pulled in from XML) - my understanding is that this is only possible with TLF textfields.
It's going to be a huge task to manually convert all these texfields to TLF. Is there a way to programmatically set a normal textfield to be a TLF textfield?
I'd already posted this question as a reply in a discussion of one of my own earlier posts.. But i needed to draw attention to this problem of mine particularly. so m posting this as a separate question..I need to convert a movieclip dynamically into a vector or some picture format and save it to disk. is that possible? i have almost no knowledge what EPS format is
I'm creating a moodboard application where the user can dynamically load an image onto the stage by pressing a thumb of the image in a menu item. I have most of that working but what I would like to know is that, if there is a way the user can interactively scale/transform the image when it is on the stage in the swf file?
I would like to make a very simple (well, looks simple anyway) image gallery, like Ilyas da Pom's at [URL]..
I want the image part to scale to fit each image dynamically. I'm a brand-spanking new Flash novice, and any guidance would help really; this is just a tiny little personal project, not to be used anywhere commercially.
I would like to find out, how can i make that only a selection is made a button, for example I have a picture (.PNG format) with a transparent background, and the image in the PNG is what i want to be a button, but when i convert the PNG to a button then even the transparent part becomes a button. how can I have only the pic as a button.
we use Flex Charts to generate reports and want to be able to have these reports emailed out on a scheduled basis. To do that, we need the SWF to run (as if in the browser) to fetch the report data and then have its contents converted to PDF or a static image. This needs to happen server side with no interaction from a user. Currently we solve this via an AIR app that can read the report file, but a static image or PDF would be much more desirable.
I wonder if this is possible using Flash or any of the other Adobe products.
[Code]...
Is it possible to convert the text above into an image? Generate dynamic images isn't problem but generating dynamic images which takes html tags into count is for me problematic. (the <br /> shouldn't be displayed instead it should generate a new line) So I was wondering if Flash had some ideas how it can be done...
I want to use ffmpeg to convert swf to png ,and I can't extract image from some kind of swf like: [URL] and I use this code in bat file(1.bat) cws2fws Movie1.swf 3.swf ffmpeg -i 3.swf -f image2 -vcodec png tese%d.png I only want to convert swf to image.
how to change a swf to gif image?i used publish settings i got the gif image.there is animation playing in swf,but in gif instead of that animation some boxexare cuming.is there any other method to do that?
I'm working on somewhat of a templated system where I've got a SWF file as a template and then people upload their own images and place them in the certain masked areas of the SWF to create like a scrapbook page.
My question is this, what would be the best way to convert those images to an image that people can save and thus print? Would I have to do this while their viewing the SWF or is there a way to generate an image with some sort of command line tool that I'd pass the swf the user's settings to make the SWF unique each time?
in AS 3.0. The requirement is, user needs todraw something and take a screenshot or in the PDF format fromflash swf by clicking a Save button[Save button will be in the sameflash file]. Is it possible in AS 3.0 with out any plug-ins?
I'm giving users the ability to upload an image to my Air app, then displaying this image in an image control. But I need to allow for PDF uploading in the same manner, so I need to convert the PDF to an image. I only care about the first page of the PDF they upload for now. What I'm doing is:
1) User browses for a file with the file reference control 2) User chooses the image or PDF to upload 3) I encode said image to base64 and store it 4) I then load from that base64 with something like:
Flash will be receiving a string from the web, either Javascript or query string from the URL(which I'm comfortable with). GOAL: Use that string as a byte array and convert it to bitmap data and display on the screen.
MY PERCEPTION: Use ByteArray and readBytes (I've worked with neither before) to parse the string. Then convert that into Bitmap Data and draw the bitmap on the stage.
I am printing around 50(swf) pages in flash AS2.0. In printer we can print the movie clip only. But i need to convert the movie clip in to image and that image needs to be printed instead of movie clip.
