I've been designing this interface for my site. It contains a mini-tv thing in the corner that plays external flash movies selected at random from a list and loaded into an empty MC ("external_screen") with "loadMovie". the code is as follows
where "technical_fault" and "skag" are external swf files How do I make it so that when a movie finishes, the previous code is run again and a new movie is selected?
I got this script where if you have1 2 3 4 5 and i click on the 5 it will arrange the movie clips so they will be5 1 2 3 4That works correctlyHowever what i'm trying to do now is that if you have1 2 3 4 5and i click on the 1 it will be2 3 4 5 1This has been a pain
the code below loads only the second member of the "koan" array. why it isn't randomly loading swfs? (Could it be a problem with the "var index"?...when it is changed manually in the code from 0 to another number the swf played does change; but still not randomly.)
I'm working on a card game that will allow users to flip the cards and drag them. I have those two functions worked out, but now I am trying to randomize the order of the deck when I load the swf using an array. I know a lot has been said about this issue on here, and I adapted some code that I found. I'm not getting error messages, but it doesn't seem to be shuffling my deck either. Am I missing something? I just have three cards at the moment (figured I'd keep it simple until I get everything worked out!). Below is the code for MemoryGame.as, my document class. The shuffle function is near the bottom.
package{ import flash.display.MovieClip; import Card; import Boarder; import BlueBoard; public class MemoryGame extends MovieClip { private var _card:Card; private var _boarder:Boarder; private var _blueBoard:BlueBoard; private var _redBoard:RedBoard
i used the Fader class to build a fade in-out slideshow and wanted to make it shuffle. While the slideshow works fine by its own, i just cant figure the way to make it switch the images randomly. Heres the code:
I'm pretty sure this is a common requirement but a bit of googling hasn't provided me with a satisfactory answer so far.Basically, I need to shuffle a 2d array of Points (co-ordinates) so that they are still the same co-ordinates, but stored in a different order.
im playing with the load random movie (but loading a random xml file instead) based on the wonderful tutorial from front page and was wondering whether anyone can show me the work around/upgrade to AS2 for this bit of script since im publishing to Flash 8 /AS2 and it doesnt work:
I have 5 boxes on the stage as movie clips, each one with the same animation waiting to be targeted. What I need is a random script that will make them play in "random" order. This should occur after a few seconds of inactivity where they each play, but once there's mouse movement, whichever ones did animate should "reset" or play back to their original positions, (assuming there's more boxes and there's movement before all of them play). I have some code in there for arrays and some random script that isn't working right now. I just need the random setup, really. I may be able to figure out the time delay, (maybe), and then be able to tweak the rest of it for how I need. Right now, I've just simplified everything in a 5 box example hoping someone might be able to work with what I have.
I'm trying to build a shuffle function that somebody gave me into my card game. I two external .as classes; one is Shuffle.as, which is my document class, and the other is card.as. I'm building the shuffling function into Shuffle.as. I think I'm getting close to making it work, but there are some problems. I keep getting this error message: "5000: The class 'Shuffle' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type." Here is my code. Shuffle.as code
Download file synchronously in it?I am really new to Flash. I have just read the tutorial "Loading a Random Background" I was hoping that this would help me be able to load SWF files, which in themselves are short movies, on the click of a button.
I have all the SWF files and the FLA file in the same folder as per the instructions, and labled likewise.
However when I try to play this movie, all I get is the main SWF movie, it doesn't want to load the other random movies.[code],...
i have a collection of movie clips (mc0, mc1, mc2...etc etc), and when motion is detected on a webcam, one of these clips is shown on the stage.however, for some reason only mc0, mc1 and mc2 are being displayed,and i cannot get mc3, mc4 or any others to be chosen.
Code: import flash.filters.* // Assumes a Video object named "myVideoObject" is on the Stage
I'm trying to make a series of 16 short movies loop infinitely in a random order. I have a master movie clip called "random_mov" that has 17 frames. In frame one is an action:gotoAndStop(1 + Math.floor(Math.random() * 17));Frames 2 - 17 are my individual movies (movie1, movie2, movie3, etc...), one per frame. The code above does seem to work, but it only works once, looping a randomly selected frame forever. I need it to go back to frame one after each movie is complete so it can select another random frame
there is a way to run an MC or a movie at a random time.IE... while a user is at my site, i want to randomly load a movie or MC or two at different times. almost like an ad banner popping up at 3 minutes into you visiting the site.
Picture the scene, my trees are grown, the sun is in the sky and the birds are singing, as you move the mouse over one of the empty fields, tiny pretty flowers begin to grow where your mouse has been.
I am fairly new to actionscript infact I've only had flash for a few days, so still learning, but what I'vedecided to do are just small little projects to try and improve my skills and knowledge of Actionscriptas I am enjoying programming8-)I would like to be able to display a random movieclip from my library which I created earlier and convertedthem to a symbol of a movieclip and then linked them with names piece1, piece2, piece 3 and piece 4.What I would like to be able to do is display these movie clips randonly on the stage, I've use an array withjust 1 object inside it but not with 4.
var randompiece:int=Math.random()*3;var mazearray:Array=["piece1","piece2","piece3","piece4"]; I'm not sure where to go from here
I am making a survey which consists of 50 questions in which each question will play one movie clip and will ask the user to enter in a text box what they think about it. After that they click next and will go to the next clip
I'm making a slide show that will be playing in the background at a retirement party. I have several different slides (movie clips) that I would like continually play at random.So far my random code looks like this:
ActionScript Code: var MCs = new Array("ball", "box", "poly"); var selectedMC = MCs[Math.floor(Math.random() * MCs.length)];
Is there a way to make it gotoAndPlay once it selects the random movieclip?
I've built a random image generator that places 6 different coloured movie clips randomly on the stage and at any quantity that I specify. So I can have say 100 black, 30 red, 50 blue clips scattered about the screen...lovely. My only problem is that the code goes through and does one colour clip at a time so it places the 100 black first on lower levels that the 30 red, which are on lower levels than the blue and so on. This creates the problem that the last colour always dominates as it's on the top most levels. Is there a simple way to randomise the levels as the movie clips are copied? Here's the code
way to randomly load a flash movie into a specific place of the same dimensions.
I am creating a page where I have a spot for a flash movie, and I would like to randomly load 4-5 different animations into that space that would change randomly by refreshing the page.
I'm working on a variation of the photo gallery tutorial, and I've been trying to specify random effects on a movie clip which is dynamically loading photos. I tried using the idea of the randomly loading backgrounds to specify panning effects, except that flash is running several of them on each photo instead of one case to each time a new photo loads.Here is the script, without the random effects.......
[AS] var absX = Stage.width/2; var absY = Stage.height/2; this.pathToPics = "";
I want to have a background that has random movie clips playing. Originally I was going to have long timelines with blank frames. Is there a simple a frame action that I can use that stops the playhead and makes it wait for certain amount of time and then plays?
I have a movie clip which i gave instance name "abc" (suppose). I want this movie clip to automatically load randomly on the scene when i load movie. I mean this movie clip should be seen randomly making lots of duplicates scattering all over the document (like stars twinkles randomly all over the sky).
