there is a way to run an MC or a movie at a random time.IE... while a user is at my site, i want to randomly load a movie or MC or two at different times. almost like an ad banner popping up at 3 minutes into you visiting the site.

Movie Clip Within Main Timeline Runs Slow/choppy First Time Around, But Not Second Time?

I have a fairly complex animation movie clip within my main timeline in a Flash file.  When you click a button, it plays the movie clip, then goes back out to the main timeline.  The first time the movie clip runs, it plays choppy and slow, but if I play it two or more times, it plays correctly (smoothly).  Is there some actionscript I need to preload the movie clip, or some other solution to the first-run slowness?

can i make the animation appear randomly but with time limite ?example:if the random number allow that the animation appear, the animation must stay 3 secondes then dissapear even if the random number is changed before the 3 secondes are finish.also when random number allow that the animation disappear, the animation must stay hidden 3 to 6 secondes randomly but at least it must stay disappeared 3 secondes .

i want to make a movement. An object has to come from behind an object and go back again.The interval between each time the object appears has to be random.i was trting to maken something with the setTimer() function, and a random. The random gives a var.This var i would use as time for the object appears in combination with the setTimer().i can't come up with a decent code that would work.Where do i need to define the start vars, adn where do i define the random script.

I have "leaf" MC that floats across the screen. It's affected by a wind generator. I want to duplicate the leaf movie clip at random time intervals (between 2-9 secs).I can get the random time interval, I can dup the MC. How do I get it to re-set the interval and dup the MC at the new random time interval?The final effect I'm after is a MC that reproduces at random intervals every single time.

I have 5 boxes on the stage as movie clips, each one with the same animation waiting to be targeted. What I need is a random script that will make them play in "random" order. This should occur after a few seconds of inactivity where they each play, but once there's mouse movement, whichever ones did animate should "reset" or play back to their original positions, (assuming there's more boxes and there's movement before all of them play). I have some code in there for arrays and some random script that isn't working right now. I just need the random setup, really. I may be able to figure out the time delay, (maybe), and then be able to tweak the rest of it for how I need. Right now, I've just simplified everything in a 5 box example hoping someone might be able to work with what I have.

I'm trying to make a website which loads and displays a random photograph each time someone visits it. I already know how to preload a photo but in this case the photos are quite big, so I want to preload the RANDOM photo with the site at the beginning of the site loading process. A very simplistic approach is to make 20 or something versions of the site, each with a different photo but this would be very, er... simplistic. I usually have a site.swf, a preloader.swf which loads the site, and I use no frames in my site.swf.

I'm making a shooter where you are a plane and drop bombs on below boats(your flying over the sea) and I have 2 types of boats, a red and blue one. I want the game to make a random boat(either red or blue) to come along every now and then. I have created a var Boat, and made it generate a random number between 0+1, so either 0 or 1. Then in the function on load put "if (Boat > 0)" import the red boat and 1 for blue.

The problem is is that the red boat always comes, and not the blue boat, and if I make it 0 for the blue boat only the blue boat comes. I think its because when the game starts it generates the number that number is the same through out the game. how to make it generate a random number each time a boat comes? Or anything else that might work.

I have been trying to get 4 random letter generators to work at the same time as they all load on keyframe 60. However only one will work while the other 3 dont ever show up. I have given an example below if someone could let me know how I would get it to work. Setting up a time limit that if the time equals to 3 minutes the game stop.I have a card game with 10 different cards to be paired. My problem is to put a timer that limit the player to only 3 minutes of playing after which a movie clip that says "Time is up!" will be displayed.
