ActionScript 2.0 :: F8 Play / Pause Clip Not Working With NetStream

Feb 6, 2009

I've got a play/pause movie on my timeline to control an FLV via NetStream. The idea is to switch from a play symbol to a pause symbol, but it's not working.[code]Clicking on the clip will start and stop the flv just fine, but the symbol switch doesn't happen. When I take out the ns code, just to check and see if the switch will actually work, there's no problem.What am I doing wrong? How can I get my clip to change from a play to a pause symbol?

ActionScript 2.0 :: [CS3] Netstream Play/Pause - Show A Couple Of Short Animations?

Feb 20, 2009

I'm using netstream to show a video in .flv.Over this video I need to show a couple of short animations, and when they play, I need to paus the long video so it doesn't plays in advance in the background.I've got this script to pause the movie:

Code:
btnPlay.onRelease = function () {
ns.pause();
}

But how do I apply it so that when the timeline hits a certain frame, it calls it. I mean, the user can't really know when to stop to see the animations, so it has to be done at a specific time.

Code:
this.onEnterFrame = function(){
ns.pause();
}

Would do it.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Error On BitMapData.draw() After NetStream.pause() Then NetStream.seek()

Feb 25, 2010

I am working on an app that will take a snapshot of an rtmp stream of an archived video, save it to a file, and ExternalInterface the file name to the hosting page to javascript it up for display.

I actually have all pieces working great. The only time an error is thrown is when I pause the video, seek to somewhere, and then try to take a snapshot. Then there is a runtime error of:
SecurityError: Error #2123: Security sandbox violation: BitmapData.draw: mySwf.swf cannot access rtmp://myFlashServer/myApp. No policy files granted access.I've seen post after post of suggestions and have tried them, but without success.

I have the crossdomain.xml and my FlashMediaServer security setup fine (it is actually working, except for this one glitch). It just seems to be the pause-then-seek-then-BitMapData.draw() combination which is creating issues.

Another weird thing: after the error is thrown, if I resume the stream and take a snapshot, it works flawlessly again.

ActionScript 3.0 :: NetStream Play Complete Still Not Working?

May 2, 2008

Hoped this would ave been fixed in as3 but this event does not always get triggered. Seems to be related to the encode. Anyways I would like to see others approach to this issue.

Currently I have place a condition in the NetStream.Play.Stop event to check if the ns.time is > the duration-1;

[as]
if (ns.time > duration-1){
playing = "complete";
}
[as]

I have noticed this does even work consistantly unless I change it to ns.time > duration-2.

Media Server :: NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound Not Working?

Aug 3, 2011

I would like to have the possibility to detect when NetStream is not working (i.e. the name used in initialization can't be found on the server side). The StreamNotFound doesn't work at all. I've read that it's the fault of the Flash Media Server, which automaticaly creates new stream, if it cannot be found (of course it's an empty stream - what is wrong from my point of view). Is it true? If yes, can I disable it on the server side, so I could easily detect if the stream name is correct?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Play / Pause Buttons Not Working Accordingly

Jun 2, 2008

I have a glitch in Video Player. Some times when I press play/pause the button switches but the command to pause/play doesn't run, or I guess it gets called twice and continues to play. I have an on enterframe monitor running on the video. My automatic assumption is to check whether the video is playing and have the button act accordingly. But suspect this may be even more buggy.

ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Pause And Play This Movie Clip

Mar 10, 2005

I've created some scrolling images and want to add a play and pause button to it. I want it playing when the site loads up but I can't get it to stop. I've used the stop(); AS but it won't work. I think it's because I haven't made it using tweening etc as the scrolling is purely AS based.

The FLA file is here could someone take a look please and tell me what AS I would need to add to my buttons so it will stop and play. I haven't created the buttons but I will have one for play and one for pause.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Pause Movie After Loading, Then Play After Playing Another Clip

Oct 20, 2010

This is the set up so far. Loader1, is playing till home.swf is loaded. I am using the loadClip function for it. onLoadProgress plays the first bit of Loader1.

What I want to do is within onLoadInit() = function(_mc:MovieClip) {

root.ldr1.addEventListener("played", function() {_mc.gotoAndPlay(1);});            // add listener to Loader 1
_mc.stop();

[Code]....

The problem is that it is not playing the function. Also _mc.stop(); is not stopping the loaded file. It keeps playing, though _mc._alpha is working fine.

How can I make sure the event is being dispatched?? Home.swf ( the _mc being loaded), is within a separate movieclip, over the loader.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Pause NetStream Loading?

Dec 21, 2009

i have this (becoming-abnoxious) client, for which i make a video player (using the NetStream class), who came out today requesting that instead of starting to load the video only when the user clicks the 'play button, he want the video to begin downloading as the player loads (before the user clicks the 'play' button), but only the first 10 minutes of video (most of his videos are long, even up to an hour), and after that the loading will pause, and will resume (from the same point of course) after 3:30 minutes if the user doesn't click the 'play' button in the meanwhile.

i told him no-can-do: i can pause the download after (give-or-take) 10 minutes of video were downloaded, but once the downloading resumes it will start from squqre-one (using what has downloaded to the browser's cache). his reply for that was 'i don't take no for an answer, find a way'.before i give him the 'no-can-do' again, is there anybody who think that my client request is doable?

Actionscript 3.0 :: FLV NetStream Pause() Doesn't Work

Apr 30, 2008

I followed lee's tutorial to create my own video player and I'm using AS3 for that. The problem is that for some reason, pause() doesn't work, it will pause the first time I clicked it, but it wouldn't go back and play again. I looked through AS3 books and online, everything tells me that pause() should be able to pause and resume. Another thing is that if I try to use pause(true), an error would appear and tell me that the argument should be no more than zero, and I'm like "why?????" so here's my code, it is basically based on lee's code but in AS3...

AS2 :: Play Movie Clip OnMouseUp Not Working?

I have managed to do this with the following AS2 on the first frame on the timeline:

stop();
slide_mc.stop();
button_btn.onPress = function() {
slide_mc.gotoAndPlay(1);

This works well for the first time, but after that it does not recognise my mouseDown, only my mouseUp.

Media Server :: Stream.play (live_from_FMLE, -1, 4500, True) Got No NetStream.Play.Start?

Nov 5, 2010

I got a bunch of live stream from FMLE, say: "FMLE_channel1", "FMLE_channel2", "FMLE_channel3". And then on the server side, I created several corresponding republished stream called "channel1", "channel2", "channel3".

On periodical basis, we call Stream.get("channel1").play("FMLE_channel1", -1, 10, true) every 10 seconds. Similar things were done on the second channel & third channel.Soon after the above Stream.get("channel1").play() call, I should get the following events in sequence:info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Startinfo :NetStream.Play.Resetinfo :NetStream.Play.Start In the above case all are happy. Clients can view channel1, channel2, channel3 well.But then after a while, one of the three channels, in most case it would be channel1, will not be viewable.

With the server trace info, I found that after the Stream.get("channel1").play() call, only the following two events exists:

info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Starti.e. I was missing the play.reset and play.start event.I further checked and confirmed that the FMLE was publishing all three channels fine to the server. I was able to view the "FMLE_channel1" from flash clients, but not the republished "channel1". the version is FMS 3.5.0.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Function NetStream.pause() Process Incorect When Embed Swf In Webpage

Oct 26, 2008

I use NetStream to play media file. It includes pause, resume functions. When running in the flash player, there isn't any problem. However, when embedding this swf file in web page, there is following problem. - If clicking [pause] button and then (in short period) clicking [resume] button to continue playing, no problem. But, if clicking [resume] button after longer period (bigger than playing file's time), the swf file will start playing at the next media file in the list, NOT at the time that was paused.

I would like to send the source code link: [URL]

i can't test this article [URL] when I pause netstream. it clear buffer. when I resume it rebuffer

ActionScript 3.0 :: Different Between NetStream.play And VideoPlayer.play?

Nov 4, 2010

1) What is the recommended/best practice method for loading videos (flv, f4v, mp4, etc.) from a play list. Some of the files might be on the local file system, some might be on a streaming server and uses rtmp.

2) Does the VideoPlayer.play internally use NetStream/NetConnection objects? I could get the files to play using both these methods - not sure if one is better than the other. I didn't see any references about streaming in the VideoPlayer.play method - but it does work with rtmp URLs!

3) For a long running standalone application, how do I make sure the VideoPlayer/NetStream objects are properly released/garbage collected? Right now I am closing the netstream/netconnection after playing every file - mainly because I do not know which server/file system the next video is being loaded from.

Flash :: Streaming - Generate A "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound" Error While Play?

Mar 2, 2011

I used NetStream.play("invalid-live-stream-url") to play an invalid live stream. The other arguments are using default, e.g. start = -2, len = -1.

The menu says that when we use the default "start" and "len" to call "NetStream.play", "Plays the live stream until it is no longer available. If a live stream of the specified name is not found, Flash Player plays a recorded stream until it ends."

However, I do not have a recorded stream on the server that has the same name as the live stream, and I did not get the expected "NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound" error.

ActionScript 2.0 :: NetStream.Buffer.Empty Not Working?

Jun 25, 2009

I have 9 videos in a gallery. Each one gets displayed in a custom video component. When you navigate to watch a new one a new NetStream is setup.I have 2 problems. Basically if you don't watch the video right to the end and when you select and watch a new one:1. a "buffering video" movieclip does not display correctly (or at all) indicating that NetStream.Buffer.Empty isn't working properly (maybe its referencing the previous movie ???).2. when the next movie is buffered and starts you hear a little split second glitch of sound (which sounds like its from the previous movie).

both these problems seem to indicate that in some way the previous movie is still lingering around and in some way needs to be 'flushed' away so that on the next movie the code to display the 'buffering video' message works properly and you don't get this legacy remnant of sound for a split second.At the beginning of the code for each movie I have placed:

ns.pause();
player.clear();
ns.close();
