There is a time counter in my game, and I want to use the time counter as my score counter.That's mean, player will get 1 point every second. Until they hit by asteroid, game is over. So the longer time they survive, the higher score they can get.And, one last thing...How to remove all asteroids when users click the "Play again" button in the "end" scene

I'm trying to make a game that's a top down shooter kind of like Asteroids, but there are no asteroids, just enemy ships. Anyway, I'm trying to make a radar for it. The area for the ships to shoot eachother in is 2400 pixels length and height. The stage is 650 x 500 pixels. The radar works fine for when I'm traveling up and down, but the enemy ships on the radar move in the opposite direction as the enemy ships on the screen when I move left to right. When I move left the enemy ships on the radar also go right, instead of left.[code]this code is called from a move objects function which is an ENTER_FRAME event if that helps any.

i am building a shooting game and i was wondering if it is possible to have the movie go to frame 3 if the score = 500.I.E Score is displayed in a dynamic text box and everytime the enemy is hit the:

I have a result screen that shows bonus points and such. I want each text field to increment one after another and also have it increment by a certain amount each frame. Result Screen pops up. First is the player score check the player score, is it more than the score we want to display if the player score is greater than the player display score by 100 increase the player display score by 100 if the player score is greater than the player display score by 10 increase the player display score by 10 else increase the player display score by 1 when finished move to the next score...and so on. I have thought of using timers to move from one score to the next, but not being in an Event.ENTER_FRAME it only does one if then moves to the next one.
Also the if statement for incrementing the score looks ridiculous and I'm thinking there has to be a better way to do it. I was thinking of making it a separate function but then I wouldn't know what to return, or how to return it so it looks like its increasing and not just showing the total number instantly. I'll try to expand on it a little more.

The Scene "bar" (don't know official name), which is supposed to be directly above the Stage, does not appear on my version of CS4 Pro.It's visible on the computers at school, but it doesn't appear on my screen on my Mac.How do I make it appear?A search in the preferences yielded nothing.No tabs or little things to click around the stage area, either.This is not to be confused with the Scene palette from the top pulldown menu.NOT windows > other panels > scene.

I just built a website entirely in Flash Catalyst CS5. After adding a few more states the file size got bigger and the loading time increased. On average, it takes about 10 seconds for the site to load on my connection. Till then all you get is a white page and the spark preloader shows up when you scroll down. All I want is a simple preloader with a percentage indicator, loading bar, and maybe my company logo.

Basically when you click a menu button I want an mc of a box to tween with easing to that button as an indicator as to what section the user is currently viewing.

OK I've got a little more research on this done so I'm going to totally rephrase the question: I have two trees, I want to be able to drag items from one tree to the other. In the receiving tree I have some logic that allows or denys the drop. I am using the native cursor feedback Like this :

When the logic determines NONE it properly rejects the item except the drop position indicator sticks like in the screenshot. I know now that neither dragComplete, nor dragDrop are being fired in this situation, so I have no function to put code into that would clean that up. So how can I listen for this drag rejection? I need to do a simple progress indicator while loading an image on background. I'm using the flash.display.Loader class in what seems to be the standard way. The problem is that even though I can see that flash.display.LoaderInfo fires the ProgressEvent.PROGRESS at regular intervals using tracing, a dynamically updated text (or any other graphics object) is updated only once when the loading finishes. It looks like if the display update queued and caused only one update at the end. This is a simplified version of the function which initiates the loading:[code]

I am trying to upload image files to my server using AS3 and PHP, and at the moment I am succeeding in uploading multiple files and restricting it to images only, but since I am finding it difficult to figure out how to have a loader bar show when the files are being uploaded, as well as executing a function once all files have been uploaded to go to a specified frame.
Here is my code thus far,

I have a .swf file containing a navigation bar and also an animation. I was going to use getURL on the nav buttons so that a different html page would launch onRelease. The animation in the swf file that contains the nav buttons plays as soon as the swf is loaded and there's also a movie clip in the file which continues its animation even after the file has loaded and played. As each of the nav buttons are pressed and the correct html page loads, I don't want the entire swf file to reload and therefore play the entire animation again as it did on the home page, but instead I just want it to appear as though it's already loaded but I do want the separate movie clip in the swf file to continue to play. Is there any way to make this happen?
Also, I wondered what code I'd need to make the current page nav button appear in a different state to all the other buttons to make a "you are here" effect.

I have a scroll pane component with SWFs loaded in them vertically like a PDF viewer. I need to be able to change the page indicator when the user scrolls. I have an event listener on the scroll pane listening for scroll. I'm having some issues getting my top 5 score board to work.. it's done in AS3 and is saved using a shardObject - the loading/saving aspect works 100%, but the actual scores are getting confused and overwriting each other, EG if you get the top score, it replaces both the 1. and 2.

i have created a mini-game in CS3 that is like a race using KEY_UP and the score its equal to the number of times the the right key's go up. that is already done, my problem is to display the score. i'm a bit confuse of how to use a textbox. and the textbox have to appear on the Simbol that won. i create the textbox and insert its type input to appear on the tela, but put it to work with score is the problem :S

I'm trying to make an interactive quiz with a few key points:each answer has to add to a score, and the score has to be displayed at the end of the quiz in a dynamic text box.I've coded all the buttons and finished the animations, but I still need to set it up so each correct answer gives the player a point. How would I go about doing this, plus displaying it at the end? I might feel ambitious and try to have two different animations at the end, a "good" ending and a "bad" ending. How do I get the animation to go to a specific frame depending on the players score, depeding if it is above or below a certain number?
