I have the following script for my preLoader (see below).Its a simple preLoader with a loading bar that goes from left to right with a percent read out.What I want is the percent text box to move along the _x with the load bar, so when the load bar is at 100% the percent text box is just above.

I download the files for Lee's "Preloading in ActionScript 3" Tutorial and encounter a problem when I try to change the font family for the percent text. No problems when changing the size and color, just the family. Does anyone know why this happens? [URL]

im trying to make a pre-loader, that based on the percent loaded, displays text. So at 5% it says "loading" and at 10% "still loading" , etc. Im guessing there is a way to say percenttotal=5, entertext=still loading target=instancenameoftextbox I've gotten the loader tutorial on the site here to work, i just want to add this to it.

I'm doing a presentation flash and in my presentation, I don't want to show my mouse movement.
I have a text input box for me to enter text. The text box property is set to dynamic.
I have create a keylistener for me to press "I" or "i" and when I press "I", I want my text input box to enable me to type text in.
How can I code in AS to achieve this action?
Initial state of text input box is disabled, when I press "I" or "i" text input enabled and I can type in text. After that, I press another key, will disable the typing of text again.

I have a movie clip. Inside that movie clip, I have an input text with an instance name of text. I also have 2 frames of actionscript.
How can I make it that the 2 frames are disabled, and only enabled once you click on the input text?
I want this to happen so you can type in the input text with all capabilities. I already used setFocus, however it doesn't grant me the ability to backspace.[code]...

The Scene "bar" (don't know official name), which is supposed to be directly above the Stage, does not appear on my version of CS4 Pro.It's visible on the computers at school, but it doesn't appear on my screen on my Mac.How do I make it appear?A search in the preferences yielded nothing.No tabs or little things to click around the stage area, either.This is not to be confused with the Scene palette from the top pulldown menu.NOT windows > other panels > scene.

I just built a website entirely in Flash Catalyst CS5. After adding a few more states the file size got bigger and the loading time increased. On average, it takes about 10 seconds for the site to load on my connection. Till then all you get is a white page and the spark preloader shows up when you scroll down. All I want is a simple preloader with a percentage indicator, loading bar, and maybe my company logo.

Just asking about the score indicator and how to remove asteroids, To make clear what I need to make: There is a time counter in my game, and I want to use the time counter as my score counter. I'm looking for a tutorial that shows you how to create a menu indicator from an mc.
Basically when you click a menu button I want an mc of a box to tween with easing to that button as an indicator as to what section the user is currently viewing.
Ive seen one awhile back but cannot seem to find the tutorial on it.

The desired affect is simple: I have a single button... with each click I want it to load text into a dynamic text field and load a corresponding picture or movieclip.There are only three unique text/image combinations- after its displayed the third, with the next click I want it to just start over. All the text functions perfectly with each click.
The problem is:I use "createEmptyMovieClip" then use the resulting clip as a loader clip.. With the first click I want a movieclip from the library to load, so I use the "attachMovie" method- it displays the first library fine.With the next click I want to load an external swf- so I call the "loadMovie" method of the loaderclip... The external swf loads just fine replacing the first library clip.The third clip is where I have problems... now I want to load another library item into the loaderclip... so I tried using the attachMovie method again but the external swf remains static... then with the next click, I discover the first library item no longer loads and the external swf remains still playing- it's like once it's been loaded into the loaderclip it cant be moved...
So I tried adding the "unloadMovie" method in the code for the third click.. it successfully removed the swf... but the next line of code immediately after the unload statement, doesn't work. The line calls the attachMovie method for the loaderclip... but the library item doesnt load... Oddly enough, with the next click, the first library item now does load as if everything's fine... It seems like you cant use the unloadMovie and attachMovie on the same executing code? if that makes any sense... the basic idea was that if I couldnt get the attachmovie method to replace the loaded external swf, then I would use the unload method to remove it, then have code immediately after, to then execute the attachMovie method... but it still doesnt load the library clip. and I know it's not a type-o, because when I comment out the loadMovie and unloadMovie statements, it loads both the library items perfectly ? OK I've got a little more research on this done so I'm going to totally rephrase the question: I have two trees, I want to be able to drag items from one tree to the other. In the receiving tree I have some logic that allows or denys the drop. I am using the native cursor feedback Like this :

When the logic determines NONE it properly rejects the item except the drop position indicator sticks like in the screenshot. I know now that neither dragComplete, nor dragDrop are being fired in this situation, so I have no function to put code into that would clean that up. So how can I listen for this drag rejection? I need to do a simple progress indicator while loading an image on background. I'm using the flash.display.Loader class in what seems to be the standard way. The problem is that even though I can see that flash.display.LoaderInfo fires the ProgressEvent.PROGRESS at regular intervals using tracing, a dynamically updated text (or any other graphics object) is updated only once when the loading finishes. It looks like if the display update queued and caused only one update at the end. This is a simplified version of the function which initiates the loading:[code]

Right now the code is on each button instance, example:[code]so the variable aMenu holds the moveclip names of the buttons. pageHolder holds the the name of the current page that is loaded.Thats how I change the pages to be loaded. To explain, if you look at the button code, the text for each button is by default greay and when you rollover it becomes black and off and it becomes gray again. That is on the first frame. On the second frame the text is black.In the code I tried to make the black dynamically, but it didn't work, so I settled for going to the second frame and stopping.My second question(much shorter I promise).I guess its preference, but is it generally good to put the code on each instance of a button or put in in the main frame where your code lies.

I am trying to upload image files to my server using AS3 and PHP, and at the moment I am succeeding in uploading multiple files and restricting it to images only, but since I am finding it difficult to figure out how to have a loader bar show when the files are being uploaded, as well as executing a function once all files have been uploaded to go to a specified frame.
Here is my code thus far,

I have a .swf file containing a navigation bar and also an animation. I was going to use getURL on the nav buttons so that a different html page would launch onRelease. The animation in the swf file that contains the nav buttons plays as soon as the swf is loaded and there's also a movie clip in the file which continues its animation even after the file has loaded and played. As each of the nav buttons are pressed and the correct html page loads, I don't want the entire swf file to reload and therefore play the entire animation again as it did on the home page, but instead I just want it to appear as though it's already loaded but I do want the separate movie clip in the swf file to continue to play. Is there any way to make this happen?
Also, I wondered what code I'd need to make the current page nav button appear in a different state to all the other buttons to make a "you are here" effect.

I have buttons that are just static text: the text color changes on the over and down state, and I have a larger solid rectangular box on the text in the "hit" state.When I roll over the text, the state changes only occur outside the text area where the hit area is defined outside of the text.I tried the advice of going to "control" --> "enable simple buttons" but that just made the text flicker when the mouse is over the button,
p.s. AS3 works fine on the buttons. It's just the hit area that's the problem.

I have a scroll pane component with SWFs loaded in them vertically like a PDF viewer. I need to be able to change the page indicator when the user scrolls. I have an event listener on the scroll pane listening for scroll.
