Working on a project with a mobile device running windows mobile 5.0 and Flash Lite 2.1
I need to connect to a web service from within my application, or at least call the methods in the web service to get it to send xml back to my flash lite 2.1 application.
Tried XMLconnector, WebServiceConnector and the WebService class. Cant get it to work. Maybe a special api for mobile devices?

I've been developing for this Beta Macromedia Flash player for Windows Mobile (not CE or Pocket PC mind you) that someone found somewhere on the net.. has anyone else come across this, or know of a new (non-beta!) version?

(if you come across this randomly, my solution is answered at the bottom)Edit: While mulling over my code trying to find a solution, I noticed that when my .swf freezes as it is tweening out, an animated movie clip that is on the stage also freezes mid-animation. which brings me to believe that my problems may stem from the loading/creating image portion of my code. as a result, here is my loading function to supplement the code below:

View 2 RepliesI am working on a short animated story, which has a scrubbable timeline and chapter headings. I used TimelineMax for sequencing it. For the most part, it is working fine. I am seeing some strange behavior that pop up, though: sprites disappear, functions stop responding to user input, seams of the sprites become transparent -- all small issues but pretty hard to nail down because they happen in Mac only.
So I am wondering what is wrong with Flash, and why it misbehaves on a Mac?
I have a grails application using jquery mobile. I am hoping to find some way to access the camera on the devices. I thought about using flash to grab the webcam but that obviously wont work on Apple devices. Does anyone know of a way to do it and keep it all browser based? I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.

From an Adobe Air application, I need a function to launch the Windows Virtual Keyboard (c:windowssystem32osk.exe). I tried the Native Process, but it didn't work when telling it to execute cmd.exe /C osk.exe. How should I launch the keyboard application from an Adobe Air application?
