ActionScript 2.0 :: Graphic Card - Sliding Animation Down

Mar 6, 2009

I am trying to make a graphic of a card slide down with actionscript, I don't want to use the time line.
Code:
// Get the card top pos
var card_y = getProperty ( _root.Aladdin.Card, _y );
// Move down
for ( var i = card_y; i <= 0; i++ ) {
setProperty ( _root.Aladdin.Card, _y, i );
}
Obviously this makes the car animate way to fast and cannot be seen by the user. So how exactly in actionscript would I put a 0.1 second pause between each loop iteration?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Sliding Photo Gallery - Graphic Symbol A Different Size From The Original Template

Mar 16, 2009

I just pulled together a picture gallery, where the pictures simply scroll across the screen using arrows. I used the template from [URL] The problem is that when I added my own pictures, the graphic symbol was obviously a different size from the original template. So when the images scroll they should stop at a certain point as to not show any empty space. I changed the values that i guessed were the ones setting up where the graphic has to stop at, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. The code below is the only script of any importance, at least that I know of. The other stuff just points to targets and gotoandplay stuff.

Designing Popup Card Animation Properly?

I am trying to design a pop up card in flash but it's a tough one to work out. I have a flat illustration which my client wants to appear as if it is on a pop up card, but I'm having trouble trying to animate this. Everything I try looks a bit flat, and trying to get the perspective right is a killer.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Simple Card Flip Animation?

Oct 13, 2010

not sure if this is the right place to post this question but here goes!  I want to create a simple card flip animation whereby a card slides onto the screen from the right, flips over to reveal a different picture on the other side, flips back and then slides off screen.  In fact, the full animation will involve two cards, sliding onto the screen one after the other, then flipping one at a time, flipping back one at a time and then only ONE of them sliding off screen, to the left or right depending on which side of the screen they are on.  Can anyone tell me whether this is possible using Flash CS5?  I am a total novice at this, and having spent hours and hours on  it, I have so far only managed to get a card to slide onto the screen and flip but I don't know how to get it to show a different picture on the other side.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Card Shuffle Animation - Accessing Parent MovieClips

Aug 19, 2009

I am trying to implement a "card shuffle" animation using MovieClip instances on the stage. The instances are linked to the same class. From the class I am able to look at the numChildren of the parent:
trace(this.parent.numChildren);

Let's say I have three cards on the stage with these instance names: "orange_mc", "green_mc" and "blue_mc". They are all linked to a custom class I created. On a MouseEvent I would like to bring the selected card to the top depth. I know that this would do the trick:
this.parent.addChild(this);

I would like to animate the effect and it seems that to be able to do this I would need to know the depths of all the MovieClips on the stage (or at least to determine if the selected is at the top - for this, no animation would be required). I tried the following, only to get an error:
this.parent.getChildIndex(orange_mc);
and
MovieClip(this.parent).getChildIndex(orange_mc);

Java :: Print Photo ID Card To A Plastic Card Printer From Website?

Oct 28, 2010

printing directly to a Photo ID Card printer in a web browser?I have a web application that manages user data, photo, and so forth. I'd like to add a Print ID Card feature to it. The web application is a single page javascript application that talks to a RESTful web service via JSON. I'd like to display what the printed card will look like on both the front and back for approval before the user clicks the print button.

Generate front and back JPG or PNG images to print on the server, send them to the client for display and approval, and then somehow send the images to the printer.Use javascript with SVG or Canvas to display the card to print in the UI for approval, then somehow send the SVG/canvas data to the printer.Generate a PDF and print the PDF to the printer.Use Flash to display and print Use a Java applet to display and print Something else?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Make An Animation Where Movieclips Come Sliding Onto The Stage?

Nov 9, 2004

I'm making a application where the projector is played fullscreen, and the stage itself is not scalable. But I'd like to make an animation where movieclips come sliding onto the stage (starting outside the stage). But because everything is fullscreen, you can see these MC's outside of the stage, this is not what I want.

So, is there a way to be able to hide everything that is outside of the stage?

Actionscript :: Smooth Sliding Animation In Flex With Large Amounts Of Components

Nov 19, 2010

I have a component I created that works like a Viewstack but the next index component slides in from one of the four sides. I've got it working well enough that it's acceptable to use, but I want to make it more efficient.

Right now I'm using a Canvas as the base component, I create a snapshot of the current view using an ImageSnapshot (new Bitmap( ImageSnapshot.captureBitmapData( this ) )), and I slide the new index on top of that image on index change.

I'm basically looking for suggestions on how to do this a better way. By taking the Image after the component loads, and after the slide happens, I've gotten the initial jaded moves down to a minimum, but we normally use this for transitioning grids so it's almost always slow on the first or first couple slides.

Animation In Graphic Symbol Timeline By Mistake

Dec 22, 2009

I am making a very simple stick figure animation which will be intended for tv, specifically HDTV 1080p.I have no idea how i did it but I did the animation and before I knew it it was not on scene 1, but on the graphic symbol timeline. I think it is because I made my character a symbol, and i guess everything followed. But when I put them on the stage from the library, only part of the animation shows up, the part with the character i made into a symbol...not only that, but if I copy and paste all the frames from the symbol timeline onto the main timeline, it is HUGE! it doesn't match the size or placement it was on in the other timeline..Also, are there any specific requirements for editing with intent for hdtv? I read you can't use movie clips but as for size, etc? What do you have to set at the beginning and what will change when it is exported or converted for tv?

Use Movie Clip Or Graphic Symbols For Character Animation?

Mar 12, 2008

Should I use Movie Clip or Graphic Symbols for Character Animation? What do people who make TV shows use. If I'm not planning on manipulating any symbols with ActionScript and I'm not using a symbol that requires it's own time line like a walk cycle, is there any reason to use movie clips symbols? If I put my animation on the web will it download noticeably faster if I use graphic symbols instead of movie clip symbols?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Mouse Over Actual Panzoom Animation Graphic Causes All To Vanish?

Jun 25, 2010

see code below. We have movieClip called Map_Collection (in properties) within which are movie clips BusRoute_42 and BusRoute_43 (in properties) as well as the basic map artwork graphic. These are lines that glow (motion tween alpha1% to 100% to 1%) when buttons outside of the map boundary are clicked on. Buttons sit on Scene1 stage outside of the map area and are named in properties Button42 and Button43

Coding also makes the map zoom and pan, using mix of freesource whitecat redcat and greymouse coding for pan and another for zoom with focus at mouse location.

The problem:-
1) Map route glows ok when button clicked, and pan zoom is ok until user happens to shove map around just on the location of the glowing line, the entire flash movie then goes white, all artwork vanishes.. Why ? Near it ok, but on it, zappo !

2) zoom works but zoomout eventually inverts then gets larger !

Envirographics

PS I dont suppose there is a way of copy pasting code in from CS5 retaining the colouring of it ?

Professional :: Flip Card And Drag It Around

Jul 17, 2010

I'm trying to make a basic card game where I can flip the cards and also drag them around. Here's the code for card.as, the file that's controlling my cards.

package{ import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
public class Card extends MovieClip { private var _type:*;
public function Card() { this.buttonMode = true;
this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
} private function onClick(event:MouseEvent):void { this.play();
} public function setType(type:*):void { _type = type;
loader_mc.addChild(_type); }}}

I've been trying to add draggability to the card, but I'm not sure how to do it. Do I need a separate ".as" file to control it? Or, do I build it right into this file? If so, how would I do that? I tried making a separate ".as" file but then my basic card flipping code doesn't work.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Random Card Draws

Dec 26, 2010

There's something I'm trying to make but I just can't seem to figure it out. I want to make something that allows a person to build a deck of cards from multiple sets of cards. I also want a button that can be clicked to randomly choose a card from the created deck. For example: lets say there are four sets of thirteen cards (hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs). The user can select which of the four sets will be included in the deck. Once the sets are chosen the user can click a button and one card will be chosen from the selected sets. What is the best way to handle something like this? Is there a tutorial that explains how to do something like this?

AS2 :: Handle Missing Sound Card

Feb 25, 2010

In my AS2 Flash game, I play a number of sound files and wait for the "onSoundComplete" message/function before proceeding.The problem is if there is no sound card in the system (or it is disabled in device manager) - everything acts like it is working (no errors, onLoad handler gets "true") - but the sound never actually gets played, and as such, my event never gets triggered.I had planned on dealing with this by hooking into my sound code, and if I detect no sound card, just kick off a timer to wait a few seconds before manually firing the "onSoundComplete" function.The only problem is that I can't reliably find a way to determine if there is a sound card in the system! AS3 seems to handle this quite nicely by passing back a NULL soundchannel - unfortunately I am stuck in AS2.0
